if I keep seeing people say someone has the wrong body type to be a mandalorian, or is too old/young, whatever reason, I am going to throw hands.

Setting aside for a moment how gross it is to body shame cosplayers, they’re also incorrect.

idk how many times I’ve seen mando cosplayers be fat shamed, or say themselves that they’re “to fat to be a mando” and I hate it for so many reasons. You don’t have to be skinny to be a fighter. You don’t have to be skinny to be physically strong, or even healthy. That looks different for everyone.

As for disability, there are gonna be disabled mandalorians. Fighting that much will lead to injuries, and even for naturally occurring disability I cannot imagine a group of people that cares that much about family and community not caring for disabled members. This goes for both physical and mental disability.

they also wouldn’t kick someone out for being old.

Mandalorians by all appearances of their culture should be incredibly diverse and varied in appearance and Disney being too cowardly to portray them like that should not be pushed onto cosplayers.

This is not to say you can’t cosplay characters who you are physically different from, what it is to say is that if you’re thinking oh this custom mando will always be inaccurate because I’m _____ then you’re wrong.

Are geese the Mandalorians of the animal world?

They will appear out of nowhere if they hear a little one crying out.

They will square up with anything too close to little one crying out.

They will threaten anything in the vicinity of little one.

They will adopt nearly anything in need of care.

They will raise, feed, care and protect those they adopt with their whole soul.

I made a friend. His mando name is kyram loras skraanika which basically translates to deadly beef jerky (deadly meat snack, but the name exists because of a slim jim wrapper)

Satines Beskargam (complete)

Satine’s Beskar’gam (complete)

Have some facts here:

Satine’s armor is always in pristine condition,

When the paint gets chipped or some damage occurs, the moment she has the time she immediately repaints it to cover it,

She uses an Art Nouveau type of style,

On her chest plate is the symbol of House Kryze,

One her pauldrons is the simbol of the Jedi Order (long story),

The “heart” is made of the same material as her TCW earrings,

She does not like to wear it, but since it’s obligatory during official meetings, so she can’t really choose,

So if she has to wear it she might as well do something cool with it.

I’m 90% sure the thing that pissed off Tor was just Jaster saying “colonialism is bad actually.” Seeing as a history buff like Jaster would know about the Neo Crusaders and probably look at the consequences of their actions and go “hmm. maybe we should not repeat that”. Especially with the Dral’han having happened because the republic decide Malachor V was Not Enough. Also, I suspect he might object to murdering civilians the way the Neo Crusaders did.

Within the codex I do think there would be some mention of placing Honor long before Glory, as well as explicitly referencing the Neo Crusaders and their actions as an example of why it’s important to do so. Tor is likely marketing Deathwatch as sort of heirs to the Neo Crusaders so. That’d be enough to piss him off. Jaster also likely wrote specific prohibition of stealing kids to indoctrinate them like the Neo Crusaders did, and Deathwatch canonically does. Adoption is fine, kidnapping is Not. Pretending Kidnapping is adoption would likely be considered a serious crime by the codex.

The Codex would also likely place a lot of value on civilian professions since Jaster is from Concord Dawn, a largely agricultural world and was probably raised as a farmer first and a warrior second himself. Tor, however, is from the Mandalorian equivalent of nobility and has no concept of just how important non-combatants are to a society, and is mad at them being considered equal to warriors in the codex.

Tor’s ultimate goal seems to be holding a mandalorian empire, essentially, with similar tactics to those the Neo Crusaders used. Jaster’s goals seem to be more about the survival of his people and culture.

Tor wants the galaxy to bend to his idea of what Mandalorians should be. He wanted glory without caring about honor. Jaster wanted his people to live by their own definition, so long as they don’t harm their people. He wanted honor with caring about glory.

Side note: I think he was very upset that Cassus Fett’s descendants did not side with him, seeing as Cassus was the primary strategist and one of the major leaders of the Neo Crusaders. Tor would likely have expected them to want to return to their families glory days rather than, you know, be happy just being farmers. And that’s part of why he took Arla, to try and make her his Cassus Fett

I’m very sorry this is a whole essay :’)

I’m aware I am Very Late To The Thread

so what does everybody think the supercommando codex actually Said.  give me your novellas on the topic

"Something that I think is fascinating about Tarre Vizla is how the mandalorians (and mando stans) just do not care about who he was".

Maybe the Mandos see Tarre Vizla as a traitor.

Maybe the Mandos consider the darksaber a purely mandalorian weapon since it was made with mandalorian materials.

So the Mandos are more concerned with the Darksaber than Tarre Vizla.

I think one of the things that helps explain Satine's slightly baffling 'the Republic should stop fighting this stupid war' take is that she does not know the things that the audience knows.

Nobody told her about the Blue Shadow Virus, the carpet bombing of civilian homes on Ryloth, the Defoliator on Maridun, the attacking of hospitals, and so on.

She just knows that there's a war happening, and that it's killing a whole lot of people for reasons that, as far as she or anyone else has been told, are mostly just about someone wanting to secede. She knows that places are getting invaded, but logically, this is something that should be handled by diplomatic channels.

And the thing is, if everyone was arguing in good faith (e.g. if all the Separatists were working from the same angle as Mina Bonteri), then she'd be right! But the war is being run by Sith Lords and war profiteers, and while Satine is used to people wanting war for the sake of war, she's managed to talk people into not doing that before, so it should be easy for large senates of the Republic and CIS's nature to make it work too.

This war could have been an email.

Unfortunately, there are Sith, and there is large scale biological warfare that implies attempted genocide, and there is pillaging of captured planets, and so on. But nobody told her that, because if they shared that information publicly, then things would go even more wildly out of hand,* and so she's just like "wow, this war is stupid as hell. Maybe you should stop killing people and talk it out, because that's politics. You know, your job?"

So all that, but exaggerated to the point of secondhand embarrassment, because it's an animated series intended for an audience of twelve-year-old boys.

*Palpatine benefits from pushing for the Jedi to see the war as necessary, but the civilians to see it as bullshit, and so he definitely errs on the side of keeping the Seppie war crimes a secret from the public, which includes politicians that are not part of the Republic Senate/Loyalists.

Mandos who use stickers on their armor but in a ‘don’t tell mom I got a tattoo’ sorta way. Someone gets a bumper sticker on their ass armor that says dumptruck and ba’buir is so mad for no reason. ‘Check out my newest piece it’s scratch and sniff.’

GUYS- I think I cracked the code! I think I know how Bo-Katan is gonna appear in The Bad Batch and how it ties into the Mandalorian Purge😳

I’ll put it below because it’s kinda long😅

So, I was picking apart The Bad Batch trailers (as crazy people like me do) and I was trying to figure out what planet this was:

GUYS- I Think I Cracked The Code! I Think I Know How Bo-Katan Is Gonna Appear In The Bad Batch And How
GUYS- I Think I Cracked The Code! I Think I Know How Bo-Katan Is Gonna Appear In The Bad Batch And How

I was thinking it might be Alderaan, but there’s not really a big motive for the Empire (or the Republic) to occupy Alderaan. For all they knew, Bail Organa was compliant like every other senator. If they were suspicious, they would have done something much sooner than 0BBY.

So, what other planets have snow, tall trees, mountains, and frozen-over lakes? KROWNEST!

We saw in Star Wars Rebels that Clan Wren lived on Krownest and they were led by Ursa Wren, who made a brief appearance alongside Bo-Katan in The Clone Wars season 7.

GUYS- I Think I Cracked The Code! I Think I Know How Bo-Katan Is Gonna Appear In The Bad Batch And How

If this part of The Bad Batch takes place after the Empire was formed, then it would make sense for TBB alongside the Imperials to try to occupy Mandalore and other Mandalorian planets. If you think about it, Mandalore is perfect to try to occupy because they were under new leadership (Bo-Katan, who was inexperienced with leading an entire planet or a system of planets), they were previously neutral in the Clone Wars, and Mandalorians are notoriously dangerous people to be against and they would be valuable allies. Then I remembered that there was a leak of the description for a Hasbro Bo-Katan black series action figure. The description says that “she refused to align with the Empire’s occupation of Mandalore” and that the action figure was a replica of her from The Bad Batch show...

GUYS- I Think I Cracked The Code! I Think I Know How Bo-Katan Is Gonna Appear In The Bad Batch And How

So if she refused to join the Empire, maybe that’s the cause of the Mandalorian Purge. Bo even said she fought in the Purge. It’s been mentioned several times in The Mandalorian, but we’ve never gotten a time frame or many details. We do know that the Purge was at the Empire’s hands, though.

But what does that have to do with The Bad Batch? Okay, I think TBB was sent to help the Imperials occupy Krownest, but Bo-Katan resisted, resulting in the Mandalorian Purge. As we know, Jango Fet, the clone template, was a Mandalorian foundling. It’s widely accepted that the clones speak Mando’a, so is it bold to assume they have loyalties to Mandalore? Maybe TBB decided to aid the Mandalorians on Krownest and fight on their side. However, we know that the Mandalorians lost to the Empire, and maybe this is how TBB dies👀

The Mandalorians lose, Krownest is occupied by the Empire, Ursa Wren makes a deal with them, and Tristan Wren goes on to be a Mandalorian who serves the Empire (as Fenn Rau calls them). Perhaps Bo-Katan leaves before the Empire can catch her, running away with Clan Kryze and surviving. This might also explain how Bo-Katan referred to Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian. When explaining the plan, Bo says “Koska, Fennec, Dune, myself, disembark...” She uses Koska and Fennec’s first names but she calls Cara by her last name. We know that she is close with Koska, which explains why she calls her by her first name, but she must be familiar with Fennec as well. Fennec is gonna be in The Bad Batch so maybe they’ll interact with one another.

If you’re still reading, what did you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or constructive criticism!

May the Force be with you!

It’s kinda crazy that this was Boba Fett’s first appearance, ever. Star Wars Vintage: Story of the Faithful Wookiee (1978)

Its Kinda Crazy That This Was Boba Fetts First Appearance, Ever. Star Wars Vintage: Story Of The Faithful

You can even tell that this was the inspiration for Din Djarin’s look, especially the rifle and full (tattered) cape.

If Kanan Jarrus isn’t a Mandalorian, then explain this:

If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:
If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:
If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:

When Darth Vader hits Kanan’s pauldron with his lightsaber, it doesn’t damage the material, it just strips the paint off of it. From just this info alone, it seems like Kanan’s pauldron is made of Beskar.

Every other material looks roughly like this when a lightsaber strikes it with that amount of pressure (I couldn’t find a picture of that scene from Rebels where Ahsoka was touching the marks left by fifth brother’s lightsaber):

If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:

But Kanan’s pauldron isn’t indented where the lightsaber struck it, it’s pretty smooth and even as you can see down below:

If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:

We know that beskar is lightsaber-proof from the Mandalorian

If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:

So is it a stretch to speculate that Kanan’s season 1/2 armor is beskar?

I personally think that his eye covering in season 3/4 is made from beaker as well, possibly even made from his season 1/2 armor.

What’s crazy about the eye covering is that it has Jaig Eyes painted on it. Jaig eyes were a Mandalorian symbol of honor worn by warriors. Why would Kanan appropriate Mandalorian culture?

Also, Kanan knew to ask Fenn Rau about the Darksaber. Maybe he didn’t know exactly what it was or the story behind it, but he knew it was a lightsaber, and a Mandalorian one at that.

If Kanan Jarrus Isnt A Mandalorian, Then Explain This:

Seeing as Kanan was taken into the order as a toddler, it’s impossible to know where he was originally from or who his parents are. I couldn’t find anything that indicated Kanan’s home planet. I think it’s possible that he was a Mandalorian by blood but now we‘ll never know.

Does Obi-wan look sexy in Mandalorian armor? Absolutely. Wow. He could punch me in the face and I’d thank him.

But isn’t it kinda disrespectful??

In Star Wars: Rebels (2014-2018), Sabine said, “the armor I wear is 500 years old. I reforged it to my liking, but the battles, the history, the blood, all lives within it. And the same goes for every Mandalorian” in response to Ezra asking the Mandalorians if they could just make their armor out of something other than beskar.

In The Mandalorian (2019-), when Boba tells Din that he’s “here for the armor,” Din tells him “If you want my armor, you’ll have to peel it off my dead body.” You could excuse this as Din being a Child of the Watch, obsessive over Mandalorian traditions, but it seems like most Mandalorians are this protective over their armor.

So when Obi-wan steals that Mandalorian’s armor while he’s probably unconscious...isn’t it a bit...disrespectful, at the least?

Imagine him waking up and the armor is gone... Like, he probably cried.
