Chapter 6
Marinette was panicking. She couldn't breathe.
He asked her out on a date.
Xavier asked her out on a date.
She didn’t know whether she should jump around her room squealing with joy or scream in frustration.
She didn’t know what to wear.
“Tikki!” Marinette wailed, “What do I wear?”
The red kwami stared at her chosen with a bored expression. “Just pick one of those outfits.”
The dark-haired girl glanced at the clothes around her room before studying the outfits on her bed.
“Those clothes aren’t good enough.”
Tikki flew towards a dress and pointed at it. “You’re wearing that.”
“But-” Marinette tried to protest.
“You’re wearing that,” Tikki demanded.
Marinette could not bring herself to argue with the tiny goddess. She was simply too tired. Marinette let out a yawn. “Sorry bout’ this, Tikki,” Marinette murmured. Tikki’s sky blue eyes met Marinette’s tired ones. “I just don’t want to look stupid in from him.”
“You’re not going to look stupid.”
“You sure?”
Tikki rolled her eyes. Her chosen was just so oblivious sometimes.
How was it possible for someone to be so smart yet so dumb at the same time?
Tikki had no idea. She gave Marinette a glance.
Marinette was sitting on the edge of her bed looking so defeated. Her shoulders were hunched and her hair was a mess. She was clenching her fists, no doubt believing what she was actually saying about herself.
She looked so broken.
Tikki quickly flew to Marinette to give her a hug on her cheek. “You won’t look stupid, Marinette.” the flying kwami assured. “And even if you do, he won’t care. He saw all the posters of Adrien in your room, remember?” Marinette nodded and Tikki quickly smiled, “See, and even after that he helped you.”
“I know.” Marinette’s voice wavered.
As much as Marinette didn’t want to let Lila and Adrien’s remarks get to her. It just didn’t work. It still hurt.
A lot.
It didn’t help that Marinette read some of the comments on her recent Instagram post. At first, all the comments she saw were so supportive. But as Marinette kept scrolling, the comments quickly got worse.
It went from people insulting her looks to telling her that she wasn't worth it. That she should just kill herself. There were so many comments telling Marinette that she was just a waste of space. Telling her that she was useless and that no one would ever love her.
When enough people tell you the same things over and over again, you know it’s true.
It only took a few minutes before Marinette was ready to burst into tears. Luckily, she was able to hold it in until the bell rang, telling the student that it was time to go home.
By the time Marinette shut her trapdoor, her face was streaming with tears. She was stupid. She never should've posted that picture. She should've never listened to Xavier. She should’ve just left it alone.
Marinette glared at her phone.
Stupid.
Stupid.
Stupid.
Marinette felt tears on her cheeks and knew that her kwami was looking at her with pity.
It was the same look Tikki was giving her now.
“Stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” Tikki innocently asked.
“With those eyes. You feel bad for me. I hate it. I hate feeling like this. I hate feeling useless.”
Tikki shut her eyes before sitting on Marinette’s palm. “XY is right you know.” Marinette tilted her head in confusion. “You need to talk to someone about this.”
“About what?”
“About this.” Tikki’s voice was frustrated. She was a goddess. She was one of the most powerful beings alive. She was creation itself. So how come she can’t keep Marinette happy? “You’re not feeling okay Marinette.” Tikki was close to crying now. “Please.” her voice sounded so desperate it made Marinette want to give her kwami a hug. “Just talk to someone. Anyone.”
“I can't!” Marinette snapped. “There’s no one I can talk to. Nino and Alya won’t understand. They don’t know I'm Ladybug. They won’t understand why I’m so stressed. I can’t talk to Chat Noir because he’s a jerk. He’ll-” Marinette’s voice lowered. “He’ll try to use my emotional state to manipulate me and Xavier-” Marinette let out a harsh laugh. “I don’t want to bother him. He’s helped me enough. Especially since he gave me something to look forward to tomorrow.” Marinette gave Tikki a small smile. “He asked me on a date.”
“Then talk to me,” she whispered, floating next to Marinette’s side. “Please.”

Growing up, XY had no friends. He was always alone. No one wanted to hang out with him. All he had was his mom and dad.
XY knew he looked a lot like his mom. Everyone told him that.
Maybe that’s why his dad hated him. XY had his mom’s golden blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. People often told XY that he had her soft smile as well.
As he grew up, his mom often told XY that he reminded her a lot of herself when she was younger. Hearing that always made XY smile. He always wanted to be like his mother.
His mother was the best person he ever met. She was always there for him. She reminded XY that she loved him whenever she could. She played with him when he had no one to hang out with. She gave him a hug whenever a kid was picking on him. And she always gave him the best advice.
XY thought he would be with his mom forever.
But she’s gone now.
XY missed her.
He missed her smile.
He missed her laugh.
He missed how she always gave him a warm hug whenever he went home crying because someone told him that he wasn’t worth anything.
And most importantly, he missed how she always reminded him that she loved him.
Now?
No one did.
XY crinkled his nose in disgust.
He was never close with his father. As he grew up, Bob Roth was just there. He was just another person in the house.
Looking back at it, XY wished he tried harder to have a relationship with his dad.
At least if he did, he wouldn’t feel so alone.
XY stared at his arms. He could see the faint outlines of the cuts he used to make after he found out that his mom was gone.
The cuts weren’t obvious. Just a little scratch whenever he felt like he needed to feel something.
The pain helped him feel better.
In fact, you could barely see the cuts now. You would need magnifying glasses to even notice that there was something on his arm.
XY let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He needed to get over himself.
He was just XY. A musician that stole music from other people. He was useless.
XY forced himself to shut his eyes. “Stop it.” he murmured to himself, “These thoughts won’t help you with anything.” He took a deep breath.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
In. Out.
XY’s eyes snapped open and he groaned.
This wasn’t helping.
His eyes drifted to his phone. Hoping that Marinette sent him a text.
Nothing.
What was he trying to convince himself? Marinette didn’t need to text him. She had other friends.
If he really wanted to talk to her, he should text her.
But he couldn’t. He didn’t want to bother her with his problems.
She was dealing with enough.
He was lucky that Marinette opened up to him about all the drama that’s going on with the Lila girl and Adrien. But he knew that she wasn’t telling him everything.
He couldn’t do anything about that though. He couldn’t force her to tell him everything. But he wanted to help her.
The last time they talked in person she looked so defeated. Marinette looked like she was holding the weight of the world on her shoulders.
She hid it well.
XY only figured it out today.
His reflection was staring at him through the mirror. His eyes were red and his usual golden hair was dull and messy. He looked pathetic.
But as he continued to stare at himself in the mirror, he knew why wanted to help Marinette so much.
She reminded him too much of himself right after his mom died.
XY let out a sad smile. Even though she was going through so many things, she agreed to go on a date with him.
He couldn’t wait to hang out with her.
Which was why he needed to get himself together. He couldn’t look like a mess in front of Marinette.
XY didn’t need Marinette to regret her decision to go out with him.
He couldn't lose her.
Marinette was too important to him.
He wouldn’t lose anyone he loved ever again.

Chapter 7
Chloe Bourgeois was not a good person.
Everybody knew that.
People believed that she was nothing but a spoiled brat.
And in a way, Chloe knew that they were right.
Her dad was the mayor. She grew up surrounded by the most influential people and she watched as her dad manipulated everyone to get what he wanted.
She grew up believing it was normal.
So as the years passed and her parents began to drift apart from her, Chloe did what her dad did best.
Chloe began to manipulate everyone around her.
She made Paris believe that she was nothing but a spoiled brat who had her daddy wrapped around her pinky finger.
It was too easy.
No one questioned her attitude.
After all, Paris only saw a basic white girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.
It made Chloe want to scream. She wanted a challenge.
She hated how people immediately did what she wanted them to do just because she threatened to call her dad.
Do they even know that the laws in Paris said that it was illegal?
How could people be so stupid?
It took Chloe several days before she decided to use this to her advantage.
In a matter of weeks, Chloe had everyone in Paris believing that she had no worth. The only thing she was good at was threatening everyone around her, just because she was the mayor’s daughter.
Then, Chloe met Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Oh, how Chloe loved the tiny pigtailed girl.
Someone who actually made things interesting.
Someone who gave her a challenge.
But as Chloe continued to torment the pigtailed girl, Marinette slowly stopped defending herself.
Chloe didn’t know why.
She thought that the more she made Marinette miserable, the more Marinette would fight back against her.
So why? Why did Marinette just accept the awful things that Chloe did to her?
It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Her daddy always told her that the more you push someone towards the edge, the more they’ll push back.
That’s how politics worked!
Marinette was supposed to fight back and then they would slowly become friends.
Chloe and Marinette were supposed to rule Paris together.
Side by side.
The two five year olds were supposed to become sisters in everything but blood.
It took years before Chloe realized what went wrong with her plan.
Marinette didn’t grow up with manipulative people. Chloe did.
Marinette grew up surrounded by people who loved her. Chloe didn’t.
Marinette is a good person. Chloe isn’t.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Everyone knew that Marinette was a bubbly child.
She was always happy and smiling, even as a baby.
When she finally learned how to talk, she couldn’t stop. She would walk around the bakery asking people if they needed help. Marinette could always put a smile on everyone’s faces.
At least that’s what she believed.
Marinette was excited for her first day of school. She was finally five years old. She could attend école.
She couldn’t wait to make friends.
Her papa even let her take a pack of macarons from the bakery so that she could share them with her class.
Her papa told her that a good way to make friends was to give them food.
And he was right!
Everyone wanted to be Marinette’s friend. Even when she didn’t have food to give them.
They still wanted to get to know her. It was really fun.
Marinette never noticed the blonde girl from the back of the room staring at her with her calculating blue eyes.
As the weeks passed, Marinette began to realize that something was wrong.
It started off small.
But then it began to become more obvious.
Her friends began to ignore her.
But Marinette could tell that they didn’t want to, she could see the fear in their eyes.
But why?
Marinette didn’t think she looked scary. Her mama and papa always told her she was cute.
Marinette’s eyes looked around the room and noticed that a blonde girl was staring at her.
Marinette’s dark blue eyes met the girl’s light ones.
The girl raised an eyebrow at her. As if asking, what do you want?
Marinette looked away and asked the boy next to her, Ryan, if he knew the girl's name.
The dark-skinned boy stared at her with his green eyes as if she was dumb and muttured a quick, “Chloe. Her name is Chloe Bourgeois.”
Marinette felt her eyebrows scrunch up in confusion. Why did that name sound so familiar?
She tapped her pencil against her desk.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
Chloe was the mayor’s daughter. Marinette realized, her blue eyes were wide and she turned to look at the blonde again. She’s pretty.
Ryan caught her staring at Chloe. “Don’t talk to her.”
Marinette looked at him with bewilderment. “What? Why?”
“You don’t know?”
“Know what?” Marinette didn’t know anything. She didn’t even know that Chloe was in her class at all. She never noticed the blonde until now!
“She told everyone to stop hanging out with you.” Ryan slowly told her.
“Why?”
“I don’t know.”
“I don’t even know her.”
“Well, she doesn’t like you.”
“But why would she not like me if I don’t even know her.”
“I don’t know.” Ryan repeated. “Look. I already took a risk by even talking to you.”
“Wha-”
Ryan interrupted her. “Stop talking to me!”
The whole class stared at them and Marinette felt her cheeks heat up. She heard her teacher’s booming voice ask, “What’s going on there?”
Ryan pointed at her. “She keeps talking to me even though I told her to stop, Ms. Delgado.”
Snitch.
Ms. Delgado’s dark brown eyes glared at the five year old. “Marinette, we are learning right now. You can talk to him during recess.” Her teacher pointed at the problem on the board. “Since you keep talking, I’m guessing that means that you know what we’re doing.”
The pigtailed girl shook her head. “No, I don’t know what we’re learning about.”
“Ma’am.”
Marinette clenched her fists, “No, I don’t know what we’re learning about ma’am.”
“That’s what I thought.” Marinette lowered her eyes so that her teacher couldn’t see them. “As punishment, you will stay here five minutes after I dismiss everyone for recess.” Marinette gulped. She could feel everyone’s eyes on her. “Am I understood?”
Marinette could only whisper a quick, “Yes, ma’am.”
Things only got worse after that.
Marinette didn’t know what happened during the five minutes she missed but no one could even look at her. Whenever she tried to talk to another kid, they would ignore her. Some would even glare at her.
Marinette didn’t know what she did wrong. She wasn’t the first person to get in trouble. So why was everyone only ignoring her and not the other kids that got in trouble too.
It wasn’t fair.
Why didn’t anyone like her anymore?
She didn’t even notice someone approaching her until it was too late.
“What a crybaby.” she heard a girl scoff.
Marinette didn’t even notice that she was crying. She tried to wipe the tears from her face but it was too late. She glanced up and saw the blonde girl glaring at her. “What do you want?” Marinette’s voice was hoarse.
“From you? I want nothing.” The way that Chloe was looking at her made Marinette uncomfortable. “I thought I had competition but looking at you right now, you’re just pathetic. Even more pathetic than the macaroons you brought to school on our first day.” Chloe let out a shrill laugh. “You’re worth nothing.”
As Chloe started to walk away, Marinette found her voice. “I am not pathetic. I’m not the one who made people stop being friends with me because they were jealous.”
Chloe’s icy blue eyes glared at Marinette, “Jealous? Why would I be jealous of you?” Marinette opened her mouth to reply before Chloe cut her off, “Trust me. No one wanted to be friends with you anyways. I just gave them a reason to stop.”
“You’re lying!” Marinette protested. Her tiny body was shaking. “They were my friends. And they wanted to be my friends until you opened your big stupid mouth.”
Chloe walked towards Marinette. Every step forward that Chloe made, Marinette took a step back.
A few seconds later, Marinette felt her back against a wall. She saw Chloe smirk. “Pathetic and stupid.” Chloe taunted. “You really are just a baker’s daughter.” Marinette felt her eyes tearing up and judging by the way Chloe was walking closer towards her, Marinette knew that Chloe noticed.
Marinette waited for Chloe to say something but she didn’t. Instead, Chloe was just staring at her. “You’re wrong.” Marinette spat out. “You’re wrong.”
She saw Chloe smirk before she began to walk away from her. “We’ll see. Marinette. But trust me,” Chloe’s eyes met hers. “It’ll only get worse from here.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Chloe knew that she didn’t deserve Marinette’s forgiveness. She made her école years a living hell.
Chloe made sure that no one wanted to be her friend.
And the sad part was that it was too easy.
If they were her actual friends, then they would’ve at least tried to argue against Chloe. But nope. They didn’t even care. They just let it happen.
People would argue that they didn’t know any better. They were just kids, everyone would say, it was their first year of attending school. They didn’t know any better.
It made Chloe want to scoff. Those kids watched as she humiliated Marinette over and over again.
For six years.
Sure, they were probably scared of Chloe because of who her father was. But all Chloe told them was to ignore Marinette. Make sure that she doesn’t have friends.
That’s it.
Of course, the last threat didn’t even matter because Nino befriended her. But at least it gave Marinette a bit of her fire back.
Too bad it was nothing more than a weak flame.
It was so weak that Chloe would’ve blown it out with a swish of her ponytail.
Honestly, Chloe knew that she should’ve stopped tormenting Marinette right after she stopped defending herself.
But it was too late.
The friends that Marinette made during the first few weeks of school loved the fact that they could do anything to Marinette and they wouldn’t get in trouble.
This happened a few years after Chloe made her first threat against Marinette. They were in what, their final year of école.
Chloe made sure that everyone stayed in the same class during their years of école.
Did she regret it?
Yes.
Did it teach Chloe anything?
Yes.
Those six years Chloe spent with the class, she promised herself one thing.
She would never be gullible in making friends.
The people that Marinette once called her friends, made her final year a living hell.
They treated her worse than Chloe ever did.
Way worse.
All Chloe did was torment Marinette verbally.
She never pretended to be someone’s friend only to stab them in the back.
Chloe had standards.
Plus, Chloe never meant for things to go that far.
So when Marinette wasn’t in the classroom, Chloe did what she knew best.
Manipulate the people around her.
Chloe didn’t know if Marinette noticed the difference in the class dynamic, but it was the least she could do.
In the next year, Chloe would never see the imbeciles around her again. It would only be Chloe, Marinette, and Nino who would be attending Francois Dupont.
Chloe would have a fresh start. Then she would slowly begin to redeem herself. And she would apologize to Marinette.
So, as Chloe sat on the edge of her bed, her phone in her hand. She finally liked the picture that she’s been staring at for the past few minutes.
After all, it was the least she could do.

note: i don’t know why i wrote this. It definitely wasn’t what i expected to write but my mind wanted to write it so I did. Does this chapter make sense though? I honestly have no idea. I just wanted Chloe’s walk towards redemption to start. Sorry for the late chapter though. I had a very off week. Freshman year of highschool sure is fun!

Chapter 8
XY’s eyes snapped open, “Get out of my head!”
His breaths were uneven as he forced himself to get up. He turned to the window and noticed that it was still dark out. It was probably midnight.
XY stared at his bed. He couldn’t go back to sleep, at least not until he cleared his head. It was like everytime he closed his eyes for more than a minute, he would see his dad yelling at him. Screaming about how much of a disappointment he is.
Xy squeezed his eyes shut. He needed to get out of this room.
He grabbed the closest jacket near him and walked out his door.
-
The frosty air hit XY as soon as he walked out of the hotel.
He looked up at the dark sky. You couldn’t see a lot of the stars due to air pollution. It made XY frown. He remembered when his mom used to take him camping. Every night, they would look at the stars and she would point at a constellation and tell him the story behind it.
He missed her.
A sudden BANG- snapped XY out of his thoughts. He turned and saw a man wearing a hawaiin t-shirt on the floor, along with a man wearing a white t-shirt and sweats running away.
XY didn’t know what to do. Should he help the man or run after the guy? He was fast. He could probably catch the guy. But what about the man on the floor? Was the man still breathing?
In the end, XY turned to the man on the floor.
“Are you alright?” XY asked.
The man coughed. “I should be-” the man tried to stand and almost tumbled over. “I might need a bit of help getting home though.”
“I can help.” XY assured. “I don’t need to go home yet anyways.”
The man gave XY a smile that made XY feel warm. XY couldn’t help but smile back. “Which way do we need to go?”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Marinette was out for patrol.
That was a lie. It wasn’t really patrol. It was more of an excuse to clear her mind.
Marinette felt like she couldn’t breathe. It was like she was in a small room and the walls were closing in on her. She couldn’t leave. She could only sit and watch as the walls would crush her to death.
Marinette loved swinging from building to building. It made her feel free. It made her feel like a bird ready to stretch her wings after being trapped in a cage for so long.
Tonight, she wasn’t Ladybug or Marinette.
Ladybug often felt like the whole world was resting on her shoulders. Like if she made a single mistake, everyone would judge her for it and hate her.
Marinette was often stressed. Marinette felt like she always had to watch her back, fearing that Lila would do something to her. Marinette had a lot of homework to finish. A lot of commissions to do.
But like she mentioned before, right now, she wasn’t any of her two personas. She was Maribug. Maribug was free. Maribug wasn’t stressed. Maribug didn’t have anyone that had high expectations for her. She was just her.
There was no homework to worry about.
There was no Lila making snide comments about her appearance.
There was no Adrien who glared at her whenever she met his eyes.
There was no Chat Noir who would forcefully ask her on dates, only to throw a giant tantrum when she declined.
There were no hate comments that told her that her life wasn;t worth it. That she should just kill herself .
It was only Maribug and the stars.
It was quiet for a few minutes before Maribug heard voices. They both sounded familiar so Maribug walked closer towards it.
Maribug was facing Master Fu’s shop and saw two people standing on the front. One was obviously Master Fu. He was wearing his trademark bright red shirt with white flowers and light brown pants.
Maribug squinted, trying to figure out why the other guy looked so familiar. Maribug could only see the guys back. He was wearing a dark navy jacket with black sweats. He turned and Marinette saw the familiar blue eyes that could only belong to one person.
Maribug felt a frown stretch onto her face. What was Xavier doing with Master Fu?
Maribug studied the blonde haired boy from the top building. His hair was a mess. And not the usually cute kinda mess. It was more like the i-just-walked-through-a-tornado kinda mess. He had bags under his eyes, which made Maribug assume that he couldn’t sleep.
She couldn’t help but snort. “You and me both.”
However, that noise made Xavier turn his head. His light blue eyes met Maribug’s dark blue ones.
Fuck.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
When XY helped the man back to his home (he told XY to call him Fu!), he did not expect Ladybug to be watching him.
XY couldn’t help but be nervous. Was she still mad about how she got the blue-haired boy akumatized? He apologized! He bought the boy a new guitar and he introduced the kitty band to a good producer and brand deal. He was pretty sure that they were friends now. And if not friends, at least good acquaintances.
Did Ladybug hate him? Can Ladybug even hate anybody? Is he going to be the first person the Ladybug is going to hate?
XY wanted to curl up and cry. As if he needed another flaw.
He faced Fu and gave him a smile.
“Thank you for helping me back to my home.”
XY couldn’t help but feel warmth from that sentence. “It was no problem. I should probably head back now though.”
Fu nodded in agreement and walked inside his massage parlor.
He was about to head to the hotel when Ladybug suddenly appeared in front of him.
If Ladybug was a Pokemon, XY was sure that one of her moves would be teleportation.
“I’m sorry!” XY suddenly blurted out.
“What?”
“I’m sorry for getting the Luka guy akumatized.” he couldn’t bring his eyes to meet hers.
“Xa-” Ladybug suddenly coughed, “I mean XY,” he slowly lifted his eyes from the ground. “It’s okay. I’m not mad at you.”
“But I caused an akumatization!”
Ladybug let out a twinkling laugh that sounded so familiar to him (but he couldn’t figure out why!). He was shaken out of his thoughts when Ladybug gave him a big smile and said, “Chloe caused a ton of akumatizations too and I still gave her the bee miraculous.”
That was true.
“So you don’t hate me?” XY asked meekly.
“Of course not!” XY couldn’t help but give her a small smile. She sounded so offended that she thought that she hated him. “So, why are you walking around this late at night?”
“I just needed to clear my mind. You?”
“Same.”
XY didn’t know what to say. He looked at her and he could see that her eyes were a bit red. Was she crying? “Are you okay?”
“Huh- what…” Ladybug wouldn’t meet his eyes, biting her lip. “I’m fine?”
XY couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. “Are you sure?”
“Yes.” Their eyes met and XY knew that she could hear the silent question he was asking. Are you okay? XY would not be the one that broke their eye contact. A few seconds passed and all XY could hear was their breathing. It was Ladybug that broke the eye contact, “No.” she whispered.
“Do you wanna talk about it?”
The air was starting to get colder as he waited for her answer.
In the end, she just nodded and held her hand out to him.

Chapter 9
Maribug has a late night talk with a certain blonde-haired musician
Swinging across Paris with Xavier should not have made Maribug’s stomach feel the way it did. It felt like a million butterflies were trapped inside her and they were trying to get out. It made her feel tingly and excited.
She couldn’t help but thank the gods that it was dark out. Otherwise, Maribug was sure that her whole face would be as red as her kwami.
When they arrived in his hotel room, Xavier gave the dark-haired girl a bright smile that would’ve made snow melt. “Thanks for the lift”
Maribug couldn’t help but smile back as she wrapped her arms around herself, missing the warmth Xavier’s body gave her, “It was no problem.”
“So…” he trailed on.
“So?” asked Maribug, hoping he would drop it.
“Are you okay?” Xavier asked bluntly, not being in the mood for the heroine’s obvious attempts to change the subject.
“I’m fine.” Maribug said, not meeting his eyes. Instead, she chose this moment to study his room.
This room was one of the biggest suites in the Bourgeois hotel. There was a king sized bed in the middle. It was messy though as if the person sleeping in the mattress didn't have time tidy up. There was a couch in front of the bed that faced a TV.
Even though Maribug might not like Chloe, her family sure knew how to do business.
A sudden gust of wind snapped her out of her thoughts. They left the balcony door open. She watched as Xavier rushed and closed the door before he turned back to her.
The way his eyes studied her made Maribug feel insecure. “So, are you okay?” he repeated.
“I’m fine.” her voice cracked. “It’s just hard being this super-perfect heroine all the time. It’s like people forget that i’m just a teenager.” Xavier sat down, gesturing for her to do the same. Maribug did. “You know you don’t have to do this alone, right?”
“Obviously.”
He winced, making Maribug feel bad for her outburst. “I mean, isn’t there someone you can talk too.” he started making frantic hand gestures. “I mean- sorry.” he sighed. “I suck at this.”
Maribug couldn’t help but give him a gentle smile. “You don’t have to rush. Just take a deep breath and gather your thoughts.”
He followed her instructions and repeated it.
One.
Two.
Three.
It took him three seconds to gather his thoughts. “Okay, what i’m trying to say is maybe you can talk to someone you trust. I know you won’t talk to me. You barely even know me, after all. But do you have a friend that you know will always be there for you, no matter what?” she nodded and he responded with a bright smile. “Then maybe you should tell her. It always helps if you have someone to talk to. It will definitely make things less stressful.”
Maribug nodded, seeing his point. But who did she have that would understand her. She didn’t have a lot of close friends left.
She felt something warm on her cheek. Maribug instantly tried to wipe it away. Why was she crying? She just finished a crying session a few hours ago. She only allowed herself to cry once every two weeks. This was one time too extra. She couldn’t afford to get akumatized. No one would be able to de-akumatize the akuma.
Out of the corner of her eye, Maribug saw Xavier hesitate before she felt his wrapped arms around her. He felt warm. Really warm. It was like there was a snowstorm outside and he was the only source of heat left in the world.
They stayed in that position for a few minutes, his warm arms around her petite body while she let more and more tears drop.
Another minute passed.
Then two.
Xavier slowly pulled his arms away, “You need to get some sleep.” he gently whispered “And think about what I said, okay?”
Maribug nodded, not trusting her voice.
The room was filled with a comfortable silence before Maribug opened her mouth, her voice cracking as she muttered, “I’m sorry for bothering you.”
“You’re not bothering me.” Xavier replied firmly, “But promise me that you’ll consider my advice and that you’ll get some sleep.”
Maribug gave him another soft nod, “I promise.” she gave him a pointed look, “But you better get some sleep too.”
“Don’t worry, I will” Xavier said, “I have a date after all.”’
She walked towards the balcony, giving him a soft smile before zipping away. Not aware of the fact her heart felt a little bit lighter.

Chapter 10
Waiting for Marinette in front of her parents’ bakery made XY feel nervous. He felt like a thousand red ants were crawling all over him and they were ready to bite him as soon as he messed something up.
He shook that thought out of his head. He was not going to mess this up. He did not have a breakdown over this date for nothing.
I got this, he repeated in his head, I got this
I will not mess this up.
I am XY, one of the most popular musicians in all of France. A small date with a gorgeous girl should not make me this nervous.
I got this.
I got this.
I got th-
XY gulped. He does not “got this”.
In front of him was Marinette in all her glory. He felt like he couldn’t breathe. Marinette was wearing an off-shoulder black and white polka-dot dress that went just right above her knees. Her hair was down and wavy. She looked like Aphrodite in disguise.
“Woah” he managed to say, “You look great.”
“Thank you.” Marinette gave him a soft, pretty smile. “You look amazing as well.”
“Did you make that dress yourself?” He couldn’t help but ask curiously.
She gave him a shy nod, “Yeah. I did. A small friend of mine actually helped me pick this.” Her dark blue eyes twinkled with delight, “I was really nervous that you would think that I looked bad.”
He stared at her in shock. “You could never look bad in anything.” He sincerely said, before smirking at her red face. XY liked it when he made the pretty dark-haired girl blush. “After all, you’re the only person I know who can pull off pigtails.”
Marinette pouted, making XY’s heartbeat beat a little faster. How can someone be this adorable? She playfully hit his arm. “So, where are we going today? Xavier.”
He turned away from her so that she couldn’t see his face heating up. She knew the effect she has on him and the way she says his name proves it. But XY knew he had the same effect on her. The blush that was on her face a few minutes ago proved it. He narrowed his eyes and smirked, their blue eyes meeting. Two can play at that game. “Follow me, princess.”
He gently grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the bakery, not bothering to look at her face. From the random noises she was making, he knew that she was flustered. It was one of his favorite traits about her.
XY ignored the people staring at them. He would normally be annoyed but this time he understood why they were all staring. Marinette looked absolutely breathtaking. He honestly didn’t know whether to smack the boys in her class or thank them.
How could anyone let a beauty like her stay single? He mentally scoffed, I guess Adrien isn’t the only blind person at that school.

Whenever Marinette was nervous or flustered, she couldn’t form words correctly. It was like there were a million things that she wanted to say but she couldn’t bring herself to say it. It made her jumble up her words, making the things that came out of her mouth as ‘nonsense.’
She didn't know whether she felt relieved or annoyed when Xavier let go of her arm. Marinette was glad that she could get her mind to calm down so that she could speak properly but she missed the feeling of his hand on her body. It made her feel warm. It made her feel safe.
“So,” she heard Xavier ask nervously. “What do you think?”
Marinette was confused. “What do you me-” She glanced at their surroundings and it was like she forgot how to speak. It was beautiful. “Woah. This is- Woah.”
Xavier let out a small laugh that made Marinette’s stomach fill up with butterflies. “I’m guessing you like it?”
Marinette nodded in excitement. “I love it!”
Xavier led Marinette to a beautiful garden. There was a small stream flowing through the side and there were bushes covered with roses. White butterflies were flying around and landed on the flowers. It was absolutely breathtaking.
“I’m glad you like it.” he sheepishly said. “After everything you told me about the drama that you’ve had to deal with, I felt like you needed a peaceful getaway.”
Marinette’s face started to heat up. “You didn’t have to do all of this, you know. A simple movie date would’ve been fine.”
He sent her a bright smile that would have made any girl's knees buckle, “I know.” he said. “But I wanted to. You deserve nothing but the best after all.”
He held out his hand and she gladly took it. Xavier led her to a casual red and white checkered picnic blanket with a basket in the middle.
The date hasn’t even started and Marinette already wanted to kiss him.
Instead, she looked around. Noticing the lack of people, she couldn’t help but ask “Where is everyone? A beautiful place like this should have more than two people in it.”
“Oh, yeah,” Xavier said casually. “I paid the owners of this garden to make sure that no unwelcome guests arrive.”
Marinette wasn’t sure whether she wanted to hit him for wasting his money on her or hug him because it’s the sweetest thing that anyone’s ever done for her. So, she let out a small “Oh.” instead.
That caused her date to pause. “Is it too much?”
“No!” Marinette panicked, not wanting him to think that she hated it. “It’s perfect. I just wish you didn’t spend this much money on this date.”
“Oh,” Xavier said in realization. “If it helps, maybe you could think of it as me not wanting the paparazzi to interrupt my date with a beautiful girl.” He patted on the empty space next to him. “Now come on. If we wait any longer, then the food will get cold.”

XY had no idea how long his date with Marinette lasted. In his opinion, it wasn’t long enough. He could spend all day listening to her ramble about anything.
He liked her so much. He couldn’t remember the last time he felt like this. It was like he could fly and touch the clouds. There was something about Marinette that just pulled him towards her. He felt like they instantly clicked.
He was walking Marinette home and he couldn’t help but notice the way she glowed underneath the moonlight. She was absolutely breathtaking.
He loved how they could never run out of anything to talk about. It was a breath of fresh air from the usual arguments XY always got himself into.
Whenever he was around her, he felt at balance. He didn’t know how to explain it. It was like she was good luck to his bad luck.
Marinette stopped walking and looked at him with her bluebell eyes. “We're here.”
“Yeah,” he muttered, a bit disappointed that he couldn’t spend any more time with her.
“I had a lot of fun today. Can we maybe do it again?”
His eyes suddenly met hers and he grinned. “Yeah!” he said excitedly. “Whenever you're free. I would love to hang out with you again.”
She sent him a bright smile before she leaned forward, kissing his cheek. “Great.” she hurriedly said, her face bright red. “I think I hear my parents calling me. I-better-go!” she rushed inside as XY stayed frozen in shock.
He hesitantly touched the cheek that she kissed. “Best day of my life.” he couldn’t help but whisper.
Deleted scene:
Marinette stared at Tikki, she was about to open her mouth when her kwami interrupted her. “No Marinette,” Tikki sighed in annoyance. “XY is not Chat Noir.”
“How do you know?”
“Cause I literally know who Chat Noir is.”
“Exactly!” Marinette exclaimed. “You could be lying.”
Tikki glared at Marinette, crossing her tiny arms. “For kwami’s sake, Marinette. You’ve been asking me this ever since your date ended with Prince Charming.” Before Marinette could reply, Tikki yelled. “Just let me eat my cookies in peace!”

Chapter 11
For the first time in a while, Marinette was happy. She felt like she was in heaven.
Ever since Xavier came into her life, she just felt free. While she was with him, she didn’t have to be the perfect student that had to drop everything just to help her friends nor did she have to be the perfect superheroine who had to save the day.
She was just Marinette. And he was okay with that.
Tikki’s mood has also gotten lighter. She was happy that Marinette had finally gotten over Adrien. Hopefully, Master Fu would get rid of that cat’s miraculous soon. Because everything escalates.
Marinette heard a crash. It was soon followed by a lot of screaming.
She knew that an akuma attack was happening. She muttered, “I knew everything was getting too calm. TIKKI, SPOTS ON!”
Ladybug was scanning the area. She knew that Chat Noir wouldn’t show up until later. When her eyes landed on the akuma, she noticed that the akuma was covered with silver glitter. “So this is a knock-off version of Style Queen” she muttered. “Except instead of gold, it’s silver.”
“MY NAME IS SILVER GLITTER!” the akuma yelled, “AND I WILL TURN PARIS INTO MY GLITTERY PLAYGROUND.”
“How creative.” Ladybug rolled her eyes, “Lucky charm.”
Looking around, Ladybug knew what she was supposed to do. The akuma was beaten in record time.
Paris was covered in glitter and she shuddered. Glitter was a bitch when it was time to clean up. It got all over the place. “MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!”
The magical ladybug fixed everything up, thankfully getting rid of all the glitter as well.
Ladybug couldn’t help but smile. Without that cat, akumas were getting easier to beat.
She felt someone land behind her and her mood suddenly dampened.
“Hey, m’lady.” he purred.
“Chat,” she acknowledged, trying to look for a way to get out of there as soon as she could. “The akumas been defeated. What are you doing here?”
He gave Ladybug a smirk that made shivers run up her spine. “Can’t I visit my favorite little bug?”
“Don’t call me that.” she snapped.
He raised an eyebrow, stepping towards her. “Little bug.” he taunted.
“Stop it.” She tried to firmly say. “Since you’re here, why don’t we talk about the fact that you’re barely helping with the akumas anymore.”
“You should know that shifting the attention away from you won’t work.” his eyes glinted with amusement. “But if you must know, it’s because a certain bug won’t accept her feelings for me.” his dangerous green eyes stared at hers, “Do you know how much it hurts? I know that she loves me but for some reason. She. Just. Won’t. Admit. It.”
Ladybug flinched, “What part of I don’t like you like that do you not understand?” she tried to explain. “No means no.”
Chat only laughed. “If I stuck with that rule, I wouldn’t be able to get whatever I wanted.” Ladybug didn’t know what to say, so the cat continued. “Trust me, bugaboo. I will get you to confess your feelings for me. One way or another.”
“That’ll never happen.”
His lips curl up into a snide smirk, giving her a final glance before turning away. “We’ll see. But until you finally open your eyes and admit that you like me, well-” his eyes scanned Paris. “Good luck fighting the akumas without me, m’lady.”
After Chat Noir left, Ladybug allowed herself to collapse in shock. She couldn't hear anything but the last sentence he said to her.
“until you finally open your eyes and admit that you like me”
“I will get you to confess your feelings for me. One way or another.”

“-YBUG!” she heard someone scream. “Holy crap, are you okay?”
She quickly recognized the voice. It was Alya. “Yeah,” she sighed. “I’m fine.”
Alya didn’t seem to look like she believed the heroine, “You sure?”
She couldn’t meet her friend’s eyes, “Alya, were you on live?” she asked in shock.
Alya shook her head. “No, but I caught everything on video.”
Ladybug bit her lip, contemplating her options. “Can you do me a favor and not post it yet please.”
“But, why?” her friend argued. “We should expose him as soon as we can. What he did was harassme-”
“I know what he’s doing” Ladybug interrupted, “Just don’t post it yet, please. I have a plan.”
“Fine.” the reporter relented. “But I will expose him. You don’t deserve that treatment.”
“Thank you.” Ladybug sent a small smile to her friend. “I’ll meet you at your house tonight?”
Alya nodded in agreement.
“Okay. With a final sigh, Ladybug got her yoyo ready. ”Bug out.”

XY had to be dreaming.
Or he probably died and went to heaven. Those were the only two explanations on why everything felt so perfect at the moment.
Right now, XY and Marinette were facetiming. It was supposed to be a professional call, where they discussed the designs for his music video. But somehow, they always managed to get off track.
They’ve been talking for hours.
Even though the two of them led fairly busy lives, it seemed like they always had time to call each other. No matter how late it was.
Their sleep schedule was messed up but it was worth it.
XY turned his attention back to his phone. Marinette was currently sketching the final products of the design they chose.
He was excited but she wouldn’t let him see it, no matter how much he begged. “Please.” he tried again, “Just a little peak?”
Marinette let out the cutest giggle XY had ever heard and playfully glared at him, “You’re gonna see it tomorrow.” she reminded him, “We’re finally able to meet up, remember?”
XY did remember. He was so excited when he found out that they were both free at the same time. “But I wanna see it now.”
“You are definitely not a patient person,” Marinette jokes.
“How dare you?” XY mockingly said, “We’re breaking up.”
Marinette laughed, “We can’t break up if we’re not together yet.”
“Yet.” XY winked, “We’re not together yet.”

Chapter 12
If Alya told anyone that she wasn’t scared and confused when she walked home after that battle, she would be lying.
Never in her life has she ever seen Chat Noir, a hero of Paris, act that way towards anyone. Especially not Ladybug.
At least she didn’t believe so.
But after replaying that encounter in her mind over and over again, Alya felt like someone tore off the rose-tinted glasses she wore whenever she looked at the superhero duo of Paris and stepped on it. Shattering the glasses in millions of tiny pieces.
Now, whenever her mind flashed to an interaction between both Ladybug and Chat Noir, she felt a cold pit settle on her stomach. There were so many red flags!
It was like the whole Lie-la situation again.
Sometimes, Alya couldn’t help but wonder if being a reporter is the right job for her.
A reporter is someone who investigates a source to make sure that it’s the truth and presents them to the public.
The Ladyblog was a trusted news source when it came to the news of akuma attacks that happened in Paris. Millions of people check the blog every day.
Millions of people have read her articles.
The same articles that talked about how Ladybug and Chat Noir were meant to be together. That they were soulmates.
Alya felt disgusted with herself.
Because of her, everyone in Paris probably wore the same rose-tinted glasses that she once wore when it came to Ladynoir. The famous ship name between the duo.
She failed Ladybug.
Alya felt her fists tighten. Never again. She vowed to herself. I won’t fail Ladybug again.
As she scrolled through the Ladynoir tag on her blog, Alya contemplated what her next move should be.
She heard a faint tap.
Alya quickly rose from her seat and opened the window, immediately engulfing Ladybug into a hug. “Are you going to be alright?” she quickly asked.
The dark-haired heroine hesitantly nodded. “I will be.”
Alya frowned at that answer but nodded anyway. “Okay.”
“Look Alya,” Ladybug sat on the edge of her bed and patted the space next to her, gesturing for Alya to sit down. “You can’t tell anyone about what happened between me and Chat.“
“What?” Alya’s voice rose, anger evident in her tone. “Why? He-”
“I know what he did.” Ladybug interrupted. “I just can’t risk it right now.”
Alya’s eyebrows furrowed, “What do you mean? Are you scared that people won’t believe you?” she asked, “Cause I have evidence. They have to believe you.”
Ladybug shook her head, defeated.
It scared Alya just how much Ladybug looked like Marinette in this position.
She was right. It was like the whole Lie-la situation again.
Maybe Lila and Chat Noir exchanged notes on how they manipulated the people around them so perfectly that it took such a dangerous situation for a person to realize what had happened.
Those two were spawns from hell. They were perfect together.
And who knows, maybe they could form a poly relationship with Adrien Agreste.
“I just need you to act like everything’s fine.” The tone of Ladybug’s voice broke Alya’s heart into two. Why does she sound so much like Mari right now? “I can’t- I can't risk Hawk Moth believing that I and Chat are at a disagreement right now.”
Alya forced herself to hold in her snort. Disagreement my ass.
Nevertheless, she nodded in agreement. She could read between the lines. Ladybug didn’t want to risk Hawk Moth getting Chat Noir on his side. That would put Ladybug at a big disadvantage.
“Do you have a plan though?” Alya wanted to smack herself because of how meek her voice sounded. She wasn’t a kid anymore. At Ladybug’s confused face, Alya elaborated. “I mean, do you have a plan on how you can get Chat Noir’s miraculous away from him?”
A small smile engulfed Ladybug’s features. “Actually, I do.”
Alya met Ladybug’s blue eyes, asking a silent question.
Ladybug only sighed in amusement, “I’m not telling you the plan.” she stated.
Alya pouted, “I understand. Just stay safe, okay.”
Ladybug’s features softened and she nodded. “I’ll try my best.”
They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes before Ladybug spoke up.
“Alya.” Her features tightened as if considering whether or not she should finish her sentence. “Tikki said it would be healthy for me to tell someone and-” Ladybug took a deep breath and Alya tilted her head in confusion. Tell someone what? “Actually, it would be easier to show you.”
“Ladybug, what are y-”
“Tikki spots off.”
A bright light engulfed the room. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Note: Sorry for the long wait. Finals were coming up and because I'm starting to drift away from the miraculous fandom, I just put off writing this chapter. Sorry if it kinda sucks.
Good news though, school is finally over. So that means that I now have a lot of free time. And my goal is to finish writing this fanfic before summer break ends.

Chapter 13
Alya didn’t know whether she was gonna jump in excitement or cry because of exhaustion.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng is Ladybug.
Marinette is Ladybug.
Her best friend is Ladybug.
Oh my fucking god.
Marinette chose Alya to be Rena Rogue.
Marinette trusted Alya with a miraculous.
Without even thinking about it, she threw herself at her best friend, giving her the tightest hug she could. God knows that Marinette needed it.
“Alya,” Mari gasped, arms flailing. “I can’t breathe.”
Her face turned sheepish, “Oops.” she apologized, “I just thought that you needed another hug.”
Marinette gave Alya a reassuring smile, “It’s fine. Just try not to kill me next time. Please.”
The word kill and next time we're running around her head dangerously. Her eyes flashed with anger and Alya’s pretty sure that something showed in her face because Marinette tensed up.
Alya glared at her friend, “Sit.” she commanded, her voice had her listen-to-me-or-i'll-make-you-regret-it-tone.
Marinette followed with no hesitation. She knew better than to challenge Alya when she was in this type of mood.
Which is good. Really good.
Because Alya was mad. Fire was roaring through her ears and all she could see was red.
First, Chat Noir hurt Ladybug. Her hero.
And now she finds out that Ladybug was Marinette this whole time. One of the sweetest girls that Alya has ever met. Alya’s best friend. Due to common sense, that meant that Chat Noir also hurt Marinette.
Alya was going to burn that cat, chop him into pieces, slice his throat open, and ruin his reputation so hard that he would never recover. Not necessarily in that order.
Alya scoffed as if the mangy alley cat would even survive. He wouldn’t get a chance to fucking recover.
He hurt someone Alya cared about.
This meant war.
She glanced at Marinette. The poor thing was staring at Alya like she was going to explode which was… fair. But Alya wasn’t going to explode at Marinette. She was going to explode at Chat Noir. There was a difference. A big difference.
She forced herself to calm down. As much as Alya wanted Marinette to know her step-by-step plan of ruining Chat Noir, she also knew that her best friend didn’t need any more stress in her life.
Alya sat next to her once again, gripping Marinette’s hand in order to comfort her. “Is there anything you want to talk about?” she couldn’t help but ask. “Not as Alya and Ladybug, but as Marinette and Alya.”
Marinette was hesitant, but she still nodded, causing Alya to inaudibly sigh with relief. She might not be able to physically help Marinette with her problem with Chat Noir, but at least she could help mentally. And sometimes, that was what mattered the most.
They sat in a tense, yet somehow comfortable silence for a few seconds before Marinette spoke up, her voice quivering as if she’s scared that Alya would judge her for what she would say.
Alya couldn’t do anything but give her hand another reassuring squeeze.
Marinette took a deep breath, “Sometimes I- sometimes everything just feels like it’s too much. With the whole thing with Hawk Moth, then Lila, and now Chat Noir. The only time I feel like I get to relax is whenever I'm with you or Nino and Xavier.”
Alya raised an eyebrow at the last name, “Who’s Xavier?”
Marinette blushed and Alya’s never seen her so… red. Not even for Adrien. Which was good. Cause that little musty ass bitch can go to hell.
She’s still really mad at how he played everyone. Alya thought that Adrien, Nino, Marinette, and her would stay friends forever. Even if Marinette was a little awkward around the model, she always thought that Adrien found it endearing.
Maybe even cute.
But now she knows that it was just another one of his many masks to fool people. To manipulate them.
If anything, he probably made fun of them behind their backs.
“Xavier is um-” Marinette’s eyes drifted to her feet so that she didn’t have to face Alya. “It’s XY?” she suddenly exclaimed.
“You sure?”
Marinette winced, “Yes?”
“He lets you call him Xavier.”
“Yeah.”
“Why didn't you tell me that you were dating someone?” Alya teased.
Alya didn’t think it was possible but Marinette turned even redder, “We’re not- it’s not, I don’t think it’s like that.” she finished lamely.
“We’re going back to this conversation later,” Alya informed her best friend.
Her mind was going to combust with all the new information but she still couldn’t help but smile.
The internet’s been going crazy over the supposed new golden couple of Paris.
It was honestly a bit of a catastrophe and Alya hates it because Marinette is getting so much hate over it online. Maybe Alya can get Max to hack into Instagram so that she can find out who exactly is sending her friend hate. Then get their address and set their house on fire.
She can put it on her to-do list.
Chat Noir first, then Lila and Adrien, and then the people hating on Marinette.
And in between, she’ll help Marinette gain more confidence, have XY and Mari officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. Help break the internet because she’s introducing them to Paris’s new power couple, smack Lila (again), and then get some sleep.
She and Marinette talked a bit more and when it was time for Ladybug to leave, Alya immediately grabbed her phone and asked Nino to grab her a coffee.
She had her work cut out for her.

Alya’s surprised. But then again, could you blame her?

Chapter 14
The plan was a bit far-fetched, even by Ladybug’s standards. It was sloppy and rushed but she hoped that it would work.
If not, then everything good that’s been happening to her for the past few weeks might just crumple beneath her fingers once again.
And she refused to have that happen.
Her talk with Alya calmed her nerves for a little but now they were back in full swing. It was as if someone poured a bucket of ice-cold water on her in the middle of winter.
Ladybug shut her eyes, counting to ten as she did the breathing exercises Master Fu taught her.
She unclenched her fists and forced her whole body to relax. She’s got this.
If she can face akumas ten times her size alone then she can face Chat Noir.
Right?
She shook her head, “Stop it Marinette.” she scolded herself, “Those types of thoughts will only set you back. Remember what Xavier told you?”
Ladybug felt the corners of her mouth twitch at the mention of the musician. “You got this,” she whispered once again. “You’re gonna defeat Chat Noir and then you’ll defeat Hawk Moth and then you’ll finally tell Xavier that you’re ready to date and then you’ll punch Lila in the face.”
She grabbed the picnic basket, clenching on it tightly as she took one more breath in.
“You got this.”
Throwing her yoyo at the closest building, she began to swing and make her way towards the Eiffel Tower. The same tower where she knows that a certain cat would be waiting for her.
She felt the wind blowing in her face but instead of the exciting rush it used to give her, it only made the knot in her stomach continue to tighten.
It only took her a few minutes to reach the top of the tower.
Ladybug took in her final deep breath. She wished that it took longer.
“M’lady.” a voice said behind her, “I knew you would come to your senses.”
Ladybug didn’t have to turn around for her to know that Chat was smirking. She shut her eyes for a few seconds before gathering up enough courage to turn around.
Chat Noir licked his lips the moment her eyes met his and the way he was looking at her made Ladybug feel like she was nothing but an object to him. An object that belonged to him.
Where did everything go wrong?
Chat Noir, the one person in the world that she thought she could trust with everything, was nothing but a monster deep down. He was worse than Hawk Moth could ever be.
With Hawkmoth, at least she knew that he was a villain. She knew what he wanted and the lengths that he would go to get it.
But with Chat, Ladybug didn’t know.
He was manipulative. He would make you feel special with his words in order to sink his claws into your brain, hoping that with enough flattery, he could make you do everything he wanted.
He was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Chat Noir walked closer towards her, each step purposely louder than the last.
His eyes stared at her deeply. As if she was a snack that he couldn’t wait to eat.
She forced a smile onto her face, “Hey, kitty.”
“Hey, bugaboo.” Chat cupped her face, tracing her jawline with his claws.
Ladybug froze and this time she couldn’t hold back her shudder. She saw Chat smirk and he pressed his fingernails even harder against her skin. If he pushed it an inch deeper, he would draw blood.
She could see the threat for what it was. One wrong move and he could tear her skin open.
Ladybug let him have this ‘victory’ for a few more seconds before leaning away, gently taking her hands off her face. “Let’s eat first, shall we, Chaton?”
She purposely made her voice lower, more seductive, when she said the last word. She needed his guard to be lowered.
“Whatever you want, m’lady.” Chat smirked and for a few seconds, she felt her heart stop.
That was the same smirk he used whenever he told a bad pun. The same smirk he gave her whenever they outsmarted the akuma. The same smirk that used to give her comfort now made her feel like ants were crawling all over her body.
She felt his cold hand tightly gripping her wrist.
It was a warning and a reminder.
She gave him the brightest smile she could muster, “Lead the way.”
