Headcanon that Scully's huge coat phase was really just her wearing her father's old overcoats :')

WHAT DOES SCULLY'S HAIR LOOK LIKE TO MULDER IF HE IS RED GREEN COLOR BLIND DAMN CHRIS CARTER

OKAY ANON, I actually went and did some goddamn motherfucking RESEARCH into this because it has been bothering me for YEARS.  I already knew being completely red-green colorblind makes you ineligible for certain assignments in the military, so I did a little digging, and AS IT TURNS OUT, prospective FBI agents would need to pass a colorblindness screening called the Farnsworth D15.  With a slight color deficiency, a candidate could pass this screening, but someone who is completely red-green colorblind would fail.

THEREFORE:

Fox Mulder could not have become an FBI agent, at least not one who is cleared for working in the field, if he had been completely red-green colorblind.  He can see Scully’s luscious red locks JUST FINE… and Chris Carter needs to learn to keep his poorly-thought-out headcanons to himself every once in awhile.

What if Mulder and Scully’s kid(s) ever asked how they met.

Would it literally be Mulder just saying, “Well, your mom was sent to destroy my life’s work on hunting down the truth about aliens and the other freaky unknowns of this world, but I somehow convinced her to join me instead.”

Sometimes you gotta wonder how Mulder was allowed out in the field before Scully. I imagine him working cases alone would be like:

Mulder: “Yes sir I can confirm aliens landed in your wheat field and killed all 8 of your cows, but the good news is you’re still here and the aliens aren’t so I wouldn’t worry too much. Of course being you didn’t keep any evidence because those men in black…wait, did you keep any evidence??!?!”

Mulder: “No ma’am the sergeant has it wrong, your son wasn’t abducted by a human, the obvious culprit is Bigfoot. No other explanation with a footprint that big out in your yard. I mean come on…look at it!”

Mulder: “Okay Skinner I know how my report sounds, but before you start yelling, I swear on my life it’s 100 percent true.”

Skinner: “…”

“You said a tree creature tried to drag you into the woods with its branch like arms, Mulder…”

Mulder: “…”

“Huh…well now that I hear it out loud…do you think it may have not been trying to kill me but show me something important?”
