Sooooo…. Me and @your-local-blogger decided to make a My Immortal inspired oc for shits and giggles. So, without adieu, meet Umbra Bugandy Obscure Bipolar Owlheart and of course Burgundy is misspelled in true MI fashion. This is just something stupid we made. Also she’s apart of a HTTYD and Ninja Turtles crossover. Still working out all the lore but since I don’t have the heart to slander Astrid, or Heather, they’re gonna be besties instead.

Hey, indie, how did you make Raph's fire when he's using his ninpo? What brushes did you use and the percentage of the transparency of it?
To draw Raph’s fire ninpo, first I’m gonna make a new layer for the fire.
I’m then gonna use the “Light Brush” tool with Raph’s red (#c40000) and draw the main fire, wisps and eye glow.
Next I’m gonna make another layer on top of the red for the orange/yellow colors of the fire
Scribble some of that orange-y red stuff (#c42f00) on with the light brush and it’s looking pretty good, although it’s kinda rough.
So now I’m gonna merge the layers together and blur the new combined fire layer roughly 7%. I then set the fire to “Highlight” mode and blurred it another 5% cause it looked a little too sharp.
Now, on another layer above the fire, I’m gonna make the embers. I like to use the “Flicks” brush, which I guess is like some spray paint effect, idk, it just works. I use Mikey’s orange (#ff8200) and just kinda scribble over the fire and surrounding area. I set the layer to “Add” mode to make it glow and then blur it.
You can blur the embers really anyway you want it just depends on the environment and movement of the source flame. So in this case because there’s a wind, I used the motion blur to make the embers appear to be flying away, though you can also just use a light Gaussian blur if the fire is still.
Add some lighting effects and darken the scene and BOOM! You got mystic fire! :]
