Surpass your limit.

Due to the recent changes in the healthcare industry, my already overloaded work (9-5 job) has doubled. Starting this week, I work longer hours than usual to just finish my work on time. On top of this, the rest of my waking hours is spent on either learning something for my business or reaching out to help other people. I’m not that young (where did all that energy go?) and tonight, I can feel exhaustion seep deep into my bones. I only reserve one hour at most to unwind from the stresses of the day before I dive back in front of my computer.

Tonight, there was a scene in the Japanese drama that I watched where everyone did not believe in this young doctor that he will be able to perform a complex surgery. On top of that, a complication happened in the middle. But because he studied and prepared for it, all was left for him was to believe in himself. That he was himself the limit. That he CAN  and DID surpass that limit that he imposed on himself and by the opinions of others.

This resonated with me deeply. Sure, I might not have other mouths to feed or huge debts that need to be paid that seem to push other people to strive hard for their dreams. My current goal is to get more clients, help more authors have their stories be told and eventually be flexible to live wherever I want to. It would be easy for me to tell myself right now to give in. I am tired. I need rest. Sleep. Watch more tv. Relax.

But I will NOT. I have Sunday for that.

So tonight, I will take a nap. Close my eyes for an hour or two. Then I will wake up. I will go back and help out another author, learn another skill and finish a job for a current client. I will NOT let this exhaustion defeat me. I will NOT let feelings of depression and self-doubt stand in my way.

I will surpass my limit!

Will you surpass yours?

um… yea hi!!! 🙈💓 I just have to say that first things first I love ur blog!!! ☺️ it’s just so aesthetic and pretty!!! you tie everything together really well. so kudos!!! secondly, um… I was wondering if you could do a post on how to stop self-destructing? or if you could give any tips on that? it would be most appreciated!!! thank u!! 😇

hello my love!!

thank you so so much for your kind words and my apology in getting back to you.

and here are my top tips to stop self destructing (but i'll make a longer post soon!)

practicing compassion with myself - it's okay to make mistakes, it's okay to not feel like you have it together. but you have to soothe yourself first and tell yourself that YOU GOT THIS, and it will only get better from here

making healthy habits & modifying my routine - i know we all say your routine should be rigid but sometimes it feels like it overwhelms me! whenever im in a self destructive mood i start with easy tasks and slowly build up my energy to get towards my bigger tasks

emotional outlets - finding ways to channel my emotions and honour them. i used to ignore my emotions off anger, frustration etc., and kept it all bottled up but that led to self destruction. journaling, praying, going to the gym or playing cozy games helps me redirect that energy towards something until it passes. then i can regroup.

i hope this helped!!

We Are Always Falling In Love Or Quarreling, Looking For Jobs Or Fearing To Lose Them, Getting Ill And

We are always falling in love or quarreling, looking for jobs or fearing to lose them, getting ill and recovering, following public affairs. If we let ourselves, we shall always be waiting for some distraction or other to end before we can really get down to our work. The only people who achieve much are those who want knowledge so badly that they seek it while the conditions are still unfavorable. Favorable conditions never come.

The Cost of Procrastination: When "Later" Becomes "Never" Shaina Tranquilino November 27, 2023

The Cost Of Procrastination: When "Later" Becomes "Never"Shaina TranquilinoNovember 27, 2023

Procrastination is a universal human tendency that often stems from a variety of factors such as fear, perfectionism, or a lack of motivation. We've all been guilty of pushing tasks to the back burner, convincing ourselves that we'll get to them "sometime." However, the danger lies in the fact that "sometime" can easily transform into "never." In this blog post, we'll explore the consequences of putting things off indefinitely and discuss strategies to overcome the procrastination trap.

The Domino Effect:

One of the primary reasons why "sometime" becomes "never" is the domino effect of delayed actions. When we procrastinate on a task, it often leads to a chain reaction where other responsibilities pile up, creating an overwhelming sense of inertia. This snowball effect can make it increasingly challenging to start or complete any of the delayed tasks, ultimately resulting in missed opportunities and unfulfilled potential.

The Illusion of Infinite Time:

One of the greatest deceptions of procrastination is the illusion of infinite time. We convince ourselves that there will always be another day, another chance to tackle our goals. However, time is a finite resource, and each passing moment brings us closer to missed opportunities and unexplored possibilities. Recognizing the value of time is crucial in breaking free from the procrastination cycle.

Overcoming the Procrastination Trap:

Set Clear Goals and Deadlines: Clearly defined goals with specific deadlines create a sense of urgency, making it less likely for procrastination to set in. Break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps and allocate specific timeframes for each.

Understand the "Why": Reflect on the reasons behind your procrastination. Are you afraid of failure or success? Understanding the root cause can help you address the underlying issues and develop strategies to overcome them.

Prioritize Tasks: Not all tasks are created equal. Prioritize your responsibilities based on urgency and importance. Tackling high-priority tasks first can prevent them from accumulating and becoming insurmountable.

Utilize Productivity Techniques: Experiment with productivity techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique or the Eisenhower Matrix. These methods can help you stay focused, manage your time effectively, and break down tasks into manageable intervals.

Seek Accountability: Share your goals with a friend, family member, or colleague who can hold you accountable. Having someone to check in on your progress can provide the necessary motivation to stay on track.

The phrase "sometimes later becomes never" serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of procrastination. By understanding the reasons behind our tendency to delay tasks and implementing proactive strategies, we can break free from the cycle of inertia and transform "sometime" into "today." Time is a precious resource, and seizing the moment is the key to unlocking our full potential. So, let's embrace the power of now and turn our aspirations into achievements. After all, the only moment we truly have control over is the present.

Navigating Life's Detours: Finding Strength When Things Don't Go Your Way Shaina Tranquilino February 21, 2024

Navigating Life's Detours: Finding Strength When Things Don't Go Your WayShaina TranquilinoFebruary 21,

Life is a journey filled with twists and turns, highs and lows, and unexpected detours. No matter how meticulously we plan, there are moments when things simply don't go our way. While facing setbacks and disappointments can be disheartening, it's crucial to recognize that these experiences are an inevitable part of the human experience. In this blog post, we'll explore the art of resilience and share strategies for finding strength when life takes an unexpected turn.

Embrace the Discomfort: The initial reaction to setbacks is often discomfort and frustration. It's essential to acknowledge these feelings rather than suppress them. Embracing the discomfort allows for a more authentic emotional response, laying the groundwork for processing and moving forward.

Reframe Your Perspective: When faced with challenges, it's easy to adopt a negative mindset. However, reframing your perspective can turn obstacles into opportunities. Instead of viewing a setback as a roadblock, consider it a detour that might lead to unexpected discoveries and personal growth.

Learn from the Experience: Every setback carries valuable lessons. Take the time to reflect on the situation and identify what you can learn from it. Whether it's acquiring new skills, understanding your limitations, or gaining insight into your priorities, the knowledge gained from setbacks can be instrumental in personal development.

Cultivate Resilience: Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity. Cultivating resilience involves building a strong support system, developing problem-solving skills, and nurturing a positive mindset. Recognize that setbacks are temporary, and your ability to navigate them with resilience can contribute to long-term success.

Adjust Your Goals: Sometimes, when things don't go as planned, it's an opportunity to reassess your goals. Are your aspirations realistic? Do they align with your current values and circumstances? Adjusting your goals can lead to a more meaningful and achievable path forward.

Seek Support: During challenging times, it's crucial to lean on your support network. Friends, family, or mentors can provide guidance, perspective, and emotional support. Sharing your experiences with others fosters a sense of connection and reminds you that you're not alone in facing setbacks.

Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself when things don't go your way. Avoid self-blame and negative self-talk. Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same understanding and empathy you would offer to a friend facing a similar situation.

Life's journey is filled with unpredictable moments, and setbacks are an inevitable part of the process. When things don't go your way, it's an opportunity for self-reflection, growth, and resilience. By embracing discomfort, reframing perspectives, learning from experiences, and seeking support, you can navigate detours with strength and emerge stronger on the other side. Remember, setbacks are not the end of the road; they are merely a bend in the path toward personal development and fulfillment.
