Sad to report the passing of Actor Kenpachiro Satsuma (1947-2023)
Kenpachiro Satsuma has died
He was 76 years old.
Cause of death listed as Interstitial Pneumonia. Satsuma was born Yasuaki Madeda in Kagoshima Prefecture on May 27, 1947. After working in a steel mill in 1965, he joined the Nikkatsu Acting Institute in 1967 and began appearing in films under such stage names Ryoma Kusaka and Kengo Nakayama. Satsuma is best remembered as a monster suit actor for Toho films such as 1971's Godzilla vs. Hedorah (in the role of Hedorah), 1972's Godzilla vs. Gigan (in the role of Gigan), and for portraying Godzilla during the Heisei film period from 1984's Return of Godzilla through 1995's Godzilla vs. Destroyah.

Actor Akira Nakao died on May 16 at the age of 81. He appeared in six Godzilla films, first as the bellicose Colonel Takaaki Aso in the final three Heisei entries, then Prime Minister Hayato Igarashi in the Kiryu duology, and finally the original Gotengo commander in Godzilla Final Wars. (That turned out to be a fitting sendoff - after years of sitting in meetings and control rooms, he got to take on Godzilla in the field.) He served the same role as Jun Tazaki in the 60s Toho kaiju films: an instantly recognizable authority figure. May he rest in peace.

I don't have any special memories with Dragon Ball nor most of Toriyama's works, but I have nothing but respect and respect for him.
I was never a die hard 1D fan, but I did love their music when I was younger, so this is heartbreaking to hear considering he was so young. Rest in peace Liam
Guys please be respectful towards reiky and his family/ loved ones and grieve him as the person he was and not as a fancast. I can’t believe this has to be said but damn some of you are really insensitive. Yes reiky was a very important person to this community but not taking his death seriously and only talking about him as James is really REALLY fucking wrong.

Goodbye Meg. 5th January 2005 - 8th of July 2023 We adopted her when she was 11yo and got 7 wonderful years with her before it was time. She loved belly rubs and stomping all over and lay on our keyboards because how dare our hands touch something that wasn't her. She used to flop on my drawing tablet until I got a digital screen version... then she just parked herself in front of it. Gonna miss her lots.

Her time spent here changed so many of our lives for the better, and I know thousands of people, including myself, wouldn't be where we are today if not for her. She helped me through such difficult times. Her videos comforted me when I needed it the most.
