Congradulations to you!

It's interesting How different This prayer is in portuguese. It says the same thing but sounds so different. I guess it's because of the fancy talk in english.

Finally got a Rosary!

Finally Got A Rosary!

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Oh clement, Oh loving, Oh sweet Virgin Mary.

Sometimes my rosary is deliberate, reverent, focused. Sometimes it is hurried, scattered. Sometimes it is mystical and emotional, and sometimes it is dull and almost trite. Sometimes I pray it with fervor, other times with desperation, often with a sense of duty and diligence. But I keep praying it, no matter the mood, or circumstance, or even the experiences I feel while praying it. Because I have found that daily consistent prayer of the rosary is mediating graces into my life that I am so very often blind to. It is an act of love and devotion and a practice in the diligence of ongoing sanctification. It grounds me and lifts my eyes heavenward. I am so grateful for the rosary <3

It's a tie between the 3rd of the Sorrowful Mysteries, The Crowning With Thorns, the 5th of the Glorious Mysteries, The Coronation, and the 4th Glorious Mystery, The Assumption. I like these three because when I say a Hail Mary, I imagine it adds a thorn to Jesus' crown, a star to Mary's Coronation, and a flower to the painting depicting Mary's Assumption. These are my favorite depictions - sadly I couldn't figure out the artist for the Sorrowful Mystery, but the Coronation painting was done by Diego Velázquez, and the Assumption by Juan de Jesus Munera Ochoa.

Hey Catholics!! Reblog with your favorite mystery of the Rosary and your favorite depiction of it!!!

My favorite mystery is the second one of the Joyful Mysteries, The Visitation. I just love the complete and absolute joy that the Virgin Mary and St Elizabeth feel when they meet (as well as St John, I mean the kid freaking jumped for joy in St Elizabeth's womb he was so happy). All that joy is just impalpable and almost unmatched.

And here is my favorite depiction of it, by Amber Knorr.

Does anyone else ever enter “trippy mode” when praying the Rosary while falling asleep?

Like so many times during the back half of the 3rd decade, there’s suddenly out of nowhere this surreal feeling of being halfway between asleep & awake where the sands of time turn into maple syrup. And then I’ll start forgetting to move my finger to the next bead and am never sure if the bead I’m on has been prayed 0 times or 3 times like I’m in a fever dream

Listen I know consumerism and excessive materiality are bad and the physical trappings of the faith are not essentials or replacements for faith itself but also I am just a girl and my brain goes feral for saint medallions and icons and rosaries and art and relics so really I’m just like if a crow was catholic

Oct 7th Feast Day

Today in the Catholic calendar is the Feast of the Holy Rosary instituted by Pope Pius V to celebrate the anniversary of the defeat of the Turkish fleet at the battle of Lepanto on the first Sunday in October 1571, which ended the threat of Muslim domination of the Mediterranean and was ascribed in part to the prayers and processions of the Rosary confraternity in Rome. Later the feast was moved to the fixed date of 7 October. It is interesting that this feast day to celebrate the end of Muslim warlords in the Mediterranean coincides with the date other Muslim warlords entered Israel to maim and murder. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for your people Israel on this first anniversary of that horrible day. Pray that the innocent are returned, that the innocents on both sides in the midst of war will not be harmed, that Muslim terrorism in the Middle East will have an end, and that enduring peace for all peoples would finally be found. Amen.

The Profound Benefits Of Praying The Rosary

Throughout history, individuals seeking solace, guidance, and spiritual connection have turned to prayer as a powerful tool. Among the numerous forms of prayer, one stands out for its profound impact on millions of believers worldwide - the rosary. This beautiful and contemplative practice holds immense benefits that extend beyond religious boundaries, offering peace, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection with oneself and a higher power. In this blog post, we will explore some of the remarkable advantages of praying the rosary.

1. Tranquility in Times of Chaos: In our fast-paced modern world filled with stressors and distractions, finding moments of inner tranquility is crucial for maintaining emotional well-being. The repetitive recitation of prayers while holding the beads provides an opportunity for stillness and reflection. As each bead slips through our fingers, we are transported to a place of calmness and serenity within ourselves.

2. Enhanced Focus and Concentration: The rhythmic nature of praying the rosary aids in developing focus and concentration skills. Through this practice, our minds learn to ignore external distractions and turn inward towards prayerful thoughts or intentions. Regularly engaging in this meditative exercise can improve mental acuity even outside prayer sessions.

3. Deepening One's Relationship with God or a Higher Power: Praying the rosary fosters a sincere connection with God or any other divine entity one may believe in. Each decade offers an opportunity to reflect upon various aspects of faith such as virtues, mysteries, or events from scripture. This intimate dialogue helps strengthen personal spirituality by promoting self-reflection, gratitude, forgiveness, and trust in a higher power.

4. A Source of Comfort during Difficult Times: Life presents us with trials that can sometimes feel overwhelming. During these challenging periods, turning to the rosary can provide solace like no other form of prayer can offer. By seeking solace in the repetitive prayers and meditations, the rosary becomes a source of comfort, reminding us that we are not alone and that there is always hope.

5. A Pathway to Inner Peace: Praying the rosary allows individuals to enter into a state of deep peace and inner harmony. The soothing rhythm of reciting Hail Marys and contemplating on sacred mysteries has a calming effect on the mind and body. This peacefulness carries into daily life, promoting emotional stability, resilience, and an overall sense of well-being.

6. Cultivating Virtues and Personal Growth: The rosary serves as a powerful tool for personal growth by encouraging the cultivation of virtues such as patience, humility, compassion, and self-discipline. As one engages in this prayerful practice regularly, they become more aware of their actions, attitudes, and intentions - leading to positive behavioural changes over time.

Praying the rosary is undoubtedly a transformative spiritual practice with far-reaching benefits for people from diverse backgrounds. It offers solace amidst chaos, strengthens focus and concentration skills, deepens one's relationship with God or a higher power, provides comfort during challenging times, nurtures inner peace, and fosters personal growth through virtuous living. Whether you are religious or simply seeking a means to connect with your spirituality in a profound way, adding the rosary to your prayer routine can bring about remarkable transformations within yourself.
