Rather rough image, but I felt inspired to make something haha. I kinda want to animate this as a wallpaper? I might want to vectorize this work? Also, LMAO just looking at this I realize I could've gotten the sharp areas around the staff, but I guess the staff is eating the wishes? Oh, well. It was fun to draw it and procrastinate on what I'm supposed to be doing!
An early sketch for page 16- I'm at the halfway point at last! From here the drawing get pretty complicated and the crowd scenes even greater in scale.
A lot of research went into this segment of the story, because it centers on the raid of the Stonewall Inn. Specific dialogue spoken by side characters was drawn as much as possible from accounts I discovered in my reading.
For example: the dialogue spoken by the first officer through the door, "Police! We’re taking the place!" is accurate for the time period and this particular raid. Law enforcement would make regular raids on bars suspected of serving alcohol to the LGBT community at the time. This is where the public "illegality" of their enforcement centered, and it was a regular occurence. The mob owned the bar and would force patrons to sign a book upon entering the premises, both for the purposes of establishing the bar as a private after hours club, where drinking could be conducted at all hours. The ledger also served as leverage for the mafia looking to extort blackmail money from better known patrons lest they reveal this segment of their private life.
Ironically, for much of the next few decades, LGBT bar culture was central to community in many places, for some the only place they knew where others might easily be identified or be identified in return. With the openness of the last decade or so, many of these places have vanished or receded from public spaces.

Pt-BR: digamos que eu fiquei vendo alguns vídeos sobre garotas magicas e acabei ficando um pouco inspirado, apesar de ter ficado do jeito que imaginei, não ficou muito bom, em questão de cores que foi um inferno (cabelo principalmente) e de elementos que coloquei acabei só desistindo, enfim depois (provavelmente) posto uma versão melhorzinha desta demonha. ENG: let's say I watched some videos about magical girls and ended up getting a lil’ inspired, despite having turned out the way I imagined, it wasn't very good, in terms of colors it was hell (mainly because of the hair) and elements that I put I ended up just giving up, later (probably) I will post a better version of this thing.
PT-BR: eu tentei misturar dois oc’s meus em um personagem só, a “mascara” é na verdade o rosto dela, os olhos de cima sendo a Candy/Carolina e os olhos de baixo sendo Luxy/Larissa. ENG: I tried to mix two oc's of mine into one character, the "mask" is actually her face, the top eyes being Candy/Carolina and the bottom eyes being Luxy/Larissa.

Sometimes I forget that it's ok to just have one of "those days".
Took up an art challenge from a friend to paint the hair of a figure the color of my shirt and eyes the color of my birthstone. Unfortunately, I was wearing plaid.
