Hello! You liked the thing I posted, so here's a STS ask! No pressure, though. Answer whenever, or not at all. :D The question: How do you get yourself through writers' block?

I usually revisit whatever inspired me to start my current WIP, or listen to my character playlists. Or if I don’t yet have character playlists, I’ll make them. For some reason, music is what helps me get into the writing mood, since so many of my WIPs, and my current, published novel, were inspired by songs. Tawagoto Speaker perfectly describes Kunio (MC of The Tengu And The Angel)’s relationship with his mother, and Black Dahlia is the perfect summation of Nathaniel’s relationship with his ex, Theo.

Happy STS! Do any of your characters garden, and what do they garden? If not, then what flowers do you associate with your characters?

Thanks for the ask! None of my characters garden, but I do associate Nathaniel (Love interest of my debut novel, The Tengu And The Angel) with white roses, because white roses are one of Nathaniel’s motifs. White roses represent innocence and pure love, and they’re also England’s national flower. Nathaniel is an exceptionally pure and innocent soul who’s way too nice for his own good, and has a hard time saying ‘no’, especially if he’s being asked a favour by someone he cares about. He also dresses like a Victorian gentleman, and he does his best to act like one too.

Artifacts and Politics

 Langdon Winner pointed out that technical things have political qualities in his notable essay, "Do Artifacts have Politics?".

Two ways in which technical artifacts can contain political properties are:

(1)"a technical device or system is used to settle a community issue", (2)"man-made systems requiring or compatible with certain types of political relations."

The most cited example in his essay is the height of overpasses on Long Island in NY. Robert Moses, who has a class-bias and racial prejudice, designed the overpasses discouraging the presence of buses on his parkways. Automobile owing whites of "upper" and "comfortable middle" classes would be free to use the parkways. The poor and racial minorities who normally used public transit were kept off the road because of the height of overpasses (Winner 1980). Without verbal signs and making laws, artifacts can perform human group formation and segregation.

In 2020, his statue and his design" became controversial in the growth of Black Lives Matter movement. Residents in Babylon have been advocating for the removal of a statue of Robert Moses and a petition started by Vanessa Cardino, Long Island now has over 12,600 signatures (Young 2020).

Camera Phones as Equalizer

American people use phones as weapons to defend themselves and document things in the BLM movement. Camera phones can be weapons like guns but in different ways. Philosopher Hanna Arendt once discussed that power is generated and maintained by communicative practices, on the other hand, violence is instrumental as a physical force. A camera phone, a phone that is equipped with came, as weapons are more related to Arendt’s definition of “power” even though it is an instrument.

The best part about this pairing that I can see them as best friends (besties for centuries) and as romantic partners at the same time. They have a good understanding of one other and they are each other's only link to their past, their struggles, their trauma and their faith on the Sanctuary and their love manages to survive just like them. But they are also so so funny, as well as I see them slightly kinky and unhinged af, they have no filter and why not their shared hobby is roast the young saints. Slightly kinky and I like to think they treat their peace after revival like a honeymoon. They deserved it af.

I wasn't interested in the idea of them being together because I genuinely have no idea what was like. Until ROP arrived, we thank ROP and Tsunakan-san on this account. I didn't expect to see them as kids but my goodness they are so so cute. I hc that they still remained some contact over the years and became a bit friendly over the years though I'm sure Krishna still teases Shaka and Shaka got his clapbacks ready. Weirdly I like to think that through Krishna, Shaka find out about Kanon being Sea Dragon but hearing Poseidon is being "delayed", Shaka had an inkling that likely a civil war will happen at the watery realm and Kanon will be defeated, Shaka counts on Krishna for doing well. In my mind Shaka is the only gold saint who is close to a Mariner (Camus is the exception and he doesn't know himself)

I don't necessarily hate it, its more like I don't get it. I see them more as friends, good buddies or even rarely friends with benefits. I feel the trio will contain mostly manipulation and idk I sense a lack of chemistry between them as a romantic trio, but as a friendship, that is more more interesting to me, especially they know the corrupt system and how they have to participate because they know the half-truth, if they like it or not. (I like to the other three later on)

They are married, and officially canon (I'm telling you please read the manga just for them you shall not be disappointed). I will love Sorrento's loyalty is not to Poseidon as he realises throughout the Poseidon arc, but is to Julian. He cares deeply and in many layers for that blue haired himbo than to any greek g-d, I mean with exception to Athena but that is more like Athena is the guardian of the Earth and by linking with her, he and Julian can live well. Sorrento was Julian's bi awakening, yes Julian is bi-at Sorrento's side also their relationship in general is sweet and surprisingly functional considering the power dynamic of each other status as Julian being from a powerful affluent family with links with Pose which gives me an idea of them dealing with that. Plus Sorrento could use his flute in case Julian gets very bratty. Also this image below is them and their three adopted kids, yes they are their kids :D

it's a interesting pairing I see as friendly exs and works well platonically (as well as they occasionally are friends with benefits), heavily involved more in the past but in the present, it's a mutual, light friendship, not intense. (also both are pretty, it's inevitable ha ha ha)
