Spinister, i love you so so much, stupid silly doctor boy
Ratchet: All right let’s test this out. I’ve got a patient here, and as you can see if we open up his leg chassis, there’s a pretty big fracture. How would you repair this? Spinister: Well first thing’s first I’m gonna take the squiggly parts out, ‘cause he doesn’t need ‘em, then I’m gonna make the energon do a whirly-gig into the tube over here, slip this whangdangler under the slicey boys, jimmy the shiny spoony bit back up, melt a couple oopsy-doodles together, *CRACK* the crunchy bang-bangs back into place, wipe it down, and wrap it up for space Christmas.
Ratchet: …..Well you’ve fixed it. More efficiently than I’ve ever seen it done, and using a method I have never even conceived of. Spinister: Mmhm Ratchet: And could you possibly tell me the name of the part you just repaired? Spinister: It’s the Up-And-Down Spirally Part that goes Brrrrrr
Ratchet:

god..... i love them so much... they mean so much to me augh...

Random ideas for a hypothetical Scavengers (mini) series
So I made a google doc a few nights ago and filled it with random ass ideas for how a cartoony likely-episodic Scavengers series could go... It was around the same time I wanted to get to animating a Scavs-related thing but no promises there or to this ever becoming more than rambles
Anyways... heres an unorganized collection of my silly thoughts:
POST-WAR!! War’s over, Autobot-Decepticon alliance is great and dandy for everyone except of course the folks who got left behind and forgotten by respective High Commands and have had to make their own dealings in space to get thru life and shit; focusing on the daily struggles of your average low of the low genericons/bots, the Scavengers
Optimus and Megatron are definitely married (trust); we go the IDW MTMTE route but instead of Megs off on a quest with Roddy and gang, he’s with Optimus and they both publicly surrender/call truce or whatever on-video and agree to help repair cybertron instead of squabbling, sending a message to all cybertronians taking refuge amongst the stars blah blah blah its time to go home (pilot should open with this i think, set the worldview up straight from the beginning)
It could either be set in the slums of like some populated city or smthn, like maybe Dead End of Kaon or smthn OR… now consider… Set NOT on Cybertron, literally anywhere BUT Cybertron; the Scavs wander space, at least every few episodes or so would be set in a different planet or smthn, having them do their usual shenanigans and (failing) their supply/scavenging runs, as well as the occasional star station too for like a pit stop i guess; there’d be atleast one episode where they go to earth probably
Main characters (scavs duh, but lemme write some shit down here rq):
Krok - the dutiful, ever-patient (one can of engex away from losing it) leader of the Scavengers; he’s the one that usually has the single functioning brain cell
Crankcase - the skillful pilot of the crew’s beloved Decepticon-hijacked Autobot vessel, always in a sour mood, think TFA Ratchet but up the old man crankiness to 500; really good at fixing things (mechanic)
Spinister - a little stupid… all the stupid actually… but he’s got things rattling in there too, don’t worry! The Scavengers’ medic; would probably be Cybertron’s greatest surgeon if it weren’t for everything else
Fulcrum - Defunct?? Rejected?? Something-class Decepticon, a bit of a coward, found in a dumpster by Misfire; he’s a technician too! Score!
Misfire - ideas are about as good as his aim (which is not at all); the really really talkative and social one; rejected Rainmaker/Seeker (bro didnt pass Decepticon Academy, rip)
Additional members that get added to the crew later on!
Grimlock - resident Dinobot and the only Autobot on the crew (for now or smthn idk), thinking of either having them find him during the pilot episode or a bit later on?; i think Krok would definitely have a thing where he’s super wary of him until a big character development episode thing happens like in MTMTE #46
Nickel - hmmm idk yet.. Maybe a former high ranking decepticon officer whose position has been stripped from her the more fucked up and bad the faction ended up becoming because she was very vocal about its problems til the current day? (I just don’t think her being connected to the DJD would work here womp womp)
Flywheels (unsure) - some mech that tagged along with them during one random shenanigans episode
MP3 / or some other new human character (unsure) - they have an episode where they go to Earth and befriend silly human… may or may not keep them, maybe they could be an honorary Scavenger but only appears sometimes or stays on Earth but keeps in touch with the Scavs (look I just think having a human on the crew would be kinda silly and funky for the dynamic)
Meanies to the crew (weekly bad guy):
Novastorm - leader of the Rainmakers; has beef with Misfire
Skullcruncher- Krok hates his guts; he’s the TFA Sentinel to Krok’s TFA Prime, probably served together on like whatever the equivalent of a Warworld ship would be in this
Raiders??? Space pirates??? Idk but I’d def make em be related to Spinister’s past or smthn (this was inspired by some fanfic I read a bit ago, I think Fool’s Paradise on AO3)
Needlenose? (Spin trusted him, betrayed copter boy :((( or smthn)
Scorponok - probably the biggest threat of the show (ofc not in universe), but he’d be like IDW Scorponok in that one Scavs issue, all kinda silly and dramatic but def a threat, he kinda reminds me of Dino/BW Megatron a bit
DJD (absolutely unsure, maybe a passing mention or not at all) - would probably have to sillify them a bit (a lot, idk how the hell Cyberverse managed it with Tarn)...
There's more in the doc but they're not fully formed ideas yet... My countless hours scrolling the Scavengers tags on tumblr have also given me ideas for certain kinds of episodes that could happen but again, nothing concretely written down yet
If I have the energy or remember this, I'm def gonna be updating it with some more ideas cuz whether this becomes real or not, its fun!! Maybe I could write it as a fic one day or if someones wants to idk
Okay bai bai for now, I gotta eep 👋
After getting a bit more into IDW, I've been seeing some fanart on here tagged "lost light fest (insert current year)" and I've been wondering if there's lost light fest 2024
Is there an account putting up schedules for these? If so, when does it start? Just curious, and I haven't really been able to find anything about LL fest for this year
randomly going thru TFW2005 IDW threads for the funnies and found this transcript of some old JRO interview or smthn and AAAAAGHHHH.... LOOK AT WHAT WE COULDVE HAD GRAHHH

[ID: Two screenshots of excerpts from a transcript of an old interview/QnA with James Roberts. The first image reads:
What was the plan with 'Connie' [Scorponok's human baby, the Firstborn] and the actual plan with her if you could've had more time? She would've been in broad terms part of the Scavengers and have them looking after her. She would've remained young, no artificial aging. She would've been wanted by Scorponok for furthering his plan. There were plans for one of the Scavengers to sacrifice themselves to protect her. Never got fleshed out much further than that.
While, the second image reads:
What was the Scavengers arc going to be about? It was originally going to be a 5-part storyline, which was going to wrap up their adventures. I wanted them to have a trade to themselves. It was going to be a longer, more detailed version of what you saw in issues 14 and 15. More scenes, more locations, a bit of a chase. There would have been, vaguely, a "Last Stand" feel about it - I had some sort of floating oil rig that they had to weaponize and defend. Maybe to subvert Dying of the Light.
END ID]

I can finally post these!
This was my entry (and two sticker designs) for @leviathanzines decepticon zine, and was simultaneously the most fun and the most frustrating piece of art I’ve worked on for a long time.
IM SCREAMING IM SCREAMING IM SCREAMING IM GOING INSANE, THIS IS LIKE A POST FROM WAY BACK 2015 BUT OH MY GOD IM SO GLAD THIS FOUND MY DASH
I OVE THIS SO SO MUCH, KROK JUST LETTING IT ALL OUT ON MEGATRON LIKE THAT???? HES SO?? THATS SO FUCKING- OH MY GODDD
GOD, look, I thought them meeting Megatron and being all wide-eyed and in awe in LL was cute but now I'm just thinking how fucking powerful and good it would be if the series had more time to marinate and explore this concept
Like yeah, in reality, I think the Scavs SHOULD be mad at Megatron, they're a representation of the Decepticon rank and file, the disposables, mere cannon fodder during the war... and their leader does what? Give all that up and decides to join up with the Autobots, wearing their insignia as if the millions of years of revolution and words he spouted at them to fight meant nothing??? that sucks man
GODDDD, ONCE AGAIN I LOVE THIS SO MUCH (and pop the fuck off Krok, thats my fucking GOAT)
Okay but consider this:
The Scavengers on the Lost Light.
Now, I could go down the humourous lane, you know, with Skids not wanting to lose face and pretending Misfire really IS is arch-nemesis (and Mifire enjoying that a little too much, though who is that mech anyway? Did he ever get a drink with him?), or Spinister helping out in the medbay (”Don’t shoot that! We need it!” “It’s looking at me funny!”), and all that good stuff.
But let’s be serious for a second: let’s have them come face to face with Megatron.
Grimlock growls at him, because something in his shattered cerebro-cortex reminds him that this one is bad. It takes the whole W.A.P. crew to keep him somewhat calm (ie. just growling and no fire-breathing).
Spinister is confused: there’s something not right with this picture. He’s not sure of a lot of things (that the whole isn’t glaring at him, that the lamps aren’t mocking him), but Megatron being their leader, Megatron being on their side is something he’s sure of! So this…. this isn’t right.
Misfire goes into his usual chatter. Only instead of forming really long sentences, he keeps breaking them, making incoherent strings of words and pointing at their ex-leader’s chest. This is his version of being speechless. And very distressed. For those who know him, it’s super disturbing to see the happy-go-lucky jet this way.
Crankcase’s feelings are so vitriolic, he’s feeling sick. He took the DJD right on because he believed that the badge was his, not theirs. And now more than ever, he’s feeling like he needs to defend that. The normally loud-mouthed mechanic just shakes silently. He does put a hand on Misfire’s shoulder, though. Because.
Fulcrum should be afraid, could be angry, instead he’s bitter. So this is the grand leader he was born under? The one he was told would lead them to greatness and gelactic conquest. The one that led him to full-body restructuration and impending death. The one that led himself into the Autobots’ rank? He’s always accepted the values of his faction -his culture?-, not knowing anything else as he was born under them. And then he took a stand because a bunch of misfits showed him that these values weren’t that theoritical after all. He’s always accepted Megatron’s worth at face value, not having seen him in action back in the days. And then he met him, an Autobot badge wedging a line between them with much more effectiveness than rank or power. The crew he’s part of is worth sacrificing himself for them, this mech is not. The techie grits his denta, glaring down at the floor.
Krok just stares silently. Expression unreadable.
The whole of them are accepted on board, more or less blending in the general craziness. The longer they stay, the more the crew learns about their adventures, their stories… their struggles…. Megatron hears all that. And, one night, as he’s walking down the corridors because he can’t recharge, he ends up at the observation deck. And Krok is there. Looking at the stars, probably trying to figure out where his old unit is.
Megatron approaches him and, awkwardly, asks how the Scavengers are finding themselves.
This is when Krok let’s it rip. He doesn’t pull a gun on Megatron, oh no, he uses on his ex-leader the very same weapons that made him the figurehead of the Decepticons: words.
“My crew are the ones you have never seen, Megatron, the ones you sent off to be killed each day in the name of your revolution. And like so many like them, they went on each time you gave the order. Because they believed in your ideals, they believed in you. No matter what horrors they saw, no matter how insignificant they knew they were to you, in the end your words, the ones that stood against the senate and the low life they had, were enough to make them dive right into battle. For you.
You, the revolutioner with a vision. You, the gladiator with the power. You, the one that left them behind. And now you enquire about these people?
This isn’t just about being left on the battlefield, too. You turned your back on us to what? Atone for your mistakes? Well then, maybe you should start by making up to the ones whose life you changed so drastically. Because the Autobots? They might be the “good guys” from some people’s perspective, but they weren’t counting in you like we did. And everybody seems to be forgetting that fact, you the first, Megatron.
Out there, there is and army of desperate civilians that turned into bloodthirsty soldiers and they are now left in a daze. There are camps full of walking woundeds whose future are compromised by unrepairable wounds. There are people that you made move as one by sheer belief and then stood up for something better. Or just something “good”, because, apparently, we’re the bad guys and have been fighting eons while knowing full well how wrong we were.
You want to take responsibility, Megatron? Take. It. But all of it.”
Somehow, during his tirade, Krok started facing Megatron, advancing more and more on him until they were nearly chest to chest. Well, chest to faceplate, because Megatron is so big. It’d be almost funny if it wasn’t for the Scavenger’s optics.
Not an ounce of fear in them. Only righteous fury.
And Megatron, who back in the days would have turned him into slag for his insolence, now can only take in just how much he’s truly failed his people.

Drew this as I had the idea to order a custom shirt with an open matrix and this particular Rodimus quote from the end of Lost Light because I love it too much <33
Was planning to wear this to my viewing of TF One but I think it might not arrive in time lolz

I never noticed I never posted this on here! An old print I’d done for tfcon when Lost Light was just ending!

Being stuck in Texas can't stop me from drawing my favorite attack helicopter.

big w for Dratchet nation today
