Stillborn

WangXian ABO AU Where WWX Delved Into Necromancy Because Of A Stillbirth

This was the first ever AU I conceptualized before really diving into GDC, which means I didn’t know much other than who was who, what they looked like, and what the setup was; and of course it’s got ABO dynamics. When don’t my AU’s have ABO dynamics? My line of thought was, Huh. What if WWX and LWJ were together before shit hit the fan, and they almost had a child together, but that child died in the womb? ...What a great reason for WWX to delve into demonic cultivation!

WWX blames himself for not being strong enough to birth a healthy child and fears that LWJ will leave him.

LWJ blames himself for not being a good enough partner, for not taking better care of WWX during his pregnancy, and fears that WWX will leave him.

Both believe they themselves are at fault and that the other blames them.

LWJ’s distance and silence doesn’t help WWX’s mental state, and so he dives into necromancy in an attempt to resurrect their dead baby, hoping that it’ll keep LWJ by his side.

...Long story short, it goes about as well as you’d expect.

“Lan...Lan Zhan, why are you so angry? I’ve brought our child back to us! Aren’t you happy? Why are you rejecting me?

“...I didn’t do good enough, did I?

“I’m not good enough!”

Some afterthoughts:

Let’s assume WWX’s lost his golden core by the time he’s become pregnant.

WangXian got together sometime before the Sunshot Campaign.

Initially, WWX hadn’t delved into demonic cultivation until after his stillbirth, but let’s change that and say WWX had gotten into it for the sake of getting revenge on the Wens as he does in the canonverse, but perhaps LWJ convinces him to stop practicing until, y’know, WWX’s downward spiral.

I would like to see this 20-page essay, for I am smitten with this idea.

I adore the idea of wwx being a babysitter to lsz, ljy and jl. Can you just imagine that? And all three kiddos trying to fight for his attention ;;

OMYGOD YOU HAPPEN TO HIT ONE OF MY WEAKNESSES asdfgjhkls mama!wwx ahhhhh but okay i really like this so im gonna rant about it i pity all of you who sends me quick stuff expecting quick answers then i start rambling lol

- i’m incorporating the idea that wwx doesn’t die and is taken back into cloud recesses and is under surveillance there so it’s like a “prison” for him but not really??? basically he ain’t allowed to leave and he undergoes some sort of regular “cleansing” so demonic cultivation won’t eat him up

- anyhow, there’s a rumor among the kids and junior disciples that there’s an area within the heart of cloud recesses that supposedly houses a “demon” and no one is allowed to venture there unless it’s lqr, lxc, and lwj (+ other senior disciples and sect heads)

- lsz (maybe around 4-6yo??) obv knows all about this bc that’s his mama over there and he’s one of the rare cases that’s allowed to visit THEN ljy and the other lan kids start talking about this “forbidden place” and they decide to do a “courage test” by going there in the middle of the night; lsz tries to explain and stop them but these kids are on a mission (“there’s no demon there!” “how do you know?” “i’ve been there” “adfsjkfk and you never invited us??” “i dont have power over who gets to go there as a lot of senior disciples that the yiling patriarch is still -” “YILING PATRIARCH???? ok team, we’re def going in tonight”)

- so they go there with talismans ready (“you dont even know how to use them jingyi” “i just slap it on the creature” “that’s not -” “hush, we’re here”) and they find wwx drinking emperor’s smile and there’s this cricket noise “…” before THE screaming starts (“i swear i wasn’t drinking alcohol!” “mama! you’re not allowed!” “there’s a civilian here!!! quick we need to save him from the demonic yiling patriarch!” “demonic yiling pa - hey! hold on a second” “mama! let go of the jar!” “let’s go senior we’re gonna protect you from that devil” “devil??? i am not a devil???”)

- it ends with the lan kids being acquainted w/ wwx and absolutely adoring him esp when they saw how “courageous” he was in bothering and hanging out with the hanguang-jun without fear

- on one of jc’s visit (bc obv i cant stand my yunmengjiang duo being at super angsty bad terms), he’s finally allowed to bring jl (3-5yo??) and meets wwx and ofc wwx super dotes on him (“ahh i hope you get all of the good genes which is obv everything from shijie” “oi, greet him properly” “ahhhh and i hope you don’t get the temperament and attitude of your uncle jiang cheng” “wei wuxian!!!”)

- jl loves the attention and the funny stories of wwx although he’d act like he doesn’t really (“oh dear look at those vibes hmm def jzx and jc goodness child i told you to get the BEST genes not the worst)

- one day jl’s visit coincides with the lsz and ljy then ljy demands a story from wwx to which jl says “stories are for babies” which makes ljy reply “if anyone’s the baby here, it’s YOU” “i am not a baby! i am five!” “yeah well im six! which makes YOU the baby!” “take that back!” *cue cute stomping of the foot* “go on your fours and start crawling away, baaaabbyyyyy” AND THUS, starts the war (lsz is smart and takes the time the two are brawling to go to wwx and sit on his lap while wwx just laughs and cheers on the fighting kids

- jc whips zidian at wwx later for not stopping the fight plus a lecture from lqr while wwx hides behind lwj

- WE CAN DEF HAVE MORE BUT I’LL END UP WITH A 20-PAGED ESSAY HAHAHA

AHHHH I LOVE THIS!!!!!

I’ve been wanting a Fatal Frame AU for the longest time. Thank you for this.

It’s a true blessing. 🙏

In Which I Have A Shitton Of Ideas On A Fatal Frame AU For MDZS Because Why Not, But Only One Picture

In which I have a shitton of ideas on a Fatal Frame AU for MDZS because why not, but only one picture came out of it. Sometimes you’re so constipated, nothing comes out. I have way too much and illustrating all of these will be a major pain sobs.

AU since most of us don’t know how exactly WWX died yet: What if he was spirited away instead of full-blown dead?

Set sometime after WWX was announced to have died

LWJ, being where the chaos is, ends up helping someone with no money, but with a Camera Obscura a camera that can take spirit photos and exorcise resentful energy from spirits to barter with. He proves that it’s real right then and there by snapping a photo of LWJ on the spot, revealing his mother behind him.

Back in Cloud Recesses, LWJ snaps a picture of LXC to reveal their father behind him before taking a selfie with LXC; a family photo ish with their parents’ spirits behind them

“What if Wei Ying is the same way with A-Yuan?” LWJ snaps a photo of little Sizhui, but no WWX. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow in the Burial Mounds. He goes to sleep with the camera placed somewhere in his room.

The next thing he sees after drifting off to sleep is a derelict version of his room. He picks up the camera, wanders out to see 15yo WWX perched on the wall (like most of the harmless ghost encounters).

He snaps a photo of the specter, who notices him and runs away. LWJ follows.

Most Fatal Frame gameplay consists of wandering around and unraveling the backstory of the unknown setting through notes scattered all over the place, but instead of that, since the setting is known to the protag, it ends up being LWJ looking at snippets of WWX’s life when he wasn’t around to witness it and following WWX’s constantly-running specter while photographing malicious ghosts in the way. Because they’re ghosts, neither Bichen nor the guqin work; and because it’s some alterworld, there are no talismans around.

It culminates in him finding Yiling Laozu!WWX as a ghost(?) chock full of resentful energy, driven insane. By that point LWJ has understood the sheer weight of WWX’s emotional burdens and cue final boss fight as depicted in the picture

Fatal Frame has multiple endings depending on your choices, so endings below:

Worst ending (Canon?): Don’t complete any item sidequests. Final boss fight is quite easy as it only consists of photographing WWX who just charges at LWJ. After the resentful energy has all been exorcised, WWX disappears into thin air just like the other ghosts LWJ fought. LWJ shouts “Wei Ying!!!” but ends up shouting himself awake and, as usual, wakes up alone. *Fatal Frame has this notorious habit(ish) of making the worst endings canon, as seen in FF1 and FF2, which leads to FF3

Good ending: Complete the item sidequest for the Spirit Containing Pouch. Final boss fight is the same as the worst ending, except at the end of the fight, LWJ uses the pouch right after all the resentful energy has been exorcised and WWX was beginning to fade away. He wakes up with the pouch right beside his pillow. He then plays Inquiry, and there are responses… (“Are you Wei Ying?” “Yes.”)

Best ending: Complete the item sidequests for Chen Qing and Suibian. Final boss is significantly harder, because both items just flew to WWX when LWJ arrives in the final boss stage, so he can summon ghosts and slash around/his hits are harder. Right after WWX is all exorcised, instead of fading away, he collapses to the ground. LWJ drops the camera to catch him. He wakes up with WWX beside him shortly afterwards. WWX opens his eyes; clear without any resentful energy and LWJ gives him the biggest hug. WWX is confused as hell because “tf dude? don’t you hate me to bits?? what’s going on?” LXC comes over after hearing the little ruckus and gives WWX some much-needed exposition on how LWJ truly feels about him.

EXTRA SCENARIO based on the best ending

Shortly afterwards I speculate that LWJ and LXC will just decide to plain hide WWX from the rest of the world hoping that JC and JGY don’t notice that Chen Qing and Suibian have magically disappeared as they are back with WWX; while WWX is all ????????????? ????????????????? ?????????????? how did i come back to life ?????????????????

The night after, LWJ (and WWX) go to sleep with the camera still inside the room but they don’t go to the alterworld; the camera stopped working during the day.

But the next morning LWJ finds WWX tinkering with the camera (“Lan Zhan, no wonder it’s not working, the gears inside have been displaced. Did you drop it or something?”)

Shortly after fixing up the components inside, WWX tests the camera (on LWJ? LXC? Little Sizhui? idek) and it works again. He happily mentions something about improving it. The night after, they sleep again with the camera in the room.

and then both of them get transported into the alterworld :“> at least this one is more comedic and lighthearted. They wake up together again and decide to stash the camera in the treasure room.

AU NOTES:

Most FF games involve physical locations, but FF3 features a less physical location; the Manor of Sleep is…somewhere, but it can only be accessed by whoever bears the Tattooed Curse, and while they’re sleeping.

Yes, FF bosses can summon mooks; at least in FF5, the final boss does it in both of her forms.

Item sidequests are a thing. In FF3, if you don’t complete a certain sidequest, one character will not survive.

FF plots always revolve in a dark ish ritual failing and consuming the location completely, with the final boss being the shrine maiden involved in the failed ritual. It’s not hard to see WWX being an FF final boss.

FF5 has a character whose endings are determined based on whether she photographs her mother in a certain location or not. If she doesn’t, she will have a final moment with her mother before said mother fades away, as the mother has a limited lifespan. If she does, she will have a proper moment with her mother in an outside location, and wakes up in the designated home base location beside her mother. Simply put, the best ending of LWJ being reunited with WWX in less than 13 years is based on that ending.

In some parts of FF2, you play as a younger twin sister, with the older twin sister by her side. You need to make sure that the older twin’s HP doesn’t reach 0 and to not leave her behind. The shenanigans that happen to LWJ and WWX after WWX fixes the camera is based on this gameplay aspect.

So, like...thanks for the art. That crown is super dope, and sect leader!WN as a whole looks super dope.

I also want to thank you for this AU. I need to see more.

100/10

- Mommy, Who Is This Young Master?- See The Sun On His Clothes? This Is A Young Leader Of Qishan Wen

- Mommy, who is this young master? - See the sun on his clothes? This is a young Leader of Qishan Wen Sect, sir Wen Qionglin. - Wen? The Wen sect? - Yeah, dear, but don’t be afraid. The Sun for left the warpath long time ago. - He looks so sad, mommy… - Yes, honey. That’s because he lost… someone very important to him. - Who? - Mm, do you remember the story about Yiling Patriarch? - The one who was betrayed by his own men and crucified on the gate? - Yes, honey, but don’t shout it so loud. - So? - What “So”, honey? - I remember the Yiling Patriarch. So? - Sir Wei Wuxian was the precious spouse of sir Wen Qionglin. And the mother of his child. - Ooh… - Yes, honey. Now let’s go, we don’t need to bother sir Wen for nothing…

A part of my Ningxian AU. Actually i just wanted to draw Wen Ning as a sect leader, so text is a kind of bonus xD

A Yiling Matriarch!JYL/ChengXian ABO AU

Specifically, I wanted to talk about a reimagining of the scene where the four major sects convene at Nightless City to discuss how to deal with the Yiling Patriarch, who is alpha!JYL in this case.

@lazilylurking and I were tossing around ideas, and basically:

Alpha!JC is still the YMJ’s sect leader in this AU, and as such, he attends the conference, but he doesn’t go with the intention to lend aid. Instead, he wishes to dissuade the others from attacking his sister.

Unfortunately, JYL misunderstood her brother and thought he would lay siege on her and the Wen remnants alongside the others.

She called JC a traitor in front of the other sects, cursed him with so much venom, JC could hardly recognize her.

“A-Jie!”

“You have the audacity to address me so affectionately after you plot to destroy me?”

Nothing he said got through to her until an impulsive youth at the conference attacked her, resulting in their death and leading into what becomes known as the Bloodbath of Nightless City.

The sibling of the impulsive youth sought to avenge them and lunged at JYL with their blade, but JYL is shielded by her brother, who takes a fatal blow to the heart.

“A-...A-Cheng?”

A wet cough. “Are you all right, A-Jie?”

She let out a blood-curdling wail as her brother bled out in her arms, hardly registering his gentle hand on her cheek and his last words: “Don’t forget: I love you, A-Jie.”

That day, she lost her brother, and omega!WWX lost his husband and father of his twin daughters.

When news reached Lotus Pier that Sect Leader Jiang was dead, supposedly murdered by his own sister, WWX was inconsolable, the weight of it all so heavy that he seemed to dissociate from the world. He only awoke from his episodes to tend to his infant daughters.

The YMJ still needed a leader, however, and with Lianqi (莲祺) and Lianzhen (莲祯) too young, he had to take up the mantle of sect leader, but he insisted on being referred to as Madame Jiang. The title of sect leader was reserved for JC and Lianqi.

Some afterthoughts:

In this universe, omega!WCZ survived the night hunt that canonically killed him and alpha!CSSR. Heavily but not mortally injured, he made it back to the inn WWX was left at and took him to Yunmeng, where he resumed his position as JFM’s personal attendant, and WWX was allowed to become a Jiang disciple. (There was no way he could raise WWX single-handedly without a more stable situation.) As a result of this change, WWX grew up with more discipline since WCZ was the docile one in his marriage with a strict sense of duty.

After JC dies, Zidian gets back to WWX, but he doesn’t have the heart to wear the ring; so, it hangs around his neck on a silk cord.

On that note, however, what if JC gave Zidian to JYL before he died? She can’t use it, but he doesn’t know that, and he hopes his gift will help keep her alive.

Gossip has misconstrued her possession of Zidian as her having stolen it as her brother died.

After the Siege of the Burial Mounds, the artifact still gets back to WWX, who somehow knows JYL didn’t steal it and begrudgingly understands why JC would leave it to her versus him.

Regardless, WWX clutches the ring whenever he feels he needs his late husband’s strength to get him through a tough time, sometimes talking to it as if it can act as a conduit to JC’s spirit.

Down the road, I see him giving up Zidian to Lianzhen and Sandu to Lianqi, hoping that his husband’s greatest weapons will watch over them.

Wen Ruohan? More Like Wen Ruoham, Am I Right?

Wen Ruohan? More like Wen Ruoham, am I right? 😏

... ... ...

There’s context for this, I swear.

It all started with an AU that said, “What if WWX owned a restaurant, but all his menu items were puns on people’s names?”

Thus, the Ruoham joke was born, and I am absolutely proud of myself for drawing this.

If anyone’s curious, he’s based on the Meishan pig, which is like the Sharpei of the pig world because of its wrinkly appearance. Their piglets are absolutely aodrable, and I’m in love with their floppy ears. They’re a rare breed, apparently.

FengRuo ABO AU

For @jae-duhb , I blame this whole idea on you.

For anyone reading this who is not familiar with her OC, Jin GuangYan (JGYan) is an alpha, the younger twin brother of Jin GuangShan, and so was not able to become Sect Leader for LanLing Jin.

This is a mix of stream of consciousness and excessively detailed plot outline, but it’s relatively linear and easy to follow.

This is almost 4k of something I never plan to write

Warnings: Include mentions of abuse, violence, miscarriages

I am so here for this, I eagerly await what else’ll come out of this AU.

au on jzx/wwx, bc this rare pair needs more love and wwx is too damn shippable

r u rlly willing to trust me w ur heart on this tho,,,,,anyways !! i love wangxian n xuanli w my entire heart but i will admit,,,,this ship is a v guilty pleasure,,,,hopefully i can give them a happy en— ⁽ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᶦᵗ ᵃⁿᵍˢᵗ…ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᶦᵗ ᵃⁿᵍˢᵗ⁾ w w what ?? did anyone hear anything? weird,,,, anyways i hope to give them a happ— ⁽ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᶦᵗ ᵃⁿᵍˢᵗ…ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᶦᵗ ᵃⁿᵍˢᵗ⁾ who is s s s s s saying that this is not a game,,,,but as i was say— (̶͉͎̔͌͆̆Á̸̳̹̹͈Ǹ̸̡̩̯͖͐͋G̷͔͉̮͇͗̎̾͠S̶͖̗̙͈͋͂̆̾͜T̵̻̩̮͍̈͐̃͝)̴̨̰͒̏ͅ

i have written about them before here and here if ur interested !!

• honestly this can evolve into a really interesting dynamic just because of all the complications that come with these two. jzx is the sect heir of one of the 5 great sects, not only that, he his betrothed to wwx’s sister. after the fall of the wen sect, the jin sect arguably becomes the the number one enemy of the yiling patriarch. it feels like a story that was destined to end in tragedy

• still, humans are stubborn creatures and even if everything was already laid in the stars, they’d still try to find a way to rewrite them

• are they able to succeed in changing their destiny? we will have to find out!

• lwj will still be in seclusion while wwx is studying at the cloud recesses— then he’ll be suspiciously absent for the rest of the story,,,poor boy has a tummy ache from drinking so much vinegar iM SORRY LWJ U KNO I LOVE WANGXIAN THE MOST—

• anyways, i like to think of jzx and wwx as people who despite not liking each other much and arguing all the time, they can still respect and appreciate each other for their talents and ability to stand of for what they believe in

• aka they hate each other’s guts, but like them too

• jzx strikes me as a person that despite his shitty attitude sometimes, he really is a person with a noble heart. he was even agreeing with wwx about how troublesome the wens are (unlike his father,,,) and defied the wens by protecting mianmian— he even bettered himself for jyl. it leads me to believe that jzx is not someone who would leave others behind even if he didn’t like them all that much (and wwx would probably feel the same way)

• jzx had a tendency to follow around wwx, jc, and nhs while they were at the cloud recesses. maybe he was bored, maybe he had nothing better to do, maybe he just genuinely want to hang out with them a little (despite the fact he and the jiang brothers don’t always get along, wwx in particular might complain, but he’s never actually pushed him away)

• wwx was annoying, he really was. he was also incredibly obnoxious. he swore wwx would start up a fight with him just for breathing in the same area as him— but still, wwx was also the only person who had the guts to denounce the wens. because wwx was like that— always spouting some sort of bullshit, but also being the one to say the things other people are too afraid to say. as he sat at his both, watching the two jiang brothers argue about loquats, he couldn’t help but think that in some ways, wwx was admirable

• (just to be clear, he’s still obnoxious! but he’s not a bad person…)

• there is a change in their dynamic a few days after the whole waterborne abyss situation

• jzx was looking for his dog to take down from the mountain one night— it was late, but somehow 小美 (xiǎo mĕi aka little beauty) had gotten out of his resting quarters. he was already planning to send his dog back to lanling, but somehow, the little rascal ran away—

• and then he heard screaming. crying. lots of crying— who was screaming like that?

• feeling a little worried, he tries to find the source of the screaming, much to his surprise, he finds little beauty— he also finds wwx. he finds wwx with tears streaming down his face, cowering in front of his barking dog while a broken jar of emperor’s smile laid next to him

• oh….oh—

• for a moment, jzx stood frozen, unsure of what to do— he feels like he’s walked in on something he shouldn’t have

• “please make it go away—“ a small voice calls out to him desperately and without any hesitation, he shoos his own dog off

• and then he’s back looking at wwx

• “she’s gone now—“ he huffs out but wwx is still shaking, looking down as he’s wiping his tears. something in jzx’s expression softens

• oh, wwx is scared— he’s really scared. a part of him wants to go and forget this happened, but another part of him knew that he couldn’t leave a vulnerable person behind

• but what the hell was he supposed to do?! he’s never comforted anyone in his entire life! he’s never seen wwx like this, he doesn’t know how to comfort him

• “it’s fine, you can go and laugh about it or whatever…” wwx voice comes out annoyed and upset

• (no, in good conscious, he couldn’t just go)

• so he crouches down to meet wwx’s eyes

• “it’s okay.” for a moment wwx is surprised. jzx frowns, it takes everything in him to keep going and not make this anymore awkward

• “it’s okay, i won’t tell anyone” you don’t have to feel ashamed, is what he wanted to say but the words just weren’t coming out

• he finds out that wwx gets in trouble for staying out late, and with long and tired sigh, he admits that he was out late too

• (they both have to copy the sect rules in the library pavilion)

• copying the rules w wwx actually isn’t that bad— all things considered. they weren’t arguing, but they weren’t talking either, honestly it was kind of awkward. (was it because of last night?) and ofc, wwx is first to break the silence

• “some of these rules are so ridiculous— this is why the lan sect is so stuffy! don’t walk to fast? don’t eat more than three bowls?— no wonder old man lan always looks like he has a stick up his ass! you can’t even be too happy or too sad!”

• jzx has to hold back a snort, bc it’s true, but he doesn’t want to get in trouble for laughing at the lan sect rules or something, so he opts to shrug his shoulders

• “i don’t know how they expect guest disciples to memorize and follow all 3000 of these rules.” “exactly! it’s not like we’re part of the lan sect!”

• jzx takes a break from copying the rules only to see that wwx seems to have given up a long while before as his paper is littered with doodles— (was that,,,a peacock?)

• “say, don’t you think old man lan would look better without that goatee, someone should do something about that!” “don’t involve me in this.”

• the mischievous look on wwx face says that lan qiren just might find himself waking up without his facial hair— and that’s not something he wanted to be a part of. it was sudden, but wwx was looking at him with a much softer expression, like he wanted to say something—

• “thanks” “huh?” “for last night, thanks…”

• jzx is quiet for a moment and he’s unsure why he suddenly feels so flustered. so he mutters a quiet “no problem” before looking away and going back to copying the rules

• they don’t talk about it anymore, but there is a new, more comfortable atmosphere surrounding the room, he’s not sure why, but it makes him feel…good…

• and maybe it was a start of a new friendship (“jin xiong, look i drew a picture of you!” “that’s…a peacock….” “the resemblance is uncanny, right?”)

• but he always ends up saying the wrong words

• (“how can i be satisfied with her?” “…son of a servant…” “doesn’t he treat you better anyways?”)

• it was quick reflexes that saved his literal face in the end, but as for his metaphorical face— he’s never kneeled like this before and maybe for the first time in his life he was feeling ashamed— perhaps his words were a bit harsh, he couldn’t help it, he never liked talking about his arranged marriage. these days it’s been making him feel even more miserable…and maybe…maybe it was because someone else was slowly catching his interests

• he sighs, knowing what he needs to do (though he really doesn’t want to) he should apologize (this was going to be great)

• he eventually runs into wwx again, a wwx who met his gaze with a sharp glare, jzx was already feeling tired. it takes him a while, but the words finally come out

• “im sorry, i shouldn’t have said those words” “oh really? you’re sorry?” oh, he doesn’t like that tone. wwx was frowning and jzx was suddenly feeling annoyed again

• “yes, i am. i’m sincerely sorry. it was out of line.” “what problem do you even have with my shijie?!” “wei wuxian— i didn’t mean it like that!” “oh yeah, what did you mean?” “can’t you just listen for once?” he raises his voice, because he’s trying, he’s really trying.

• “why should i listen to you? because im the son of a servant?”

• oh, so that’s what it was—

• usually, hearing those words didn’t really bother wwx, he’s used to it after all, but for a moment…just for a moment, he thought he might’ve found something nicer inside that damn peacock— but no, he’s just the arrogant prick he’s always been

• jzx was starting to feel desperate. why was he feeling so desperate? did wwx’s opinion matter that much to him?

• “i didn’t mean it! what else do you want me to do? i’m sorry!”

• it in that moment of passion he might’ve accidentally tugged on wwx’s wrist too hard— and maybe they knocked their skulls into each other, the two of them both shouting out in sudden pain from the collision

• wwx is about to yell at jzx until he sees jzx’s mortified, flustered expression— and something in him decides to just let it go

• “jin xiong, you’re so rough! how can you be like this?” “….excuse me?….” “what a brute, is this how you would treat a lady too?” “…..eXUSCE ME ???” “you can let go of my hand now, i never knew jin xiong was so passionate…” “…ex..cu…se…m m m e ?????”

• wwx was laughing at him and all jzx wanted to do was run away and die he was so embarrassed

• god im gonna rewrite the entire novel at this rate n i don’t have the energy for this,,,i have all these ideas bUT IM TIRED

• but imagine just how messy things get as they move forward— when the lotus pier falls, jzx manages to bring jyl back to koi tower while jc is at gusu and wwx is missing

• the worst thing about jyl is that she’s genuinely a kind and nice person, he can see himself warming up to her, but— his heart was with someone else, and he thinks it really unfair

• he promises her that her brother is talented and capable, that he would be okay. she only smiles at him. “im glad a-xian has you by his side”

• it was unfair, so unfair

• i just want wwx to throw white peonies at jzx,,,,

• I WILL COME BACK TO THIS AT SOME POINT AND DELIVER THE TRUE ANSGT

• AKA XUANLI GET MARRIED AND WWX CANT GO, BUT FOR SOME REASON, EVEN IF HE COULD, HE WOULDNT BE ABLE TO BRING HIMSELF TO WATCH

• TENSIONS ARISE WITH THE JINS AND JZX IS CONFLICTED BTWN HIS FAMILIAL DUTIES AND HIS FEELINGS FOR THE ONE HE LOVES

• n wwx dies bc that’s a thing that happens but xuanli live ok thank u

Husband Dearest

A ChengXian ABO AU where WangXian was once a happy married couple until a freak accident gave LWJ amnesia, and unfortunate circumstances forced the couple to divorce.

.

.

LWJ just couldn’t reconnect with WWX no matter how much either of them tried.

Now divorced, WWX meets a young businessman in a coffee shop by the name of JC.

JC has seen his fair share of tragedy in recent years. His parents died in a car accident two years ago, and only a few weeks ago, his sister and brother-in-law died in a condo fire, leaving him to care for their barely-a-month-old son.

They grouse about the shitty days they’re having and lament their seemingly bleak lives together, which sparks a friendship that blooms into a loving marriage.

Within thirteen years, they have three beautiful children, a diligent nephew, and all the happiness in the world.

On the flip side, thirteen years later, LWJ seems to regain some of his lost memories and seeks out WWX.

Lan Xichen! In This Life, Ive Lied Countless Times, Killed Countless Times. Like You Said, I Killed My

“Lan Xichen! In this life, I’ve lied countless times, killed countless times. Like you said, I killed my father, my brother, my wife, my son, my teacher, my friend—of all the evil in the world, what haven’t I done?!...But I’ve never even thought of harming you!”

I just want to put this out there: this quote bugs me because while Guangyao did genuinely care for Xichen, the fact remains that he used Lan techniques that Xichen trusted him enough to allow him access to, to kill Mingjue, who was Xichen's best friend. He also let Wei Ying become a scapegoat to the Cultivation world when Jin Zixun was cursed, even though he deserved it, which led to our Patriarch being driven mad, and soon to his death, which led to Lan Zhan falling into a depression after being whipped for protecting the love of his life from his own Sect. He was willing to kill Xichen's nephew and son (Jingyi is Xichen's son, and no one will take that from me) if it could save himself.

So yeah, Jin Guangyao DID hurt Lan Xichen. He was just too blind to realize how.

So, I dunno how many people actually caught on to this, if it was meant to be easily overlooked, or if I just missed it somewhere.

But! Yuan's courtesy name.

Sizhui: to recollect, and long for.

Lan Zhan gave him a symbolic name after adopting him.

So, I Dunno How Many People Actually Caught On To This, If It Was Meant To Be Easily Overlooked, Or If

He would always remember the only person he ever loved romantically,

So, I Dunno How Many People Actually Caught On To This, If It Was Meant To Be Easily Overlooked, Or If

And long for what they could have had together had the Siege not happened.

So, I Dunno How Many People Actually Caught On To This, If It Was Meant To Be Easily Overlooked, Or If

Yes, they still got it in the end, but there's a wide time frame Wei Ying missed out on while Yuan grew up.

And it both hurts, and warms my heart that Lan Zhan chose a courtesy name out of love for Wei Ying, and Yuan.

So, I keep seeing MDZS comparison posts...

There are people who fell down the MDZS rabbit hole via the novel, and followed the developing media that paralleled the novel, and others who only know the CQL drama. While the content on both sides does differ, based on media control, these facts remain the same:

Jin Guangshan is the most vile character:

Constantly cheated on his wife

Raped his best friend's wife, resulting in Qin Su

Made false promises to his conquests, especially women who were desperate for a better life where they weren't looked down upon for doing what they needed to, to survive/Meng Shi (possibly Mo Xuanyu's mother as well)

Strung his son along

Sneered at the Wens, but was against the Sunshot Campaign like a coward

Punished the innocent if it made him look good

Started all the BS by pushing MY/JGY down the steps of Koi Tower when he was a child

Lan Xichen is the most tragic character:

Felt helpless as Wangji was brutally punished, and live with depression after Wuxian's death

Couldn't say goodbye to his father

Learned his best friend was killed by someone he loved with his own family's arts

Mortally wounded JGY for a reason that may or may not have been true

Was willing to die with JGY, only to be spared and watch him die at the hand of his deceased best friend

Meng Yao/Jin Guangyao is the cruelest character:

Killed the man who gave him a new life after his mother died

Betrayed the boy who saw him as a brother from day one

Killed his own family

Made Wei Wuxian a scapegoat

Was willing to kill a bunch of kids and frame Wei Wuxian AGAIN

Almost killed a majority of the cultivation world in the same plan

Threatened the life of the nephew he raised after killing his brother

Threw Mo Xuanyu away instead of helping him

Betrayed Lan Xichen, yet still claimed he never hurt him

Nie Huaisang is a scary genius:

Spent ten years planning Jin Guangyao's demise, complete with back-ups and fallbacks.

Is actually a very capable cultivator despite not following the "normal" methods (at least he doesn't follow demonic cultivation) because how else could he have successfully sealed the coffin?

Lan Wangji is the most loyal character:

Continued to support Wei Wuxian despite everything going downhill.

Proudly took any and all punishments dealt out by his sect's rules

Visits Xichen during his Seclusion, just as Xichen visited him during this three-year Seclusion

These are my personal analysis of these characters, I have no expectations of others to agree.

OKY .DOKY HOY X MI MAÑANA X N TI KEEP POSTING FROM THE CANARY ISLAMDS

I think a lot of Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng's issues would have been solved if Jiang Fengmian had decided to adopt WWX as just another random disciple instead of trying to shoehorn him into the main family.
