a/n: i've been so obsessed with royal!au lately so enjoy this! you're a herbalist in this who lives at the palace. (yes this is inspired from snow white with the red hair ehe)

DILUC: the eldest son of the king. he's a dreamboat no doubt; princesses from all over the kingdoms line up to be courted by him but alas, he rejects them all. his father warns him that he must marry soon to strengthen political alliances but little does the king know diluc's heart belongs to you, the royal court herbalist who has somehow managed to capture the young prince's heart.

KAEYA: the second brother to the throne. while he may be adopted and not true royal blood, the kingdom respects him the same. whether it be for his charming nature or the townsfolk fear of the royals, he rules alongside his brother with no protest. he often fakes injuries just to come see you at the clinic, claiming that he truly was hurt and might even have to stay overnight so you can monitor his health.

ALBEDO: the chief herbalist of the royal court. he's the one who appointed you to join the court in the first place. he truly saw lots of the natural potential you carried and admired your love for plants and medicine. he often asks you to accompany him to the greenhouse for assistance when really he just wants to spend more time with you.

THOMA: one of the princes personal advisor. he's always accompanying the princes and king with whatever it may be they need. although he may or may not sneak into your private quarters on evenings just to spend some time with you. he even brings you unique flowers he finds just to impress you.

KAZUHA: apart of the royal guard. he has been appointed to keeping the royal sons safe from any possible danger that may lurk in the dark. he often finds himself slacking off to watch a pretty herbalist walk through the gardens. he's always found you stunning, but isn't sure how to approach you just yet. so for now he'll just leave you small notes of anonymous poetry at your desk for you to ponder over.

CHILDE: the undercover spy from the neighboring kingdom. he was sent on a mission to gather as much intel as he could about the military and political affairs. he didn't meet you until he one day he was training too hard and ended up spraining his ankle. he was forced to spend time with you since you were attending to his injuries for the next several days. but he slowly found himself hopelessly falling for you. maybe he could take you away from this horrid place.

synopsis: in which you try to hide your sickness from them, just trying to stay out of their way, except it doesn’t quite go to plan

characters: heizou, thoma, tighnari, dottore, and childe x gn!reader (separately)

warnings: angst to fluff, hurt/comfort, descriptions of being sick, a tiny bit of swearing, established relationships

notes: thanks for the request! i tried pretty hard to come up with something for diluc but i wasn’t able to so i just did tighnari. i also added in some other characters, hope that’s okay :) also reminder that this is a relatively old request and i’m not actively taking requests!

heizou:

you hadn’t intended to ever hide your sickness from him, honestly

you woke up with the incoming feeling of what you assumed was a fever. your temperature was high and you felt fatigued

still, when your red haired boyfriend came prancing into your shared bedroom excitedly shaking your shoulders begging you to join him on his day off, you felt as though you couldn’t refuse

he was just so happy and you didn’t want to ruin that, not when he had been so stressed recently

walking around ritou with him seemed to be alright

the weather wasn’t bad and he even took you to a few shops for some lunch and souvenirs

but as the time passed, your head felt dizzier and your eyes stung a bit. the red of the maple trees was blending with the blue of the sky and the shops around began to spin

“are you okay?” he had asked worriedly, noticing your eyes began to droop and the overall fatigue you seemed to be experiencing

he put a hand to your forehead and noticed the burning sensation and light sweat building quickly

“shit, you’re sick? why didn’t you say anything?” he asked as he began to rush you home. his arms were around you, steadying you against him

“you were so excited,” you mumble against his shoulder, “i didn’t wanna ruin that, but it looks like i did anyway.”

the detective’s heart ached as the words left your mouth, he couldn’t believe you would say something like that, “please don’t say that again. your health matters way more than my fun, don’t ever forget that.”

when you got home, you fell asleep quickly, all snuggled up in the warm covers

heizou dimmed the lights and brought some medicine and water to place on the table next to you for when you woke up

as he got in the bed with you, he made sure to pull the blankets snuggly over you and bring you closer to his chest and placing a small kiss to your forehead

“i love you,” he whispered before shutting his eyes and holding you close.

thoma:

thoma hadn’t asked you to help him with chores, but here you were…helping him with chores

although the weather was beautiful, it was spring and in influx of new leaves and all sorts of pollen was in the air and on the floors of the estate

you were kind enough to help your boyfriend out with all of the spring cleaning to prevent him from getting stressed

unfortunately, it only lead to you getting stressed and consequently sick

you had already felt the oncomings of sickness for the past week

from various headaches, lack of sleep, the inability to eat, all the way to a runny nose and sore throat — you knew it was only going to worsen, but still clung to the hope it was just spring allergies

still, you chose to help him anyway while also leaving out the details of your sickness

about two hours had passed since your last break before fatigue hit you hard. the rake you had been using to gather fallen flowers was now leaned against the wall

your arm was resting against the railing to balance yourself as you sat on the small set of stairs under the shade

“thoma,” you called out to him through shut eyes and rushed breaths, “i’m so sorry, i- i don’t think i can help you anymore.”

he ran to you almost instantly, dropping everything in his hands to check if you were okay

when he saw you weren’t, he rushed you inside to your guys’ shared room

“oh archons, i’m so sorry i didn’t notice! you really didn’t have to help me if you weren’t feeling good,” he apologized, urgently trying to help you

it was like that for hours after

he was constantly apologizing for not noticing and you could tell he truly felt bad

he even brought you fresh homemade soup and anything else you so desired. you name it, he got it

at the end of the day, he fell asleep alongside you, swearing to stay by you until you felt better.

he didn’t even care if he got sick. if it was for you, it was worth it

tighnari:

tighnari had been frustrated all week

you had noticed that almost instantaneously and even if you hadn’t, all of his grumbling, dark eye bags (which he never seemed to have), and the distance he was placing between you would have made it blatantly obvious

he didn’t seem himself as of late and that made you feel a bit down yourself

eventually it got to the point where his mood was dampening everyone else’s and you had fallen ill

the forest watcher was so stressed that he hadn’t even noticed

you had tried to tell him when he requested you help him with collecting samples of withered areas, but he was quick to shut you down before hearing you out, requesting that you, “please just help me without complaining.”

under normal circumstances, you would have told him off and not allowed him to dictate over you like that, but you weren’t feeling well at all and didn’t have the energy to argue

besides, it would only be an hour and a half right? you figured you could get through that

you should’ve known what you were getting into. your boyfriend always took longer than expected, though you hadn’t expected an hour and a half to turn into two, which then turned into three

when you realized the time, you began to ask to go home and just come back tomorrow. it was getting dark and was definitely a reasonable request of him

but tighnari wasn’t in the mood and he brushed you off, choosing not to answer your question

moments later, his equipment fell and broke — almost as if karma had struck him

he was never one to lose his cool so easily, but here he was yelling at nothing and kicking his bag over

when you had asked him to calm down, he refused and snapped at you too.

he didn’t mean it — you knew that, but you couldn’t help but feel like he did. like he meant to snap at you and that all his anger was somehow your fault

mixed with the fatigue and shivers from your now fully developed fever, your eyes drooped and you fell forward into unconsciousness

hours had passed before you awoke. but when you did, you found tighnari right by your side handing you a cup of water and some of his homemade medicine

“i’m so sorry,” he started quickly, stumbling over his words as he tried to apologize, “i was so selfish forcing you to go with me. i mean, what kind of boyfriend doesn’t even notice when their partner is sick?”

you cough before responding, “you were a little harsh, but it’s okay now. you were just stressed and no one was around to help you out when you needed it, so don’t feel too bad okay?”

he nodded sadly and fell against your lap, still guilt-stricken by his lack of awareness and clouded mind from just a mere few hours ago

he would take the next week off he decided. taking care of you was more important and he had a lot of making up to do

dottore:

you weren’t surprised the doctor had failed to recognize the fact that you were sick

while he was a doctor, he wasn’t one that cared for his patients or anyone besides himself

when he had called you to his lab early one morning to aid him in some lab work, you knew there was no chance of it ending well

you loved him, you really did, but your boyfriend was pushy. and when his mind was set on something, it became the most important thing to him

today he had asked for your assistance in his lab for whatever new experiment he had conjured up this time

initially, you refused as you weren’t feeling well and didn’t have the energy

but, as aforementioned, dottore is a stubborn man and wouldn’t take no for an answer

“dottore, i’m not feeling we—“ you tried to argue with him

“ah ah, i do not care what excuse you have this time. i need your help and only your help.”

he didn’t even hear you out

so you sucked it up and helped him

about an hour had passed when you began feeling strained

back and forth of reaching for different materials and finding information for him became too much

“can we just take a break?” you breathed out heavily, immune system weak from your sickness

“no, what did i tell you? it is imperative that we do not stop until this is finished,” he stops for a moment, tone softening as he turns to you, “i’ll take you out to that place you’ve been wanting to try later, i promise. just, help me with this and we can go.”

you smile at the offer, happy he was finally making the time to go out with you, but it wasn’t enough

as soon as he asked for the next object, your dizziness kicked in as your neck craned to see it up on the high shelves of his lab

and the next thing dottore heard was a thud with you on the ground

“dottore… i can’t— i’m so sorry,” tears pool at your eyes as your fever worsens

he helps you up with a stern look, his arms wrapped around yours as he pulls you closer to inspect your face, “why didn’t you tell me you were sick?”

“are you serious? i did tell you! you didn’t listen to me,” you exclaim

dottore softens in the way he only does around you, quietly offering you an apology and his coat to warm up your shivering body “i apologize, my love. i should not have been so neglectful of my own partner.”

he’s careful as he carries you to your shared bed and wraps you up:

“how about that restaurant? i’ll pick up whatever you want.”

childe:

sometimes childe can be a literal child. you knew that when the two of you began dating. sometimes you minded, other times you didn’t

he had a way of nagging when he wanted things and whining when he didn’t get them

you hadn’t gotten out of bed all morning and childe was getting impatient, hoping you would spar with him today for fun

you didn’t bother to tell him you were sick, thinking that he’d eventually realize later in the day

but childe was having one of those days and didn’t have a care in the world for anyone but himself

he came in to your shared room and collapsed on you, completely missing the pained grunt you let out as complaints flew left and right out of his mouth

things like: “spar with me, please!” and “c’mon we haven’t challenged each other in so long!” among many other complaints

he was right, it had been along time. and while you didn’t exactly want to spar with him today, you figured if you just indulged him for one round he would let it go

so you got up and got your equipment desperately trying to ignore the pounding of your headache

childe was beaming with excitement as he kissed your cheek and ran out to grab his equipment

when you got outside to join him, the chilly wind of snezhnaya bit at your skin and made your nose run faster than it had been before

childe quickly went in for a few hits, you dodged them and countered him quickly

it seemed to increase his determination as he charged at you effectively hitting you in the side

you didn’t let it affect you too much, aside from a bit of coughing which your boyfriend had chalked up to being from the impact of the hit

you had only lasted ten minutes longer before he landed one last hit, knocking you to the ground

“oh, c’mon! that one wasn’t even that bad. don’t tell me you can’t handle a hit that weak!” he laughed, just teasing you

you bent over on your hands and knees, violently coughing as tears poured out from your eyes

“hey hey hey, what’s wrong?” childe panicked as he dropped to his knees next to you with one hand placed on your back to support you

his hand reached your forehead, feeling a burning sensation, “woah, you’re burning up! why didn’t you tell me you were sick?”

“you were—“ you were cut off by your coughs, “so excited to spar. i figured if i just indulged you for a round or two i’d be fine…”

“hey, you didn’t have to do that,” he said softly, “i would’ve understood if you just told me. i care more about you than fighting, you know that.”

childe picked you up quickly and brought you back inside your shared home and to your bed, wrapping you up cozily under the covers before joining you

“childe, no— you’ll get sick,” you tried to push him away.

he smiled and firmly placed a kiss on your lips,“oh c’mon, when have i ever cared about that?”

Accepting the loss of your animal companion

A/N: hey everyone! I originally wanted to make this as animal friendly ad possible (meaning u could put in animal you want while u read) but there are so many different types of pets ranging for furry creatures or those who shed skin so it was so hard my bad :((

The Tighnari part of this headcanon is for all but written specifically for @hitomisuzuya , Suzu I hope you know that youre not alone and you should never ever put the blame of loosing Frank on yourself. Was never your fault and never will be. ALSO IDK HOW TO DESCRIBE A HORSE SO PLS EVERYONE EXCUSE ME 😭

Tighnari and you decided to visit mondstadt one day

Mainly because windblume was coming up and Collei wanted to see Amber again

The 3 of you had such a blast! It has been a while since the 2 of you have visited other nations so this was a well deserved break

Drank together, ate different dishes the city of freedom had to offer together, and made new friends

One day you met the calvary captain of the knights of favonuis while Tighnari was talking to Albedo

The conversation between the 2 of you shifted from work to animals to his title as the calvary captain

"Most of our horses have been taken in by Grandmaster Varka for his expedition however we still have around a few left here in the city just in case we need them" the captain started, "would you like to see them?"

You hesitated, a part of you didnt want to at all. You were afraid you'd break down and start remembering the past

But a part of you also wanted to, you longed to see another horse again

You longed to appreciate the way they strut, the way their mane flows when they jump, the way they look at you when you were getting ready for another competition together

Although their expression was overall the same, when you have a bond with a horse especially a strong one, their emotions as well as yours felt like they were connected

But youve avoided them like the plague

Regretfully, you said yes anyways

Your heart has won against your mind this time around

After a while the sun was about to go down and everyone was getting ready to call it a day

Tighnari and you left Collei with Amber so you both made your way to the inn youre staying at

The walk home was silent and you were staring down at your feet, and you seemed to be in a daze,

You gaze was empty, and there wasnt any hint of sparkle in your eyes

Tighnari noticed something was off so he asked

"Hey are you alright?"

"What? Oh. Uh yeah Im fine" you nodded half heartedly after his sudden question taking you off your train of thoughts

The fox stopped on his track and held your hand

"No something is off, you never look up when youre upset. Tell me whats wrong sunflower, Im here for you"

Your back was still facing him, but he could see your shoulders starting to shake, and you trying to muffle up sobs

You hated crying about this especially in public

You didnt want to remember

Never again

His ears perked up and swiftly he pulled you in for a hug

Before he got the chance to say something, you started

"Horses... I miss my horse Nari. I fucking miss him so much" you started, choking up sobs

"I miss him everyday and when I saw the horses before with Kaeya one of them looked like him and..."

You hid your face in his chest as your sobs started getting louder by the minute

"One of them looked exactly like him. I can't I regret that I wasnt able to save him Nari, Im such a bad companion. I could have done more, I could have SAVED him but I-"

"Hey! (Name)! Thats not true" he cutted you off before you finished your sentence, you were having an episode and it broke him to see you like this

Gently, he took your chin and made you face him

"He would never blame you for what happened. It was out of your control, he is your companion. He would have never placed the blame on you sunflower. It all happened too fast, please believe me when I say this, its not your fault"

You couldnt help but let more tears fall out

Yes you were still upset you lost your dearest companion

But you were also happy to hear those words come out of his mouth

You both stood in the middle of the road hugging for a while, waiting until you calmed down.

You knew it wasnt your fault that your beloved horse was gone, but Tighnari was right

He was always right

Your companion would never have blamed you for what happened to him

You wanted to be around horses again

But realise that the first step to finally be around them comfortably was to be able to accept and heal

And Tighnari will be with you every step of the way

KAZUHA ▪︎ Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves

You were with Kazuha relaxing together outside enjoying the fresh air

The sun was out bright in Liyue so you both decided to take a stroll before setting out to the sea again on the crux

At some point during your stroll a cat came to you and meowed

You stopped on your feet and looked down to see the cat starting to rub on you affectionatley

You of course bent down to give em some pets

Kazuha realised you werent on his side anymore and looked behind to see you gazing sotfly at the cat while playing with it

He cant help but think you looked cute

He walked towards you and bent down to the same level as you and watched you play with the cat

You broke the silence after a while

"I use to have a cat" still not breaking your gaze away from the cat

Kazuha looked up at you "oh really?"

"Mmhm, (gender) was beautiful, had lushious (colour) fur, ears so cute you could bite em off and eyes that when you stare at them for long enough, you could find yourself falling in love with (gender) again" subconsciously smiling when you said that

You missed your cat truly

They were your best friend

The ronin hesitated for a bit, not sure if he should ask the question that came up on his head

Without him asking you knew what was on his mind

"(Name) passed away not long ago. I was very sad. In fact, I would be lying if I said Ive healed completely" you chuckled, finally looking up at Kazuha smiling a bit

You didnt want to think about negative thoughts when talking about your beloved cat

Because you'd just have a breakdown

Besides, you knew (name) was at peace anyways now

Kazuha stared at you for a while before smiling "Im sure (name) is resting well now, and if (name) was still here Im sure (gender)'d would love all the different places youre seeing right now on your journey"

You laughed "oh almost, I dont think (gender)'d like Sumeru's desert, (name) would make it visibly clear how much (gender)'d hate it"

You both played with the stray cat for another 5 minutes while talking about your cat until the stray finally left

Kazuha would like to raise a kitten with you

So you both could make new memories together

And for him to see the bond grow between you and their future kitten

Thoma ▪︎ Protector from afar

Everytime you both went out together there was one time you'd miss playing with the stray dogs and cats out

Especially stray dogs

You have special attention to them

Whenever Thoma was knitting something for the stray cats you'd request he made one for the dogs as well

Whenever he was going out to feed the dogs and cats you'd always remind him to feed the dogs as well

You loved being around them and they seem to as well

He was in awe with how much bond and trust was between you and the dogs

Its almost as if you have one yourself

He had brought up wanting to raise a puppy with ypu, or adopt one of the stray dogs

But everytime he asked youd politely decline saying you werent interested

He was confused and shocked obviously

I mean you clearly loved the stray dogs so why didnt you want to adopt one?

He had to find out

You were getting ready for bed one night looking at the mirror while brushing your hair when he asked you laying on a futon (youre visiting him)

"Hey love, Ive been meaning to ask you something"

He only continued when you hummed, curious to what he wanted to ask

"Oh its just, I wanna know why you keep rejecting the offer of raising a puppy together or adopting one of the stray dogs. I mean you have such a tight bond with the dogs and you seem to favour them.. I must admit I was a little shocked when you rejected. Oh but Im not forcing you to say yes to my suggestion, if you dont wanna then thats fine its just-" he stopped talking when he saw you facing him

Your face was a little hesitant and your brows were furrowed a bit.

He could tell you were debating wheather or not you wanna tell him

"Oh but if you dont wanna tell me thats okay too love" kinda panicked a bit worried if he asked you a personal question 😭

You chuckled reassuring him it was alright

"No no Thoma its not that, its just.." you trailed off again trying to find the right words

"Im sorry for rejecting your suggestion for raising a puppy together, I think its a wonderful idea but im not ready."

He was about to say something before you continued "I had a dog once (gender) was a (breed of dog), and I named em (name)" you smiled at him, but one thing he noticed was that your smile didnt reach your eyes

"I lost (name) a few (weeks/months/years) ago. Ive been wanting to adopt another dog after (name)... but I just cant. I feel like Im replacing (gender)"

Thoma was mentally kicking and punching himself rn

How could he be so stupid

Of course this was obviously the reason why you rejected his suggestion

He wanted to apologise for asking but he knew you'd bash him and tell him not to apologise

Instead, he decided to get up from the futon and place a kiss on your forehead "could you... tell me more about (name)?"

You smiled and nodded

He always knew how to make you smile

Maybe one day when youre ready, you'll both raise a puppy together like a family

➸ thoma rarely gets jealous, he trusts you and knows you won't look anywhere else.

➸ you and thoma were going to meet up this afternoon to have a little lunch date together at komore teahouse.

➸ the two of you haven't been spending that much time together lately, so you were very excited to catch up with your little housekeeper.

➸ although, you were waiting at the teahouse for over an hour and he still hasn't shown up.

➸ you were starting to get worried so you went out to find him, until you bumped into none other than kazuha.

➸ "oh, y/n. what brings you here this brisk afternoon?"

➸ kazuha's calming voice made you relax a bit, so you take a deep breath and carefully explain what you're doing.

➸ "thoma is a little late for our lunch date, so i went looking for him."

➸ kazuha just smiles and says, "he was training with the kamisato siblings today, he's probably done by now."

➸ you take a sigh of relief, thankful that nothing has happened to him.

➸ "hey, as a thank you why don't i buy you some lunch? unless you've eaten already?"

➸ "oh thank you y/n, i am hungry. but don't feel the need to thank me for answering your question."

➸ you and kazuha walk into komore teahouse and take seats across from one another.

➸ after maybe 30 minutes, you hear two knocks on the door.

➸ you stand up to get it and see thoma standing outside with a big smile, as he hugs and twirls you around.

➸ "hey, y/n! i missed you!"

➸ you give him a small kiss on the cheek, in courtesy of the fact that kazuha was still there and pda made you shy.

➸ after thoma finishes returning your kiss, he finally notices kazuha sitting over at the table.

➸ "oh...why is kazuha here?" thoma asks, tilting his head a bit.

➸ "he kept me company while you were out training! we just shared some tricolor dango, nothing too filling."

➸ before you invite thoma over to sit down, kazuha notices thoma's...upset expression.

➸ "i will be taking my leave now, y/n. thank you for the meal, it will be going on my tab, i insist." kazuha says, getting up from the little pillow he was sitting on.

➸ you nod and wave goodbye to the little poet as he takes his leave from the restaurant.

➸ you remember that you gave back the menu before thoma arrived, so you stand up to get it, but then an unexpected back hug stops you.

➸ you look to your right and see thoma resting his head on your shoulder, pouting a little bit.

➸ "what's wrong?" you ask, stroking his hair.

➸ "it's nothing you did...i'm just a little upset that you and kazuha were here together."

➸ you smile and cup his face in your hands, giving him many little kisses.

➸ "stop it...i don't deserve those kisses. jealousy is an ugly emotion i shouldn't even be feeling it!" thoma says, turning his head away.

➸ you gently face his head back to you and give him a soft kiss on the lips. when you try to pull away, he pulls you back in, both of you smiling into the kiss.

➸ when you finally pull away, you're a little out of breath but seeing thoma's smile just warmed your heart.

➸ "thank you, y/n. i love you." thoma says, stroking your cheek.

➸ you both smile at each other and finally get the menu so you can have the lunch date you planned.

➸ in your entire relationship, you have never seen zhongli jealous. you never knew how he reacted when he felt that way.

➸ you never made a big deal out of it, because you found it so endearing that he trusted you that much.

➸ and even though he trusted you with his life, today was...different.

➸ you were doing some commissions with zhongli today, since he was free from the parlor.

➸ you were just about to head off to your second commission when you heard a faint, "good morning, comrades!"

➸ the two of you turn around and see...childe?

➸ you weren't used to seeing childe outside of third-round knockout, so you were a little surprised to see him.

➸ "hey, childe!" you say, giving him a hug.

➸ "mind if i join you two on your little adventure? or am i intruding on a romantic getaway?" childe teases, poking fun at the two of you.

➸ "not at all. you're welcome to join us!" you said, gesturing for him to come walk with you.

➸ you all walk and chat until you arrive at your next destination, where you're supposed to defeat some hilichurls.

➸ "this is gonna be fun." childe says, seeing the many mitachurls roaming around the camp.

➸ the three of you all get ready before jumping out the bushes and defeating those monsters faster than lightning.

➸ although, suddenly an abyss mage appeared behind you, too fast for you to notice.

➸ "y/n!" zhongli yelled, wanting to run to you but can't because he was still fending off some mitachurls.

➸ before the abyss mage strikes you, childe leaps to your aid, pushing you aside and one-shotting the pathetic little mage.

➸ as you both tumble down, childe somehow ends up on top of you and you thank him multiple times for his rescue.

➸ "no problem! it's what i do." he said, a little bit cockily but he deserved that much after saving you.

➸ you all walk to your last commission where you were supposed to cook a meal with smiley yanxiao, way easier than the others you've done today.

➸ although during your walk to the destination, zhongli was silent. you wanted to ask him what was wrong but he avoided eye contact with you.

➸ you just brushed it off and decided to wait until childe was gone to ask him, so you wouldn't have to stir up some drama in front of other people.

➸ you arrived at the destination, which was wangshu inn. you met up with yanxiao and his request was pretty straight-forward.

➸ "10 golden shrimp balls and 1 big pot of bamboo shoot soup, finish it by an hour." he said, immediately going back to chopping up some vegetables.

➸ the three of you got to work, you let zhongli handle the bamboo shoot soup, because it was his favorite meal to make.

➸ "oh wow, that looks delicious!" you say to zhongli, hoping he at least mutters a "thank you."

➸ but he doesn't. he simply nods and continues to place more ingredients into the soup.

➸ childe talks to you a bit more while you make the shrimp balls, but all you can do is look over at zhongli.

➸ you're worried that you may have not helped him enough in the last commission? maybe you offended him but didn't mean to? the worst scenarios just came rushing into your head.

➸ as you finished, you all placed the food in front of yanxiao to taste.

➸ "delicious! you all know your stuff. thank you, good day now folks!" you all waved goodbye to yanxiao and left the inn.

➸ "thanks for bringing me along today, you two. enjoy the rest of your day!" childe said, waving goodbye and running off to...wherever he goes throughout the day.

➸ now that it was finally the two of you, you turn to zhongli, but...he isn't there?

➸ you look around and can't see him anywhere. you start to panic a little and walk around, trying to find him.

➸ still seeing no sight of him, you try to go back into the hotel when you feel someone grab you tightly into a secluded corner below the inn.

➸ before you almost punch him, zhongli grabs your arm and stares right into your eyes.

➸ "y/n. please tell me, are you tired of me?" hearing this just made your heart sink. tired of him? what could that even mean?

➸ "tired of you? god, zhongli i can't get enough of you." you say, putting your hands on his cheeks.

➸ zhongli places his hand on yours, and quietly says, "i'm...sorry i didn't rescue you. childe is probably the hero you want."

➸ you laugh a little, stunned by the fact that zhongli actually was jealous.

➸ "you are my hero. now and forever. you make me smile, you keep me safe and you give me life."

➸ zhongli smiles and gives you a kiss, a slow one. a passionate, loving one. those were rare, but you loved them so much.

➸ feeling his hands wrap around your waist, his fingers comb through your hair, you absolutely melted.

➸ when he pulled away, you hugged. you said nothing else, you just hugged for over 5 minutes, enjoying each other's warmth.

➸ "i...love you, y/n. more than you'll know." zhongli whispers.

➸ "right back at you, love."

➸ childe definitely got jealous a lot, not because he didn't trust you, he just never felt good enough for you. you were a perfect person in his eyes, and he never thought he was the same.

➸ you found it cute, but you never failed to remind him that he was so very important to you.

➸ today, you and childe took a little trip to inazuma. you both wanted to go back, since it was such a beautiful place.

➸ when you arrived, you were both greeted cheerfully by thoma. "ah, y/n! tartaglia! glad you made it safe."

➸ you both shook thoma's hands, and you all proceeded to walk around inazuma.

➸ childe told you beforehand that he was going to spoil you today, (which he always does anyway) but you didn't really want much. you just wanted his company.

➸ thoma lead all of you to a quaint little restaurant that served all kinds of inazuma snacks.

➸ you were clearly drooling just looking at the menu, and childe noticed that.

➸ before childe could call up a waiter, someone already came to your table holding an array of different treats on a tray.

➸ "i recall that you guys favored these snacks in your last visit, yes?" thoma said, giving each of you a treat.

➸ you thanked thoma for the gesture, but he wasn't finished with you yet.

➸ "i know you also liked these sakura mochi, but didn't buy enough because they were a tad bit pricy." thoma added, pushing a plate of beautiful sakura mochi towards you.

➸ "a tad?! these are like 1,000 mora a piece! i can't accept this, thoma." you said, clearly flustered from the offer.

➸ thoma shook his head and said, "i insist. come on, you're not even here that often, i missed you! this is my thank you for coming back."

➸ you just smiled at him and thanked him once again before digging into your delicious snacks.

➸ you all chatted throughout the afternoon, but childe seemed to ignore thoma's questions.

➸ "hey, tartaglia. do you like your onigiri?" childe didn't respond. he just continued to talk to you about his adventures in the fatui.

➸ after a few more repeats of this, you excused yourself from the table and yanked childe along with you.

➸ when you were out of earshot from thoma, you asked childe, "what is your problem with thoma?"

➸ he just avoided eye contact with you and stayed silent. this was starting to piss you off.

➸ "look at me." you said, your death glare getting more and more intimidating.

➸ he still kept his gaze away from you, so you grabbed his face and faced it towards yours.

➸ "answer the question. thoma is being super welcoming and you're not even batting an eye in his direction!"

➸ childe takes a deep breath and pulls you into a spot without anyone around.

➸ "only...i can spoil you like that." he finally mutters, hugging you a little too tightly once you two are alone.

➸ "the look in your eyes, the flustered look on your face...i don't want anyone else to give you that. just me, only me." he said, burying his face into the crook of your neck even further.

➸ you have never seen childe like this. whenever he did get jealous he never showed it in such a forward manner.

➸ you pulled his face out of your neck and gave him kisses in his favorite spots.

➸ starting with the forehead, the nose, and then the lips.

➸ you both start to melt into the kiss, falling deeper and deeper into a total lovesick state.

➸ before things escalate, childe pulls away and puts his head against yours.

➸ "you're gorgeous." childe whispers, making your face heat up from embarrassment and look away from him.

➸ when you look back, you stare into his beautiful blue eyes, and say with all integrity, "i love you."

➸ childe smiles and gives you one last kiss before saying, "let's head back to that thoma fellow. he's probably thinking we got kidnapped by now."

➸ kaeya is definitely the jealous type. no matter how cocky he may seem, he gets jealous at the many friends you make on your adventures, let alone how close you get to some of them.

➸ you don't know this though. as far as you know, you two are friends with benefits and nothing more. you did want more, but you never knew how kaeya would react.

➸ you and kaeya were training together one day, not official favonius training, just challenging each other to see who would buy drinks tonight again.

➸ while you were taking a break, a big group of people came rushing towards the two of you.

➸ they all showered you both with compliments, because you were both pretty popular throughout mondstadt. whenever you had combat training like this, you were always watched by a crowd.

➸ after almost all of the crowd left, one guy stayed and continued talking to you.

➸ "wow, you really are amazing! you can fight and you're gorgeous. what a perfect combo." hearing this made you feel warm inside, obviously you blushed a little bit and thanked him.

➸ he continued to compliment and flatter you, but when your conversation came to a close, he suggested, "hey, would you wanna go out with me sometime? maybe to good hunter?"

➸ this caught you off guard, since you had some sort of situationship with kaeya, but maybe this guy could help you get over him.

➸ before you could accept, kaeya steps in front of you and holds your hand tightly with his.

➸ "sorry. she's taken, fella. run along, now." the guy scoffed and turned away, clearly intimidated by kaeya's terrifying death glare.

➸ kaeya turned back to you, and held your face with his hands for a moment.

➸ "this has been on my mind for a while now, and that bastard flirting with you was the final boost of encouragement i needed..." kaeya took a deep breath and looked right into you eyes.

➸ "please be mine, for as long as you'll have me." you could see the a shade of red creeping up kaeya's face as he said this, but you were in too much shock to tease him at this point.

➸ after a little too much silence, kaeya quickly removes his hands off your face and says, "uh--! nevermind, ignore what i said bye bye!" before he can run off, you grab his arm.

➸ "i never even got to tell you my answer." you say, pulling him closer to you.

➸ he winces, shutting his eyes, probably waiting for a rejection. you chuckle a bit before leaning in to kiss him.

➸ kaeya's eyes widen, but he quickly melts into the kiss. pulling you in by the waist, combing his fingers through your hair and moving his hand all around your body.

➸ when you pull away, kaeya continues to comb through your hair, a big smile painted on his face.

➸ "i love you." you say, catching kaeya off guard a little.

➸ "i...love you." kaeya says. before you can kiss him again, he continues, "more than you'll ever know."

➸ you both smile and laugh a little in embarrassment, and walk home together, hand in hand.

➸ you didn't know whether or not itto was the jealous type, he was usually too dense to even notice other people flirting with you at times.

➸ you definitely got jealous more, with itto being the confident, suave type, everyone in inazuma had a thing for him. you never showed it though, just in case itto found jealousy to be...gross.

➸ you and itto were taking a stroll around inazuma, getting some snacks and chatting about literally everything.

➸ at one point you discussed if you could build a house purely out of cheese, which was basically a whole monologue by itto.

➸ while you were both chomping down on some tricolor dango, gorou walked up to you both.

➸ gorou was your best friend, and you actually haven't seen him in a while due to his own personal duties. you were glad to finally see him.

➸ "hey! y/n! itto!" gorou greeted, taking a seat across the table from the two of you.

➸ you both smiled and greeted him as well, both glad to see him this afternoon.

➸ "how've you both been?" gorou asks, curiously leaning towards you two.

➸ itto starts to talk about all the adventures you two have been on ever since dating, and his sudden compliments made you blush a little bit. (by a little i mean a lot)

➸ gorou inches closer to you while you both listen to itto talk about the time he got stuck inside a slime, and quickly bites off half of your tricolor dango.

➸ "hey! what the-" you put the snack in your other hand and put it as far from gorou's mouth as possible.

➸ gorou continues to lean into you, his hands gripping your thighs to stay steady.

➸ you try to lean back a bit, but it makes you fall over onto a grass patch nearby.

➸ gorou grabs the dango and continues to eat it whilst pinning you down to the ground.

➸ "fine. take it then, it's a reward for coming back here." you say, raising your arms in surrender.

➸ you both laugh and gorou stands up and puts out his hand to help you up from the ground.

➸ you decide to get yourself some sakura mochi as compensation for the stolen dango.

➸ when you get back, gorou and itto are nowhere in sight. but then you hear someone scream, "go itto!!" from behind you. what you see is a crowd of people surrounding something.

➸ when you make your way through the crowd, you see itto and gorou having what looks like a...standoff?

➸ gorou's face looks absolutely terrified, it's clear he was probably forced into this by itto. but itto never picks fights with gorou, they're really close.

➸ "you wanna have y/n? huh? come fight me!" excuse me...what?! you could not believe what you were seeing.

➸ "oh my archons, i have told you a billion times when you dragged me over here, i'm not into them!" gorou shouted, starting to get irritated.

➸ before things can escalate, you run to the center of the fight and call it off immediately. "okay folks, shows over."

➸ the crowd groans and walks away, and you call over gorou while pulling itto by the ear to a secluded area.

➸ "what the hell was that?!" you shout, causing itto to wince a little.

➸ "it's just that...i forgot how close you and gorou were. seeing you and him fight over that stupid dango a while ago made me feel...odd." taken aback, your eyes widen at itto's response.

➸ itto was...jealous? and he wanted to fight poor gorou for your honor? no matter how old schooled that sounded, it was still very sweet.

➸ you place your hands on itto's face and pull him down to yours. "you know that i love you, right?" itto nods. "so there's no need to be jealous. gosh, you are so amazing, if anything i'm the one who should be getting jealous of all your fans!"

➸ itto laughs a little bit, and kisses you. it was a short one, so you pull him back in for one more.

➸ his kisses were always so sweet. never too rough, it's just a genuinely loving kiss that you absolutely melted for.

➸ when he pulls away, you stare at each other until you here a sigh from behind the two of you.

➸ "i'm right here. get a room, will ya?" gorou was with you the whole time and you barely noticed.

➸ you apologize and gorou just scoffs as you all wave goodbye to each other.

➸ itto holds your hand tight and gives you a big, bright smile. you smile back and lean on his shoulder as you walk back home.

➸ albedo rarely got jealous, let alone show any other form of anger towards you. you were the beacon of joy in his life, and absolutely nothing you did failed to give him a smile.

➸ you never got jealous either, you and albedo were together constantly and he didn't really like spending time with others besides you, aether and sucrose.

➸ one day you and albedo were painting together, like you did every week. you were painting a beautiful view of mondstadt. while albedo was painting well...you.

➸ you were just about done when you felt someone blow into your ear.

➸ "arh--! what was-" you look behind you and see kaeya. of course, he always did stuff like this to you. although as his best friend, you learned to let it go.

➸ "good afternoon y/n, albedo. pleasant day, isn't it?" kaeya says, looking out at the view you were painting.

➸ you all chat until nightfall and kaeya offers to buy all of you drinks at angel's share.

➸ you both agree and follow the young cavalry captain to the bar to have a drink together and chat.

➸ when you arrive, kaeya orders drinks for the table and you and albedo take a seat beside one another.

➸ kaeya places his hand on yours, which startles you a bit but you don't say anything.

➸ he keeps it there, which doesn't faze you since he's done things like this ever since you were kids but you catch a glance of albedo and he's looking right at your hands.

➸ you try to take your hand off when kaeya grabs it and says, "i'm a little bored. i suggest a staring contest." while holding your hands in his.

➸ before you can say no, albedo grabs kaeya's hands and glares right at him. "i'd like to play, kaeya."

➸ poor kaeya was forced to stare deep into albedo's piercing glare until he decided it was better to lose than to keep staring.

➸ "i-i'll get our drinks, be right back!" kaeya says, scuttering off to the bartender.

➸ you look back at albedo who is...grinning? in a mischievous way, may i add.

➸ "hey, what are you smiling about?" you ask him. he takes your hand in one of his and uses the other to comb through your hair.

➸ "i may have been, what you call, jealous." albedo mumbles, slowly getting redder and redder.

➸ you chuckle a bit, but quickly pull him into a hug and run your hands through his soft hair.

➸ "there's nothing to be jealous about, alright? there's a reason i'm with you and not that silly pirate boy." you whisper, continuing to slowly caress his head with your hands.

➸ "could we abandon him? i have a project i'd like to work on with you at home." albedo says.

➸ "oh? what project?" you ask, curious. he's never wanted your help with projects before.

➸ "i just need to study...the human body." he says, smirking a bit.

➸ it only took a few moments until you understood and your face turned bright red just imagining it.

➸ "what do you say, darling?"

A/N: today’s prompt: Hair Brushing/Styling

"No, no, no! It's all wrong! Why must it be like this now!?" You groan, attempting to brush out knots in your hair.

You're getting ready, or attempting to get ready, for a date with Thoma.

Everything is going so well, your outfit is perfect, nicely done... However, your hair decides to misbehave at the last moment. It will not stay in place no matter what you do. When you brush and style the hair in a beautiful hairstyle, there is always a strand sticking out or laying in the wrong direction.

You put the brush away with a growl and begin untangling yet another failed hairstyle. You can't possibly leave like this! Not on a first date!

You get up and start walking around, trying to come up with a solution to this situation when you hear Thoma's cheerful voice calling you from behind the door. You immediately grab it to prevent him from entering. He can't look at you like this!

"H-Huh? Is something wrong, Y/N? Is your door stuck?" He inquires, perplexed.

"No! That is not the case... Just… I'm not quite ready yet. I have a little problem here," you respond honestly.

"Do you require assistance?"

Naturally, he asks you that. Thoma at his best.

You remain silent on the other side of the door, unsure what to do, but eventually decide to let him in.

Your door slides open to reveal Thoma, who looks as good as ever.

"So? What's the issue, love? You look great today," he says, making you blush.

You nervously point at your hair while playing with your hands. "My hair is acting up today. I worked hard to brush them in order to look nice tonight."

Thoma blinks at you, his head slightly tilted to the side.

"You're always stunning, but you can't seem to keep those lovely locs under control. I am delighted to assist," Thoma smiles as he pats the seat in front of a mirror.

You return the smile and take a seat, staring at your reflection.

Thoma approaches you from behind and immediately begins brushing your hair. Despite the tangles you're certain are in your hair, the brush moves smoothly.

As he continues to work, your boyfriend begins to hum.

"Could you please close your eyes? No peeking until I'm finished, okay?"

You simply comply with his request.

He soon puts the brush away and begins to play with your hair, gently pulling and twisting the strands as he pleases.

Thoma pecks your cheek after a while, you're not sure how much time passed. "You are now free to look."

You open your eyes with a gasp - he managed to put your hair in a beautiful braid with no flaws!

"You look even more beautiful," he says. ”So? Shall we? Now, that the minor issue has been resolved?" Thoma extends his hand to you.

You gladly accept it with a short nod. "Yes," you laugh, getting up to finally go on a planned date.
