I don’t use tone tags to help you understand. I use them so you don’t get mad at me because you misunderstood. It is not the same.
I HATE using tone tags I die a little inside every time I use one but it’s better to be safe than sorry,,,,,,

not 2 mention ppl using us being nd or mentally ill as a way of saying that we can't possibly know our own identity a prime example of this being jk rowling attempting 2 use autistic afab trans ppl like myself against the rest of the trans community by saying that we're "being lead astray" and using the fact that we're autistic 2 try 2 make it seem like we don't know who we r

actually you know what that's exactly it i would rather someone add 5 parantheticals after every sentence than use tone indicators it's 1. accomplishing SO much more in terms of clarity 2. extremely funny to look at depending on how they're used
i always read '/nm' (not mad) as the most passive aggressive thing.. i know it's not meant to be but i'm so used to understanding 'not mad' as 'i'm fucking furious and you're going to get an earful' that my brain reads it as angry⁹⁰⁰⁰⁰ 💀

Unpopular opinion but we should stop abbreviating tone tags
Like sure im not stopping you from using them like that or anything but are they really an accessible tool if i have to memorise a list of them.
Plus they mess up screen readers
How is it ‘accessible’ if the only people who can use them or understand them are the ones who sat down and decided to memorise a whole pile of acronyms.
Its not gonna kill you to type out /negative
And ive seen a lot of people mistake ‘/pos’ as ‘piece of shit’ thats just one example but its easy to think they mean something they dont.
