In honor of Halloween what would the ROs go as for couple costumes if they wanted to go to a spooky party with the MC.

💛 Marcel

Marcel would be so happy to spend the holidays with someone, and he would take every opportunity to make it romantic. He would pick another couple for you two to dress as—a couple with a happy ending and a passionate love story, just like your own.

🧡 Margaret

Margaret would love to do something funny. She would see Halloween as the time for some puns, so going for a cute outfit would make her night.

❤️ Owen

Owen would like something with a fighting theme. He would love to be the best fighting couple, but watch out; he does get pretty competitive. So, he will be making/ buying the costume weeks before Halloween.

💙 Rosemary

Rosemary would love to go for something romantic, elegant, or symbolic. Like an angel and a demon, enemies, however, they need to be together to live on. She would put too much thought into it, to be honest.

🩵 Tai

Ohhhh, that is a difficult one because Tai would rather die again than dress up for a Halloween especially a couple costume, but if he had the chance to pick the outfit or have at least a say, he would pick something that would take the least effort, like a headband with bunny ears or drawing Wiskers than calling himself a cat. Give him a break! He does have a job

💚 Zane

Horror. Horror. Horror. Do I need to say more. Zane would want to be the star of the ball, and during Halloween, that means being the scariest, he is taking you on a wild ride. 😜. Plus, being the villain is sexy to him.

Trick or Treat Short Story

Summary: This Halloween MC has a treat for Aunt Zinnia but first they have to pull a little trick that involves a costume.

Notes: Happy Halloween and Enjoy this cute little story about little MC. MC will be called Marley Charter in this short story.

“I wanna be a mouse for Halloween,” Marley Charter said, coloring a picture of Cinderella in her pumpkin carriage on the dining table.

Zinnia popped her head up from where she's making a bowl of ice cream for herself and Marley Charter. Triana was coming over for the night, and another fight with Francisco seemed to put a bitter taste in Triana's mouth. It made Zinnia's heart beat faster that Triana would rather spend the night on Zinnia's couch than make peace with her partner. Though, those feelings were quickly followed with guilt. It’s was nearing Marley's bedtime, but they gave Zinnia the doe eyes around seven o'clock, requesting they have just one more hour to see Triana.

“You mean you want to be Gus Gus?” Zinnia asked, leaning forward and looking at the picture Marley Charter was coloring. Cinderella had been Marley's hyperfixation for the past week, not for the princess herself but for her round-ear sidekicks, especially Gus Gus.

"Yeah, and you can be Cinderella,” Marley Charter declared.

They flipped through their coloring pages, pulling out a picture of Cinderella wearing a big dress with sparkles around her body and an old woman in the background with a wand. Marley waved them in her face. “You will look so pretty!" Their tone was filled with excitement.

Zinnia eyed the coloring page and tried not to cringe at the picture of the princesses smiling, literally mocking Zinnia. The blue ball gown looked like torture, and Zinnia would have rather been dead than to ever be in the same room with that blue monster with the sparks and the bows.

"Are you sure you don’t want me to go as the prince?" Zinnia asked. 

“Nah. We already have a prince,” Marley Charter said, taking the bowl of ice cream.

Zinnia groaned while Marley ate their ice cream. Zinnia just looked down at the picture in her hands.

Triana didn't make it to Zinnia's house till much later, much to Marley's dismay, as they were sent to bed at eight o'clock, which almost sent the seven-year-old into a fit, but Zinnia promised that she would make them their favorite breakfast in the morning. The promise of good food settled the kid down.

Triana came into the bakery while Zinnia was cleaning up and preparing for tomorrow. Zinnia tried not to stare, but it was hard. Triana had an overnight bag over her shoulder, her fist clenched, probably to stop her claws from coming out.

"You want to talk about it?" Zinnia asked; she knew it was a waste of time. Triana never wanted to talk about the fights she had with her husband, and Zinnia was okay with that because she felt if she knew everything, it would take all her will not to punch Fransico in the face.

Triana looked at Zinnia and started to make herself some tea. "Not tonight." 

Zinnia sat down in the dining room, looking at Triana's curves while her back was turned.

Triana smiled and, with a hot cup of tea, sat next to her friend. 

“Marley Charter picked their Halloween costume tonight,” Zinnia said as Triana took a sip of tea.

“Oh yeah, what dynamic duo will they be this year?”

Triana said, smiling. Since Camila's and Marley's first Halloween, they have matched—maybe not the same character, but they have always picked from the same series or fandom, whatever they were into. The two kids often roped their Zinnia and Triana into matching with them. Zinnia and Triana often saw them planning their costumes months in advance; however, this year, it seemed to be kept on the down low until tonight.

“Cinderella,” Zinnia said with a sigh.

“As in?” Triana asked with a sly smile that Zinnia narrowed her eyes at.

"Gus Gus,” Zinnia said, pointing up to where Marley was sleeping upstairs. “Cinderella,” she said, gesturing to herself. 

“I am guessing that the Oleander gene passed on, and Marley Charter is too stubborn to pick another character for you?” Triana asked with a teasing tone that Zinnia huffed at.

Halloween Night.....

Zinnia furrowed her brows in the mirror, and her hair was pulled back in a headband to give everyone a clear view of her eyes, which unsettled her and were usually hidden by her black hair.

Marley Charter wanted to dye her hair blonde, but Zinnia was able to shut down that train before it even left the station.

But dying her hair blonde couldn't have been worse than trading her all black clothing for the blush-pink soft chiffon, with puffed sleeves and a ruffled neckline.

"This is for Marley." Zinnia repeated herself for the hundredth time, but her existential thoughts came to a halt when she heard a little voice. 

"Wow, you look beautiful!" A squeal came from behind Zinnia to see Marley Charter in their most adorable mouse costume that Zinnia had ever seen.

"Well, aren't you the cutest mouse I have ever seen?" Zinnia pulled Marley in for a hug and a small nuggy, which made the seven-year-old squeal in excitement.

"Thank you," Marley said between giggles.

The sound of the doorbell rang, and Marley's head popped up.

"Camila is here!" Marley jumped off the bed in a flash and ran down the stairs to meet their friend.

Zinnia sat on the bed for only a second before cracking her neck. "Come on, Orlender, you have fought actual monsters; you can walk in heels for a few hours." She said to herself, staggering on one foot down the stairs.

Zinnia looked up from her feet. "Don't you dare laugh if I fall down-." Zinnia stopped in her tracks, and her breath caught.

Zinnia had never seen Triana dress up; it was one of the things that she admired about the other woman—the natural beauty radiating off her made Zinnia's knees already feel like jelly.

Triana wore a cream royal jacket and red pants with a gold stripe, which went well with her hair up in a bun. The brown-haired woman's face had light makeup, and Zinnia wondered how the red sparkles on her eyelids stayed on.

Triana always looked beautiful, but Zinnia had to admit that tonight she looked like a goddess. But that wasn't what stunned her; Triana was prince charming while she was Cinderella; they kissed in the movie. THE CHARACTERS KISSED.  They were a couple in the movie. This had to count as a couple of costumes, right? Of course, it wasn't, but Zinnia had to admit that just thinking of her and Triana together like that made her heart swell.

"Hey, Zinnia, are you ready to go?" Triana's black-gloved hands went on the stroller that was by her side. The sight of a rosy-cheeked baby caught her eye as Luis slept, probably not even bothered that he was dressed up as a pumpkin.

Zinnia's mouth felt dry as she spoke. "I thought Camila was being Prince Charming."

Zinnia looked over to Marley, who ran around with Camila, who was dressed in a blue robe and wand.

Triana smiled. "Oh well, I think Marley gave Camila the idea to be a fairy godmother instead, while I was Prince Charming." Triana paused while Zinnia zoned out, processing the information.

"It doesn't bother you, right? That I am a prince charming? I know it can give people the idea that we are-" Triana started. 

"No!" Zinnia yelled, which made Triana jump a little in surprise, and Zinnia gave her an apologetic look before continuing.

"No." Zinnia said, softer this time. "It doesn't bother me." Zinnia didn't mean it to sound as out of breath as it did, but there were no takebacks.

NTriana licked her lips, and Zinnia realized how close they were. This was wrong. Triana was married. Triana was her best friend.

Zinnia pulled back, and Triana seemed to come out of some sort of trance.

"Should...uh...we get going?" Zinnia said, her eyes still on Triana's lips.

Triana nodded, a look of confusion written on her face. "Are we going to Cedar Street?" She asked, pushing the stroller out the door, which gave Camila and Marley the hint that it was time to go as they ran out the door onto the sidewalk.

"Cedar Street?! In these heels, you must be joking." Zinnia put her arm around Triana, the tension disappearing in an instant as they followed the hyper kids down the street.

It really was a happy Halloween.

Can the MC not romance anyone? I was just wondering if not that is totally okay? I know that some authors are more plot driven than with the romance?

Hello! Thank you for the question! For right now, your MC would have to be in a romantic relationship with an RO, at least by book 3 or growing in romance points (no pressure! ALOT OF SLOW BURN). This is a supernatural romance story, and without the romance, there isn't enough meat on the bone for it to even be a story at all. Just to be clear, you do not need to have a sexual relationship with the ROs. I felt like I needed to put that out there, as I wanted there to be asexual representation in my story.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. As for your ask.....

Zinnia: Zinnia would definitely be the one hosting Thanksgiving and would bake all kinds of sweets, from her famous lemon bars to apple pie; however, she is horrible at cooking, like very bad, so you would have to order in or get it precooked. I have imagined you, the MC, just being surrounded by sweets and like one thing of Chinese takeout on Thanksgiving.

💛 Marcel: Marcel would bring Concia di zucchine, his favorite dish when he was younger, which would bring back so many complicated memories, and he would have to leave the room for a little bit but would come back a little happier.

💛 Marcel: Mischievous as hell. He was known to help other kids if they needed something like food or some type of medicine, and a lot of the little kids were drawn to him and tried to follow some of his stunts, like stealing and pranking around the village, which left many of the adults to name him as a troublemaker. As he grew, he kind of grew out of the mischievousness; however, he still used his skills if it was necessary, but he was known to have a golden heart who helped everyone. 

🧡 Margaret: Proper, but bashful. She would mimic her sister, who was considered the ideal child by many. Her father stifled her early curiosity, which led her to follow in her sister's footsteps when she was younger and much more inquisitive about the world. She attended all of her lessons, ate her veggies, curtsied to everybody (even to people who were considered less than), and had manners. 

♥️ Owen: Wild. He didn't have the best childhood, but he always got into fights or found some sort of trouble. He was very bold and stood up to bullies when he saw them, which honestly just got him bullied more, which left a lot of the other kids wanting nothing to do with him. He didn't mind; he had his imagination, which never let him down. 

💙 Rosemary: She was a total rebel and very strong-willed. She had older brothers and a strict father; she was known to do the opposite of whatever her father said if she thought that it was holding her back. Loud even when she was called "unlady" and persuaded some of her brothers to cover for her if she snuck out or skipped out on work. 

🩵 Tai: He was a very bubbly child when he was very young; however, as he got older, he became more stoic due to events in his life. He was very observant of the people he would spend a lot of time with, but no one really knew anything about him. He was a mystery, even to the people who considered him a friend. As he grew, he dived into work that was in front of him, even though he hated it to the point that it was unhealthy. However, he was seen as a star worker to his superiors.

💚 Zane: Sad and angry, not much has changed. He was alone most of the time; his caretaker was not the most welcoming, so he was very much left alone with himself. He would do puzzles against a mirror and pretend that someone was there till he finally realized that he would rather die than be let down again, so he very much grew closer to [redacted] with the help of his caretaker, which let some sort of twisted bond grow between them.

💛 Marcel: Marcel loves the winter season now, but back in his other life, the winter solstice was much more of a chore and really for the rich, as it was a time to feast, which Marcel really couldn't afford, and to worship the gods, with whom he had a very strained relationship.

🧡 Margaret: Margaret has always loved the winter season, especially Christmas, which her family celebrated. Margaret and her older sister would put on a play every year on Christmas Eve, and on New Year's Eve, her father would always have a ball at their manor.

♥️ Owen: Honestly, he does not care one way or the other. His family didn't celebrate Christmas or really any holiday during the winter. Back when he was alive, the winter solstice was a time of dread and famine; however, now he only sees the winter season of today as more of a hassle that people put themselves through. Although he can appreciate it, there really isn't as much of a dire need to survive the winter anymore unless you count holiday shopping.

💙 Rosemary: Rosemary also adores Christmas, just as her mother did; however, don't expect her to just sit there and enjoy the pretty lights. Oh no, no, no. She is going all out; she wants to decorate, bake cookies, and go Christmas caroling. All through the season, she is going to be enjoying whatever the winter has in store for her, and she will drag you along for the ride

🩵 Tai: Tai was actually raised Buddhist and celebrated holidays such as Chinese New Year and other family traditions brought from China; however, as he got older and was surrounded by more American traditions, especially more Christian ( Methodists), he adopted those as well, and while he celebrates both Christian and Buddhist holidays, he really doesn't go way out, but if you really wanted him to go all the nine yards, he guesses he can make that sacrifice.

💚 Zane: Bitter. Growing up, he would see all the other children having fun while he would have to train, which left him a big old grinch during this holly jolly holiday. However, he does enjoy the cold. Growing up, he would make snow angels or, honestly, just lay in the snow until his lips turned blue. I do think if he has the option to grow close to you, he would enjoy the holidays and would like to do all the cheesy holiday stuff with you, but you better believe he wants to be paid back in full. Maybe with some red and green lingerie? Lol. 

You glanced at the mistletoe hanging above the doorway and let out a small smirk as you called them over. Their eyes twinkled when they met you under the doorway, not seeming to notice your little trick, but after a few seconds, they glanced up, noticing that you were under the mistletoe.

💛 Marcel:

Marcel looked back at you and studied you for only a second before he gently took your cheek, giving you time to pull away before his lips touched yours in a sweet, lingering kiss, the taste of Aunt Zinnia's chrismas cookies and hot coco mixing together in perfect bliss.

The curly-haired man pulled back, his thumb gently rubbing against your lower lip before giving you two even more distance.

"We...we should get back to the party." However, he didn't let go of your hand.

She disappeared in the crowd of people, leaving you standing there.

Margaret looked back at you, a small pout coating her lips. "Why is there a Viscum album hanging from your doorway?"

You gave her a soft smile and explained the tradition, and she immediately popped up with excitement and a bright red blush.

"So, it is tradition, right?"

You gave a small smile and nodded.

She gave you a small peck on the lips, and before you know it, she is running away with you, her face even more red than before.

"Thank you! It was nice!"

"Tradition is tradition." He said it in a surprising, soft voice before going back to the party.

♥️ Owen:

Owen let out a bark of laughter and looked around the room. "Who is trying to get pregnant?"

You frowned in confusion for only Owen to explain. "That is a mistletoe; legend says that if a woman were to kiss under it, she would come with a child."

You laughed a little and explained the newer tradition, which Owen even laughed harder at.

"Ye'r kidding? So, it is an excuse for people to make out with their love at a bloody party? That feels even more ridiculous than the fertility thing."

You tried not to let your disappointment show, but you felt a small peck on your cheek. It was so quick that you thought you imagined it, and when you looked at the redhead, he didn't make eye contact with you.

She walked away with a little sway in her hips, and you are left standing at what just happened. 

💙 Rosemary:

Rosemary gave you a raised eyebrow and knew instantly about your little trick; however, she just pulled out a ruby-red lip stick and a pocket mirror while you watched in confusion. 

"What are you-" 

Rosemary shushed you with a look, and with a new coat of red lips stuck on her lips, she leaned forward and gave you a passionate kiss, leaving your legs weak as you leaned back against the door frame. When you both caught your breath, you noticed that her new coat was all but gone and a little smudge, then it clicked that the red was all over your own lips, probably smudged beyond compare to Rosemary's. 

Rosemary grinned. "You love quite... blissful Angelface/Handsome/Dollface...now go show off your pretty pink lips." 

Tai nodded as you handed him a drink, sipping from your own red Solo cup in a casual manner and making some small talk. However, you felt Tai's eyes linger on your lips with a regretful look.

🩵 Tai:

Tai's eyes snapped back towards you, and he stepped back in what looked like fear and something else as you saw him swallow, letting out an uncharacteristic meek. 

 "No."He pressed his lips together, a faint blush painting his cheeks.

You put your hands up in surrender. "I'm not going to force anything on you, Tai. "

You felt a shiver run down your spine.

💚 Zane:

Zane gave you a dangerous look before grabbing you by the chin and pulling you in for a rough kiss, teeth clashing together, and when you come up for air, Zane bites your lip.

"I am guessing you're my present this year." Zane squeezed your ass before leading you upstairs.

"Where are we going?" You said it in a dazed voice, following Zane before you could rationalize anything.

Zane chuckled from low inside his gut. "Oh little lion, I don't share what's mine. I don't need anybody looking at you while I make you scream."

Release Date for Chapter Three

It is finally here: the release date for Part 2 of Chapter 3. I am sorry that it took so long, but I am happy to announce that My Inner Sins will be updated on 2/18/2024. There were a lot of changes made that I think everyone will appreciate, including an actual save system and an updated stats profile for your character.

I saw that the ROs were really old minus Zane so I was wondering do the ROs still celebrate their birthdays? or is that like a thing that died once they...well....died? Do demons celebrate their birthdays in hell?

Usually, most demons don't, but Imps (the children of demons in hell) do, as they were born in hell.

Yes, he does! He even takes the day off if his lord allows him to go out, get some drinks with a few of his work colleagues, or spend a quiet night in. 

🧡Margaret

Margaret does as well; she tries to make a cake every year for her birthday, which ends up being one that she shares with her friends and patient in hell, even giving a slice to her lord, who will try to eat the cake to appease Margaret. People can't say no to her even if they have to eat burnt food. 

💙Rosemary

It brings up many bad memories, so she tries to avoid it, and only Lady Opal knows her date of birth. 

❤️Owen

No, he didn't celebrate it when he was alive, so why should that change once he died? 

🩵Tai

Not really. I mean, he doesn't try to hide it like Rosemary, but he doesn't see it as important after living for so long; it is something that he treats like every other day. 

Although he doesn't really appreciate Lady Beryl's gag gifts.

💚Zane

I know Zane hasn't died, but I will leave you with this bit of lore. 

Zane doesn't know his birthday date, much less has ever celebrated it.
