Everyone talking about how they are the most excited to see Grover in a wedding dress (if/when) we get a second season of the Percy Jackson series. And I understand the excitement for all the giddy moments that are to come from that, as the book is adapted episode per episode :,D. BUT BUT !! I myself am actually more excited to see that one emotional conversation that Percy has with Tyson at the very end of The Sea of Monsters :,). That conversation is so precious to me, and I hope it makes it Final Cut of the series. I want the scene to be brought to life beautifully and accurately.
I want to see Percy go and apologize to Tyson for feeling ashamed and annoyed of having him as a half cyclops brother at the beginning of the book; only for Tyson to tell him that he had asked Poseidon for him.

-Just imagine it
-They all go to a barn called SPQR Equestrian Center or maybe something like Neptune Stables
-Chiron is the head coach
-Silena is the assistant coach who is fresh out of college and always spoils the horses rotten with mints and sugar cubes from her dad's candy shop
-Her boyfriend Charles Beckonford works as a Farrier (makes horse shoe's and puts them on horses' hooves) and swings by the barn a lot, even if he isn't needed
-Then he bought a horse named Festus as an excuse to see Silena more (and because he loves horses)
-His apprentice/assistant Leo, tags along and Beckonford lets him ride his horse
-To be honest Leo rides that horse more often then Beckonford does and gives Festus loads of baby carrots so now he's basically Leo's horse
-Festus is toats in love with Silena too but I mean who isn't?
-Percy has the record for most falls off a horse, but it's not Blackjack's fault, it's because Percy does stupid shit
-"Hey Annabeth! Look! No hands- AHHH!"
-Blackjack will come over to his fallen rider and give his face a big lick and Annabeth will roll her eyes, trying to hide her smile
-Blackjack is also known as donut because once there was a box of shipley's donuts on a tack chest and Blackjack grabbed it and tried to eat the donuts, box and all
-Cue 4 riders simultaneously freaking out and trying to get the box out of Blackjack's mouth because that can't be healthy for a horse's stomach
-Percy is laughing and crying as he throws away the box of crushed and horse slobber coated donuts
-Tyson pats his shoulder, it was probably meant as a comforting gesture but Tyson is so big he nearly makes Percy eat dirt
-Tyson doesn't compete in shows like Percy because he gets way too nervous, but he loves riding his Clydesdale, Rainbow
-Grover is a stable hand and basically the guy you ask if you need help
-Percy wouldn't have survived his first month at the barn without Grover's help because "What the hell is a martingale? Do you think this is too loose? Which way do you wrap polos again?"
-(Percy was to embarrassed to ask Miss Perfect Annabeth for help)
-Annabeth has a horse named Yankee as a play on "Yankee Doodle came to town riding on a pony" (also her Yankees invisibility cap cause I'm so clever)
-Annabeth is the most experienced rider at the barn
-She's been riding since she was 7
-Yankee was an anonymous gift she got on her 12th birthday and Annabeth believes it was from her mother who mysteriously disappeared after she was a year old
-She's never told anyone this belief but her best friend Thalia who's house she practically lives at given her not so good relationship with her stepmother
-People often mistake her for Jason's sister and she loves it telling Thalia she'll trade her half brothers for Jason
-Thalia then hooks her arm around Jason and pinches his cheek saying "I wouldn't trade this guy for the world" and Jason is blushing like Thalia stahp
-Jason is a pretty skilled rider himself, competing in shows and earning ribbons with his horse Tempest who has an awful attitude around everyone, but loves his girlfriend piper who comes to hang out and watch him
-Jason glasses keep falling off when he goes over jumps, so he ends up having to tape them onto his ears
-Piper finds this very amusing
-Piper is at the barn just as much as the others and they forget that she doesn't even go there
-what Piper doesn't say is that she likes being there because it's better than her empty mansion
-Her dad once asked her if she wanted to start horseback riding but Piper has what she calls a cautious perspective of horses and prefers to just go on trail rides
-she steals... I mean "borrows" Tempest
-Hazel is the barn's best barrel racer and she adores her horse Arion who the others swear she trained to be an attack dog or something because if anyone tries to touch him but Hazel he freaks out and starts bucking and kicking and foaming at the mouth
-But then Hazel comes up and suddenly Happy Ears! He'll sweetly nuzzle her pocket, searching for treats and Hazel will hold up a horse cookie saying "give me a kiss first"
-and the others think he's gonna bite her but he just lips at her cheek then she gives him the cookie and a neck rub while he munches on his treat, cooing about what a good boy he is and the others are shook
-Nico comes to the barn to support his sister and absolutely does not look at Percy in those tight riding pants
-then one day a vet trainee comes by because a horse got sick and Nico is down like oh man he's got it bad
-the cute blonde is telling Chiron about the horses boo-boo's and scrunches up his face when he thinks hard about what they should do so Porkpie can get better
-Hazel notices Nico's not so secret crush and asks Will to take a look at her horse and oh by the way this is my brother Nico
-Nico ain't sure whether he wants to hug or strangle Hazel but he feels something because his stomach seems to have gone into his throat and gah!
-Frank is new to the barn and still kinda finding his way around
-He's given the tour by Percy then he sees Hazel riding Arion and looking fan-freaking-tastic
-And Frank is like whO iS thAT
-He has a total crush on her but Hazel is oblivious
-Percy ships it
-Frank has a huge draft horse he calls Gray
-Gray used to be his mom's army calvary horse and Frank got into riding as a way to be closer to his dead mother
-But Frank is terrified of that horse because he's ginormous and is prone to "moods"
-Reyna is the best rider in the barn and she knows it. Her and Scipio are always in perfect sync and look amazing
-Reyna really scored with Scipio because he's a total sweetheart and every one else is in love with him
-He was nicknamed skippy by Jason and it stuck
-No one calls him Scipio
-it's Skippy
-Reyna always shows up to practice early and goes up to the barn every day to check on skippy even if she doesn't have a lesson
-She's freaking dedicated okay
-to be honest the barn is basically the teens second home

As an autistic big sister to two incredible humans with Down syndrome, I was not ready for Percy and Tyson’s relationship. The way Rick Roirdan so perfectly encapsulates the experience of having a sibling with a very visible and obvious disability while you battle your own challenges is unlike anything I’ve read before. I know Percy loves Tyson and enjoys his company, but he also struggles with the attention Tyson brings. He wonders why his father chose to have a child like Tyson and doesn’t understand why his friends and camp mates/classmates are so cruel to him. It’s the first time I’ve seen my unique childhood illustrated in media.
I also love that they bring Tyson on the quest. They could have easily left him for the Harpies, blaming his death on his disability/he wandered outside/he wasn’t fast enough to get away, but they bring him along with them because he deserves to be involved. He’s an asset rather than a burden and that speaks volumes to the public perception of people with Intellectual Disabilities. Every single person has usable gifts and skills. It is up to those around them to discover those skills and foster them. Also, the respectful and mature way Percy speaks to Tyson should be studied. He never talks down to him, makes him feel less-than, or makes fun of him for his eccentric hobbies (metalworking). He fully and truly accepts Tyson for who he is and knows the issue lies in himself. Percy must accept Tyson as part of his family and his new reality. Family is forever and it’s an honor to watch Percy understand what that really means.
I really hope we explore this special and unique dynamic in Season 2 and (hopefully) cast an actor with IDD! We could create something magical. ❤️
I introduced a hunger games inspired story for the Bladebreakers and I'm going to dive into the marriage of Kai and Takao. (hinting/brushing over the other details that were in the last post just in case it was not someone's cup of tea). Read the previous post for all those details.
To briefly summarize, Takao and Kai are officially recognize as lovers due to the survival game. This is a marriage that cannot be broken until death.
I love thinking about this so there will be a lot to unpack.
Takao and Kai have to do official marriage ceremonies in both of their countries. Ceremonies are just for show and tradition. They usually have no meaning behind it.
For Kai, his family gives them matching back tattoos and then they are buried under snow afterwards. There is a certain meal they eat too and then they have a grand drinking party since Kai is officially the ex-heir now. They have to sleep in separate rooms.
For Takao, they are blessed by all family members and drink sake. They eat a lot of good food together to ensure they live long together. This is very strict because they have to eat the same foods at the same time. They sleep in the same room, but not together.
Takao is overjoyed at visiting Russia since he has never left Japan before and interested in tattoos since they are not allowed in his family. This is the exception since they are marriage tattoos. Takao does not really like a lot of the foods, but eats it just to please Kai's family. He gets a little homesick because of how badly he is adjusting to Russia. He does not know Russian, Kai's family only know a little bit of Japanese, and Takao cannot speak English too well.
Kai is not happy to see his grandfather and do the ceremony, but wants to enjoy his time with Takao, his cousin Yuriy, and cousin Iwan. Bryan and Sergei accompany them since they are their soulmates (due to the games). He quickly picked up the language barrier with Takao and tries his best to translate.
Yuriy is now the official heir since Kai is marrying an foreigner and he is marrying a Russian like Bryan. This is not common, especially for people close to Hiwatari clan. Tala's blood is the closest to Voltaire which makes him next in line, giving him more enemies than friends.
Takao actually gets along best with Yuriy and Bryan. They call each other by their English names Tyson and Tala, but before they leave, they start calling each other Takao and Yuriy because they get along that well. Bryan only lets Yuriy call him by his actual name and that is only at certain times (like when he's mad lol).
He is visited by his extended family like Brooklyn. Kai never really liked him, but Takao tries to get along with him despite his quirks.
Family friends (who may or may not have weak blood to them) such as the Justice Five, F-Dynasty, BEGA League, Barthez Battalion, the Zagart Family, and Boris. Boris is close to Voltaire (some say they could be having an affair), but he does not work at the main branch often anymore since the children of the main branch started taking on more roles. Yuriy and Iwan do a lot of the jobs now.
Takao gets along with a lot of them pretty well, accidentally having to spend a lot of time with Brooklyn, Mystel, and Garland (much to Kai and Yuriy's displeasure). He is pretty extroverted and did not know how to say no to the 3 powerful people in the family.
Takao really likes hanging out with Zeo, Julia, and Raul, much to Kai's quiet delight because they're the only good other family members. Kai is pretty protective of the 3 since they are often discriminated by other members. Yuriy particularly likes hanging out with this group too if he does not find his cousin Iwan or husband Bryan.
Wow, I talked enough. Next time I will go into how Kai takes in Japan (and ultimately stays there forever).
Time to expand on a previous AU since it was Kai's birthday. Famous musician!Kai x Geek! Tyson
Last time, Takao was avoiding his friend Max since he does not know how to reject him after a confession so he gets a fake boyfriend named Kai.
I just want to get some fun dynamic energies down.
Kai and Takao take care of each other.
Kai often gets lost in his music and practice. He does not often shower, attend classes, or eat especially before a concert. After entering a fake relationship with Takao, he gets reminded to do things like eat (takao wants free meals) or go to class (tutoring takao). Takao is very worried for him and how much he does not take care of himself.
Takao likes the attention from Kai and definitely gets spoiled a little too often by him. Kai does not mind paying for meals or letting him steal his expensive clothes (they were from tala). Kai will often lend him outfits too even if they were already worn by him.
They like playing with one another.
Kai knows a lot of instruments since he was young. He actually is best at piano, but choses to do drums to hide away. He really likes when Takao comes with his ukulele or guitar. Kai thinks Takao is at his best when singing and enjoys their time together.
Kai likes doing their makeup together.
The only thing about his appearance that Kai cares about is his makeup. From the face paint to the eyeliner to the lashes, he puts i time and effort. Takao doesn't really get it, but likes to watch him do his makeup. Sometimes he will join in and let Kai do/test products on him.
They think the other is cute when wearing their outfit.
Sometimes when they go on dates, they have to mix and match outfits to make sure they are not recognized. Takao likes the jacket and hat on Kai. Makes him less intimidating and messes up his hair. Kai thinks he is adorable wearing his too large pants and scarf.
Not to be weird or rude or anything, but that guy could totally pull off one eye

Genuinely curious to see if Annabeth's behavior in HD towards Tyson will have any impact on the ppl that like her. It's one thing to read about her bullying a homeless 8 year old with no family and only 1 friend and another thing to see it - and watch him cry himself to sleep because of it.
Notes I took while re-reading Percy Jackson. Part 2: The Sea of Monsters
• Percy is a skater boy. His mom literally asks him if he wants to got to the skateboard shop and he lights up.
• I'd completely forgotten that the Son of Neptune Canadians joke was originally from this book and I find that hilarious!
• Percy says he's been kicked out of couple of military schools... I bet Gabe was behind him joining those.
• CHIRON MADE ANNABETH JUST CASUAL SWEAR ON THE RIVER STYX TO KEEP PERCY OUT OF DANGER?!?!? I'm sorry, but that is such a stupid thing to do! And she technically breaks that oath... so... what were the consequences she faced...
• The joke about the Stoll brothers last name is great! I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the reason some gods decided to get it on with certain mortals, was purely because of they're last names. I mean, C'mon, Katie and Miranda GARDENER. How on the nose can you get.

• After reading HoO, just the aesthetic of people traveling around in a boat is comforting to me.

people tend to forget that Annabeth went through a lot of the same things Percy did and more, she’s so incredibly strong and you so much more of that when you think about it
imagine annabeth's pain in the botl when she realizes she has to return to camp by herself. imagine annabeth's pain as she recalls the look on grover and tyson's faces when the four of them split in groups of two, not really knowing if they'll see each other again. imagine annabeth's pain as she recalls the way percy lied about having a plan, about the way his lips felt when she kissed him, about the way he screamed as the telekhines burned him alive. imagine annabeth's pain as she walks into camp and people congratulate the group for surviving, and then pause when they notice she's alone. imagine annabeth's pain as she trudges over to athena cabin, crawls into her bunk, and buries herself in the covers for days on end.
THIS IS A JACKS LORE DUMP. VERY, VERY LONG OVERDUE, JACKS LORE DUMP.
This is a certified out-of-character post (also, small irl update)
Jacks was born in the 1700s, specifically 1789, October 31. Jacks is one of the time displaced kids at Camp Half-Blood, and is still getting used to how to use devices. They were kinda confused when Leo [Valdez] handed them a talking brick that made beeps and music.
After one day, after getting claimed by Apollo, they ended up becoming a medical assistant in their village. They were amazing at healing people. Some called them a "healer." Other said they were a witch that immediately needed to be executed by cutting off their head.
They (they being the village, not Jacks) ended up deciding to go down the witchery path when Jacks healed someone's arm, which was mauled by a Lycaon disguised as a regular wolf, and reattaching the dude's arm back onto his body without stitches. Not the smartest move, but then again, the person who got mauled was Jacks's first (secret) boyfriend.
(Quick b-t-dubs, Jacks is descended from Erebus and Hephaestus)
So, when they strapped them to a log, surrounded by spears and tinder, Jacks wasn't sure what to do. They could control small amounts of fire due to being a descendant of Hephaestus, shadow travel because of Erebus, and heal themself if they needed a way to fake dying (somehow).
They decided the safest option was hiding in the Underworld, shadow travelling down there. When they shadow travelled into the underworld, they were immediately met with good news, and bad news.
Good News? There was no longer a bloodthirsty mob after them with flaming torches.
Bad News? They were stuck in Erebus's pocket dimension in the underworld.
Now, I'm not sure if you have been stuck in utter, and complete darkness from 1802 to 2021 (~219 years), stuck at 13 and not being able to think properly, going insane due to isolation for what felt like eternity. But for Jacks? They mentally and physically stayed the same age for years.
They never grew up, they were alone and afraid, forgotten by everyone else until they were able to escape (somehow, idk, I'm working out the details on that as we speak).
When they managed to get out, Nyx and Erebus decided to have Mercy on Jacks, giving them a bracelet that transformed into a small, beaded bracelet, where if you snapped off a bead, the bracelet would transform into a Stygian Iron sickle, kinda like those farmer ones where you can hold it in one hand.
Not that it helped Jacks's situation, but at least they had a weapon to protect themself from everything around them.
Fast forward a few months, specifically a month (and a day) before their birthday, they make it to the rumored Camp Half-Blood. They've heard of it during school at some point through myths and rumors. Also, supposedly George Washington was a demigod, but they never taught that in their school (the teachers were so uncool for that tbh).
When they got there, a teen, around the same age as them, with vitiligo and pink hair. He introduced Jacks to Chiron, and showed Jacks around camp, then introduced himself as Tyler (if you followed my blog for a bit, you know where this is going ;] ).
Tyler was a cool, awesome son of Demeter, descended from Aphrodite (his grandma's side). Jacks was from Pennsylvania and Tyler was from Canada. The two weren't too different either. Jacks, inevitably, started developing feelings for Tyler. Though the feelings were small, and sometimes went away completely, Jacks really wanted to date Tyler.
Tyler ended up asking Jacks out two years after they met, and have been happily dating ever since.
Jacks was afraid of the dark, because of the shadow dimension in the underworld, so Tyler made Jacks a candle that would never go out or melt so Jacks would never be in the dark ever again.
Present day, Jacks spend their time with their friends Nico, Percy, Thalia, Jason, Hazel, Annabeth, Magnus, Toast n' Donut (yes, they're frogs, again, idc), Koi, Xea, Tyson, Ella, Mrs. O'Leary (dogs count, idc), Leo, Will, Hilal Khalil, Tyler, and his adoptive parents Davey M[atten]. Red and John H[arriet]. Red
