Hi i know this isnt quora but does anyone know why my cat has dandruff?
I think it could be dehydration, anxiety or food allergies. He's been having it for a long time know and it bothers me because he is itchy and has dry skin. I dont really have the money to go to the vet since thus is considered a trivial matter but i still care a lot for him. I suspect dehydration and food allergy because my cat is very strange when it comes to food, he refuses to eat anything that isn't kibble even treats like churu or wet food. He seems to be dehydrated because his poop tends to be dry and he usually has a hard time going to the litter plus he is extremely clumsy and doesnt know how to drink anything. We have tried fountains and they have worked a little but he still drinks out of his paws and drops the water everywhere. He also has really dry and itchy skin on his back and is very sensitive when touched anywhere near his column plus he sometimes gets irritation because he bites himself while grooming his back. I dont know if it's anxiety because he does have separation issues and tends to cry a loooooot but it would really calm me down if a vet told me it's just normal. Also he is an orange english shorthair so no hereditary sebhorrea from siameses.

YOUR PET CAN DONATE BLOOD TOO
If you're not yet aware, just like humans, animals are always in need of blood donations. Unlike humans there's less of an awareness of the need for donating blood for dogs and cats, which is why a lot of animals suffer unnecessarily** or the treatment they need is sorely delayed.
Criteria for donating will differ depending on which organisation/practice you're donating through and where you live, but generally if your pet:
Has no transmittable diseases.
Is under 8-10 years old.
Is in a healthy weight bracket.
Is able to be handled at the practice without sedation.
Then your pet can donate blood!
Its an incredibly easy process and your pet can even register to be a standby donor for emergencies. Your pet can also register with animal charities who operate with their own veterinary facilities to be a direct donor.
If you do have a healthy, friendly cat or dog, please consider researching how they can donate blood and save the life of someone else's best friend.

**The biggest supplier of animal blood used for veterinary practises comes from blood farms. While there are many legitimate, humane blood farms there are many who subject the dogs and cats used to appalling conditions and treatment. If there are enough voluntary donations to provide a steady blood reserve, there's an opportunity to decrease the need for blood farms and push for the closure of those who inhumanely handle the animals in their care.
Hi everyone, our 18 month old cat, Smudge, has been diagnosed with mediastinal lymphoma. Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated to help pay for his rapidly increasing veterinary expenses. Thank you❤️

**Update 1**
I noticed that Rainbow's front top-left tooth looked crooked and out-of-place, so I told my mom and she checked it out a little. So Rainbow's tooth is loose and she may need to have it surgically removed by the vet. And according to articles I've read, there will be some aftercare costs that would have to be covered too.
We don't know how much time Rainbow has left, but we can't bear to see her struggle like this. Please consider donating to help me and my mom cover all the expenses if you're able
I'm really sorry for not making many posts as of late.
I wanted to let you guys know that my brother has caught Covid and our cat Rainbow is showing signs that she might die soon; similar signs that Fred gave us when he was struggling to move or eat, almost anything, really.. I'd like to be able to cover the cost of her future cremation and getting an urn for her as soon as possible. Any support at all is greatly appreciated 💚
I hope sharing the link here is fine...

**Update 2**
My mom and I went to the vet earlier this morning and we were recommended to go to a place that specializes in dental work and stuff for dental x-rays to check where "the tooth has broken off" as the lady at the vet said. But they're of course closed tomorrow 🫠
The dental place also covers things like bloodwork, so we'll get that checked out as soon as we can as well.
Hopefully she'll be okay in the meantime with the painkillers and antibiotics we got. The little dry patch you can kind of see in the second photo is from all the drool she's been having lately. It was especially bad today as far as I know.

**Update 3**
Rainbow has grown more weak in her back legs and is unable to clean herself after using the litterbox. It may have something to do with her teeth and she can't lick properly anymore, but my mom has to physically wipe her clean like she did with Fred when he was still alive. She hasn't been walking around much anymore either.
We tried to get in contact with a dental place, but her body seems to be failing her more with each day, so none of us know what to do. She probably doesn't have that much time left. I only hope we have enough painkillers and antibiotics so she's not hurting in her final days. Please help us keep her from suffering.
Again, any help is really appreciated or just spreading the word if you can means a lot.
