Yes the way they included the crows in Shadow and Bone was stupid, but imagine how much better it would be if they just. Made them all 15.
Everything else is the same (minus the erasure of Kaz and Inej's trauma because fuck the writers), the characters are all just closer to their cannon ages at this point in the story. Instead of being ridiculously incompetent adults, they're a group of incredibly confident and wildly chaotic children who are somehow pulling this off with, like, 3 kruge and duct tape.
Just imagine how much better the Kaz and Darkling face-off would be, or Jesper on the Fold train ride, or Inej stabbing the Darkling, if they were a gaggle of angry children.

but like actually tho even their stupid changes for s&b and the dumbass way they integrated the plotlines would be so much better and less
dumb if they didn't age them up
literally cannot understand how this show managed to suck so much as an adaptation. there are so many ways it could have been better.
like if they made them 15 and kept Haskell in the show would instantly be a billion times better. Instead of the heleen thing Inej's
conflict could be that haskell is ordering her to kidnap a girl and shes morally opposed to it but she just joined the dregs and isnt
sure she can say no without being sent back to the menagerie. they could still be having problems w pekka trying to stop them but its more
complicated bc haskell is also involved or something idk
the dialogue would still be shit sometimes and there would still be a lot of problems with the story but at least it would be better than
