Found family isn’t just in fiction! You can forge your own. (Though the fictional ones do resonate for a reason!)

Hey, you! Yes, you! Are you a fan of Our Flag Means Death who's disappointed that the show was cancelled? Good news, we can help each other! I'll sign your petition and spread it around if you do the same with mine! Shadow and Bone was just as unjustly cancelled as Our Flag Means Death, and nothing unites fans more than the cancellation of their favourite shows. So what are you waiting for? Sign the petition, share it, and I will do the same!

When Httyd is my favorite movie trilogy then this is my favorite Book doulogy ever!
Six of crows is by far, for me at least, the best book series I‘ve read. Such interesting Characters with emotional and sad backstories that tie perfectly in the main Story. Ketterdam is by far one of the coolest fictional locations ever. The Barrel is awesome, the crow club, the dregs, the whole atmosphere and aesthetic is so well thought out. The entire heist is such an amazing story in the first book and it continues to be amazing in the sequel. The Plottwists are great and very well written. The interactions and dynamics between the Characters are very interesting because all of them are so different. And Kaz Brekker, Holy Shit this Guy is just a Masterpiece of a morally grey Character. No other morally grey male character that I read about can hold a candle to him. Xaden Riorson is a Joke in Comparison, I don’t feel sorry about that. He is smart, he is cruel and so complex. If he would live in our World he would take the Wall Street down and crash it total. Kaz Brekker is out of all morally grey protagonists on another level. This Man is out of this world. (I just noticed another interesting thing about him thanks to a Book YouTuber. Kaz’s real surname Rietveld means Rice Field. Does this mean he grew up on a Farm with Rice?) Leigh Bardugo is a real Genuis. This Doulogy is a Masterpiece.
I can Highly recommend this doulogy. I promise, you will not be disappointed you will be amazed. I really need to read this doulogy again it’s so freaking good.
Also the crows deserve a whole Movie dedicated to them, they deserve the world.
does anyone have Six of crows high school au fic recs
Oi can y’all help me pick a prompt for a Kaz fic

Just finished my crooked kingdom re-read and it’s so bittersweet. Words cannot express how much I love this duology and these characters, they’ll hold a special place in my heart forever. No mourners 🖤
Im willing to kill everyone I know and sell my soul to the devil for a hug from Jack Wolfe
...Nina and Matthias??

Nina and Matthias compliment each other always.
It's been a while since I've read six of crows and Crooked Kingdom so I apologise if anything is incorrect.
Six of Crows duology spoilers ahead <3
At the start/when they first meet:
Nina brings life. She heals, right? Matthias is a soldier (?) He hurts, he kills.
Where they end:
Nina is the one causing death with her altered powers, Matthias is the one trying to help. He no longer wants to kill the Grisha, he wants to help he wants it to stop.
They changed and grew together instead of apart.
As they changed as people instead of separating they learned to love these new versions of themselves and each other. They were always so different, but matched so well.
Netflix does not deserve Shadow & Bone back, I hope a company who will fully respect it and its fanbase will take it in and show Netflix what an abhorrently dumb decision they made.
Wylan problem solver van Eck after telling Jesper to wake up the sleeping people to kill them

"So we're all doing this for personal reasons, if we do anything to save humanity, don't ask us to do it again cause we promise that was not the intention we will 100% probably do this again when we get greedy"
Can we just appreciate Six of Crows for a moment?
Like, the characters each have their own elaborate backstories and reasons for wanting the money and the whole plot line is so well put together.
Also, it's just completely bonkers because one moment they're planning a heist and how to get back at Van Eck, and the next Kaz is making a "your mum" joke.
Nina, Kaz and Wylan are all siblings, Kaz is related by blood to both of them but Wylan and Nina are not related to each other by blood, that's the dynamic

She loves picking on him. I love her for it.
the crows as olympic athletes
kaz
hear me out — table tennis
he'd definitely be one of the more precise players
nicknamed "dirtyhands" for his use of unconventional techniques and trolling his opponents with snake shots and hidden spin
his role models include natalia partyka and ma long
like partyka, he competes in both the olympics and paralympics (classification 9)
inej
i think the obvious choice is artistic gymnastics; she'd be absolutely unbeatable in beam with her amazing balance
her fans have started calling her "the wraith", alluding to the way she twists through the air with unbelievable grace and strength
her biggest rival, dunyasha lazareva, is one of the only gymnasts who can match her in skill
jesper
skeet shooting
ithink the variability of the sport would definitely be something jesper prefers over something like air rifle/pistol
he's a star in the sport shooting world and made his olympic debut at 17 after switching sport from equestrian
(he met wylan at the riding club and the rest is history)
wylan
modern pentathlon
there was a brief scandal with his father and former pentathlete which put him in the public eye, but now he's famous only for his performance in the modern pentathlon
he first appeared at the youth olympic games where he claimed gold by a large margin
now at his first olympic games all eyes are on him as the favourite to win
nina
at tokyo 2020 she's just a random competitor in judo, unknown to most of the world — and then suddenly she shocks the entire world with a gold medal that almost looked easy
now everyone knows not to underestimate her, as she looks to defend her olympic title
matthias
i mean, he's made out of pure muscle, so is it really a surprise to see matthias in olympic wrestling?
he has made a name for himself as six feet and four inches of pure strength and power
he makes the team for the second time, up against competitors like jarl brum, three time olympic gold medallist
the crows' music taste headcanons
so this is the least thought out thing possibly ever...
kaz
alt-rock, avant-rock, and post-punk
radiohead, my chemical romance, the smiths
inej
musical theatre,
west side story, hamilton, the phantom of the opera
jesper
blues, jazz, electro, swing
frank sinatra, caravan palace, jamiroquai
nina
pop. what else is there to say
taylor swift, olivia rodrigo, sabrina carpenter, abba
wylan
classical and classical-inspired songs
laufey, mendelssohn, sibelius, brahms
matthias
hymns (and pop - nina has been rubbing off on him)
traditional hymns, abba, taylor swift
spoilers for crooked kingdom:
what do you mean mathias helvar died? he got married to nina, i literally went to their wedding
I looooove ignoring a character's death in the media I like, like what do you mean they're dead no they aren't they are alive and I'm having a cup of tea with them right now :] no I'm not in denial shut up shut up shutupshutupshut
Both of them singing off-key at the crow club during karaoke nights (let’s pretend they do that)
They would totally teach the HOT TO GO! dance to the rest of the crows.
Also Nina would absolutely ROCK Femininomenom! by vibes only.
Can’t stop thinking about how much Nina and Jesper would’ve LOVED Chappell Roan
there are also different religions in the different cultures on the grishaverse, and different religious and non religious characters interact with each other. None of the different religions feel less real than the others, some of them are more explored but all of them feel real.
I like that Six of Crows, Shadow and Bone, King of Scars, etc. Have religious characters in them. Because we get to see every facet of how it effects them as a person and how it affects the story. How deeply or not they believe. How much is pushing the religion on others and how some are not. I like seeing how much thought the author put into seeing their world as three dimensional with a great deal of thought and backstory to help us form a picture of the world.
