hi hiii this is my super awesome totally cool oc x canon!! the oc here is Finson, and i pair him with Garmadon!

This guy sprouted in my brain when i was reading Shatterspin and looking at survivalshipping screenshots, BEFORE i found out about survivalshipping. And my brain at the time was like, cheating isn't cool! Garmadon has a wife! (even though we haven't seen them interact in a while...) and poor Lloyd!
So i started imagining what Garmadon's life pre-Misako was like! Wu too, of course, but mainly Garmadon. These guys are canonically around thousands of years old, right? so they should atleast have some kind(s) of relationship(s) back then, right?
Down here shows the very beginning of it all...up to you if you'd like to read it, i really don't want to transcribe everything...ahah
Anyway, Finson is based on Vinny...hence the generic design. I imagine that somewhere deep in Garmadon's mind when he sees Vinny, he remembers Finson in some form! ..Though super vaguely. Like "hm, have i seen this guy somewhere?" but he doesn't really remember properly until, well, when i say he does. :]]
Finson lived by paddy fields, with his house hidden up on a hill among other houses within it's thick grove of trees. A small village!!! A special one, too. Why else would Garmadon ever have needed to visit it? eyh? eyhh??

Species Swap-ish AU
Basically in this AU, Garmadon got those recessive genes or smth. Kinda like canon Lloyd, who hasn't showcased any oni-dragon traits until crystalized, Garmadon doesn't have any major traits from those species. The great devourer still bites Garmadon but because he doesn't have the correct genes/dna(idk)like in canon, the 'evil' only manages to make him a little more violent when he's angry and turn his eyes red.
(Maybe the venom ends up helping him shift between his human AND oni form...but Garm doesn't know that yet. Hah, the Overlords plan backfires.)
Nothing more, and he can control the anger pretty well, so yay happy ending instead of being banished by Wu to the underworld for so and so years. As for Lloyd when he's born, THATS ANOTHER LEVEL. All those oni-dragon traits meant for Garmadon is instead passed down to Lloyd via heredity-hence the technically species swap of this AU between them.
His baby teeth are growing sharp, he has oni horns and a oni-dragon tail mix. His eyes also turn red like Garmadon's when he's angry. Lloyd will also be able to poof four arms and wings when he's older but for now HE'S A FERAL CHILD.
Poor normal-ish Garm has to wrangle a chaotic Lloyd around, stop him from accidentally destroying everything with his destruction powers and from fucking BITING people. Garmadon's one of the only people that can make his son calm because Lloyd loves his dad to pieces(and vice versa, lloyd means the world to garm)
Aka adventures of garmadad raising a chaotic dragon oni hybrid lloyd while simultaneously being the best father ever.
Lloyd: Setting stuff on fire with purple flames.
Garmadon, sleep deprived: Oh father, not again.
Wu: *waking up after being knocked out* where are we?
Garmadon: *sarcastically* heaven.
Wu: oh.
Wu: didn't think you'd be here.
Wu: I'm gonna do a back flip and commit seven wars crimes.
Garmadon:
Wu: no one can stop me!
Garmadon:
Wu: I'm invincible!
Garmadon: I definitely remember telling you to cut down on tea
Wu: war crimes!
Garmadon: Father, there's a monster under my bed and it's really ugly.

Honestly these are so accurate. I want to see videos now. Like I don't need episodes with bad guys and drama, I just want daily interactions and dodgeball games

of COURSE powers and spinjitzu are allowed. who do you think they are
except for cole. cole is not allowed to use his super strength to throw anything because it will put a hole through something or someone
that being said, tiny tiny earthquakes to throw someone off balance is not off the table
definitely targets jay
you already know kai and jay are competitive as fuck. both in the game and in screaming bloody murder the loudest
i think they would both use some elemental power to charge up the throw, like that short where they’re chopping bricks (i forgot the name lmao)
jay WHIPS the ball like no one else (cause lightning 😎) AND plus the lightning charge up?? bros out for blood
little bit of a sore loser but he forgets about it pretty quickly
kai is such a sore loser let’s be honest now
but if he wins he’s holding it above the others forever
i think he’s got shit aim lmao
in fights he’s so used to making a big ass blast of fire and shooting it in the general direction he doesn’t need to aim
that being said he definitely torches the dodgeballs midair
regardless of if they’re about to hit him or not
zane however has scarily accurate aim, being a nindroid and all
he always hits them on the shoulder
he’s not above freezing the floor and making them slip. you would think he is, but he’s not.

lloyd “it’s just a game guys, lets just have fun” garmadon and lloyd “i will hold a grudge against the person who got me out for the rest of my life” garmadon are ideas that could and absolutely do coexist
i think he’s a bad thrower. like he CAN throw, he’s just not as good as the rest of them
gets people out by catching the ball more than actually hitting them (he’s got practice with catching HANDS)
nya absolutely decimates them
goes easy on jay and is out for kai’s head
jay SAYS he was going easy on her, and in return she nails him in the stomach with a ball
jay is no longer going easy on her
she’s just as much of a sore loser as kai is
wu and garmadon would play something like dodgeball when they were younger
it mostly involved chucking whatever they could find at each other at random times
garmadon called it training. wu called it being childish and petty
catch him throwing cans straight at garmadons head just to hear the hollow “tonk” sound (if they had cans back then lmao)
so there’s really no way to declare a winner
garmadon says he won though
if morro was alive and/or with the ninja he is here to WIN. nothing less.
if he’s still a ghost then he couldn’t really participate
he’s kinda salty about it cause he knows he would absolutely destroy them

i like to think he’s agile and fast as hell cause wind and everything
contrary to popular belief he doesn’t use the wind to block anything thrown at him
the point of dodgeball is to dodge. if he gets hit, then it’s his failure and incompetence
THROWING with the wind however,, he’s only playing to his strengths, that’s all
he and lloyd definitely target each other. whoever wins, it’s a matter of pride on both sides
Thats fair, I was thinking about season 16 garmadon, that wants to be good and happy. Like coming to the realization that you killed your mom would be so horrible. Not to mention the countless others he's killed. The guilt he would go through later would be so bad
So related to @legogeek33 's Oni theory about the types of Oni (Vengeance, Hatred, Deception) and the circulating theory that Mistaké is Garm and Wu's mom
The Oni form markings
The way the markings on their foreheads connect to the eyebrows and swirl in the same directions...
At first I thought they were generic Oni markings, but the only Oni-related thing that has that same swirl is the Mask of Deception
