my brain, who is a fucking asshole who i can no longer stand: he was forced to take time off Samwell because he can’t afford it and was too proud to tell the boys because he wouldn’t want to take their charity, even if they offered it. (Nursey would definitely offer it).

my brain: maybe he got injured on the lobster boat so he lost his hockey scholarship.

me: but also, IMAGINE if he lied about it –like he said that his dad was… sick? so the boys would be concerned but also understanding and not bother him about it. THEN nursey and chowder decide to drive up and visit and his dad answers the door (seems to be in perfect health which is confusing) and tells them that Dex is at work– but not on the lobster boat cause “well, his fuckin’ leg won’t really let him do that, y’know” and that doesn’t make sense either but Nursey and Chowder head on over to the hardware store where Dex is working the cash register, looking utterly miserable and sitting with one leg propped up cuz it’s broken– and oh! i bet this is also the first time they’ve seen dex’s house so that is a bit of a shock and I think we could probably work in–
Don’t think about Dex with a full sleeve of tattoos.
Don’t think about a decent portion of Dex’s sleeve being representations of people who mean the most to him.
Absolutely don’t think about what tattoos he’s added for each member of the team.
A day in Nursey's life

can we just like….talk about dexter jettster? how qui gon passed this amazing giant four-armed lizard man’s friendship to obi wan and they just talk about everything together and how they probably have this secret code language or something for all the shady things going down in the republic? how they have casual lunches in this greasy diner with cups of steaming caff? how they sit and chat on rooftops through clouds of smoke from dex’s cheroots? and how dex’s seen it all- he knows obi wan, probably as well as some of the masters in the temple do- and how he knows anakin too and even ahsoka and how he probably saw the first billows of smoke roll up from the jedi temple that night?

The more books that are added to the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, the more Dex and Tiergan’s roles diminish, and that makes me sad.
