Getting this feeling when I specifically have to write about the other Houses uuuugh
Try to recognize patterns in your writing and brace yourself for the lowest points.
You can’t be “on” and inspired all the time so there will be points in your WIP that are less-than-exciting to write. You won’t want to do it. You’ll feel depressed and gloomy and doubt yourself.
It’s okay to feel that way. It doesn’t mean you’re a sham. It doesn’t mean the story has lost its edge and you need to trash it (*slaps your hand away from the delete key*)
Chances are, this is a normal pattern for you. Eventually, there will come a segment in your WIP that makes you dread working on it. Happens in practically every story, right?
For me, I hit the doldrums at 30k like clockwork. Every time. It becomes slow, laborious, and awful.
But don’t let it stop you. Keep trucking through it and reassess when you can be a bit more objective later on after you’ve had a break.
By bracing yourself for the lowest points, it takes the emotional component down a notch and you can ground yourself in the realization that this is normal and it will pass.

Sure, having a king/queen is simple, but have you ever tried:
Democracy
Multiple nobles and they all have the same amount of power (lot of conflict potential)
You can become ruler by defeating the current ruler in a fight
The merchants run everything
A noble and a parliament rule
The most intelligent people rule
…
There are thousands of possibilities, be creative!

My wip HoD (It's the title's acronym) is a Grim-dark High Fantasy adventure novel with a pinch of battle royale to it. Here are 3 facts about it
1) One of the MC's is infected with parasites
2) A group of 5 strangers come together for selfish desires
3) Main, supporting and side characters aren't afraid to play dirty. It's every group for themselves in this world.
