I saw a post saying that Boromir looked too scruffy in FotR for a Captain of Gondor, and I tried to move on, but I’m hyperfixating. Has anyone ever solo backpacked? I have. By the end, not only did I look like shit, but by day two I was talking to myself. On another occasion I did fourteen days’ backcountry as the lone woman in a group of twelve men, no showers, no deodorant, and brother, by the end of that we were all EXTREMELY feral. You think we looked like heirs to the throne of anywhere? We were thirteen wolverines in ripstop.
My boy Boromir? Spent FOUR MONTHS in the wilderness! Alone! No roads! High floods! His horse died! I’m amazed he showed up to Imladris wearing clothes, let alone with a decent haircut. I’m fully convinced that he left Gondor looking like Richard Sharpe being presented to the Prince Regent in 1813
*electric guitar riff*
And then rocked up to Imladris a hundred ten days later like

Super rough Fellowship ! I’ve been doodling members inbetween things for the past few weeks and I finally decided to put them all together. Maybe I’ll try to render it correctly at one point, but for now I’ll leave this here as is.

This one was a beast, but man it was fun.
Once again, the poetry is from my super cool friend, Meg. Who also wrote the poem for this set of drawings. Though, if you asked her, she'd just tell you that she only rhymed what Tolkien wrote in the House of Healing chapter. Regardless, scream some love in the comments for her!

oh no now i have to make you talk about frogs somehow related to lotr... oh no... (faramir has a pet frog. it was a gift from pippin)

it’s named pippin 2
when pippin says the reason he named his son faramir is bc faramir named his first child after him, never telling anyone about how it was a frog
when pippin 2 is in a croaking mood faramir will sit him in front of him and listen intently (it’s a really calming sound and our boy is rebuilding a kingdom he’s going to have stress)
but that also leads to people walking into his office while he stares intently at a frog sometimes nodding
hence the local rumour that faramir can understand frogs
eowyn definitely didn’t start that rumour
I feel like Edge of Night was written by Bilbo, it's just make so much sense. He's definitely the hobbit who has songs for great halls and evil times.

Probably one of my favorite random things about LotR is the fact that
a) Pippin did a Gollum impression in the books
b) Pippin had never MET Gollum before that point and never would
c) yet it was an ACCURATE impression, as it startled and was recognized by the orc he was speaking to
d) the only possible explanation for Pippin Took’s accurate Gollum impression is this: Bilbo, while telling stories to the eager children, must have imitated Gollum perfectly
concerning hobbits? yeah i guess they are pretty concerning
