Americans, vote like your life depends on it because if this bill passes it literally will. They’re straight up trying to make it legal to arrest people for existing as LGBT.
Americans, these are things we are NOT saying in 2024:
"Voting blue won't solve anything." Yes it will: if enough of us do it, it will solve a problem called Trump's second term in the White House. We unfortunately live in a two-party system. If you refuse to vote, you're effectively voting for Trump. I shouldn't need to explain this to people, yet here we are.
"It doesn't matter who's president. Both candidates are the same anyway." No, they are REALLY not. Biden was never my first choice, and his shipments of arms to Israel are despicable, but don't try to tell me even for a second that a second Trump term would be the same for the world as a second Biden term.
"But voting blue won't fix [fundamental underlying problem in America]." Voting for Democrats cannot fix every issue, this is true. But by saying this and ONLY this you are discouraging people from voting by making them feel hopeless. Voting is one of many tools in our arsenal, not the only tool, but an important one, and it does matter.
"You shouldn't vote blue, you should do [other thing] instead." See above: you can vote and protest and organize at the same time. It's not either/or. You can do it all. Stop discouraging voters from exercising their rights under the guise of leftism.
"Voting is just legitimizing government power. It makes you part of the system." Literally just shut up. Women and people of color didn't fight for their voting rights to have you say things like this. If you live in America and you can legally vote, then you should fucking vote, and vote blue. There is no neutral option.
"Voting blue just makes you complicit in [this bad policy]." Inaction, and allowing Trump to have a second term, is worse for the entire world than any Democrat policy. Yes, even that one. Voting is not about finding a perfect unproblematic candidate. It is about choosing the lesser of two evils.
"Voting doesn't work because—" STOP IT. STOP DISCOURAGING PEOPLE FROM VOTING.
You know who wants you NOT to vote? Trump supporters, that's who. You should be suspicious of ANYONE who is suggesting that your vote doesn't matter, or that both candidates are the same, or that Biden's policy on XYZ means you shouldn't vote for him. Trump supporters aren't trying to get your vote by saying, "Vote for Trump!" They're trying to get your vote by DISCOURAGING YOU FROM VOTING AT ALL.
I don't like Biden either, but Trump is unequivocally worse. Voting doesn't fix everything, but it is the minimum fucking requirement of living in a democracy. Voting for president has real, tangible, immediate impacts on people's lives, and choosing not to vote is not the rebellion you think it is, it is just relinquishing your voice. So fucking vote. THIS IS A GROUP PROJECT AND DAMN IT WE ARE NOT FAILING BECAUSE OF YOU.
This exactly. It's not a valentine. You don't have to like the person you're voting for! The only thing that's important is that they are the less evil of the options. Please, for everyone's sake, DO NOT ABSTAIN FROM VOTING!!!!! Think of not voting is essentially the same as voting for the worst option available!!

Some of you on this app can get the idea out of your head that if you don't vote at all you're taking a stand against the voting system.
Here's a reality check:
It doesn't work that way.
Believe me when I say that I wish it would work the way some of you think it does, but the fact of the matter is that it doesn't. We have a two party system. Pick a candidate from our two main parties and vote for them.
Voting 3rd party won't do anything but waste your vote.
I know that it sucks, but that is the truth. You don't have to like it, I certainly don't. Unfortunately, it's the way this whole thing is set up.
Please, vote. Even if you don't want to. Even if you think it's pointless. Even if you hate both candidates to your core. Vote.
It is the one way you get even a fraction of a say in our government. Don't give up your say because if you do you are complacent in not having a say about what comes next.
And, honestly, if you're that complacent, you have no right to complain about the shit show that is America, now and in the future. Not if you have the opportunity to vote and don't.
Vote.
No buts. No 'all evil candidates.' No excuses. No bullshit. You either give a shit about what's happening to you in the United States or you fucking don't. No pleasantries, no argument to hide behind, this is it. Been seeing a lot of Propaganda cropping up again in my feed and I am 10,000% not here for it. I have officially hit my absolute limit for complete and utter nonsense spouted by right-wing bots and plants as some psyop to get the chronically online to not vote.
Bite your lip. Hold your nose. Hell, complain the whole time if you want. But fucking vote. If you care, you fucking vote. That's it.

Because you didn't show up and his side goes down. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and he doesn't show up, but you won't know that until you show up too. SO YOU HAVE TO VOTE. You HAVE to ATLEAST nullify this asshole, and spread the word, because EVENTUALLY they run out of Racist McGee's and your side goes down no matter what, even if you aren't the tipping point.
But you have to remember, Racist McGee wins every time you don't vote.
And NO, I am NOT saying this because they are two old men. I am saying it because one of the old men has no business being given any serious attention or platform anywhere ever again. (If you think I am referring to Joe Biden, go fuck yourself with your false equivalences.)

Given the extreme stakes of Project 2025 I need everyone to vote Democrat downballot. Everyone. Bring your friends to the ballot box, make a day of it. Have voting parties. Anything to get people energized.
I am dead serious though. If you know or love an lgbtq+ person, or if you care about continuing to have a choice or ability to push for change in this country, you need to vote Democrat downballot. The leftmost candidates must win as many races as possible. We have to completely smash the Republicans at the ballot box to get a chance at establishing ranked choice, to get abortion rights back, to keep Trump from getting more Justices, to secure the right to protest, and to protect and improve democracy.
The only way to move the overton window left where we want it is to keep voting left, persistently, consistently, doggedly.
Please vote. I know you’re depressed about it. I am too, but we have to vote.

Let's try to make this as clear as possible for hopefully the final time. The ONLY viable option who can beat Trump this November is JOE BIDEN! Not kamala Harris, not gretchen Whitmer, not Pete buttigieg, not Gavin Newsom. But Joe biden.
Harris can't beat Trump, she just can't, she's less popular than biden amongst moderates and her own party. Whitmer, Newsom, buttigeig or anyone else are not known enough to win over moderates this close to the election. So please just stop the "biden needs to step done" talk and accept that he may not be perfect but right now he is our only option. Yes yes, I too am very sad and annoyed that Trump is not dead, I got all breathlessly excited and queued up "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" to be ready for a great announcement, and then I didn't even get to play it. It's a huge bummer.
