Chapter two is officially up!!!

SNEEK PEEK:

Chimney isn’t sure if he wants to live or die though, that’s the sad part. If he dies he dies, maybe then he would get to see Kevin and his mom again. It has been so long since he last saw her that her voice has faded and her face is only present from the photographs he has saved from all those years ago. If he lived though, he would have months of therapy and pain to work through, but he would have the support of the 118 and every other fire station in LA by his side which is a comforting thought. But he just wouldn’t have that special someone waiting for him.

So as his eyes grow heavy, and Bobby’s pleas for him to stay awake grow quieter with each passing second, Chimney can’t help but let his last thought be that he wasn’t meant to meet anyone.

That special person doesn’t exist for him.

I feel kinda evil for doing this, but here’s a small SNEEK PEEK into my next chapter for The Start of Something Good. I’m finishing up the final scene for chapter 3, with Maddie and Chimney, and then once I edit it I’ll be posting it. So it should be out either later today if I get really inspired or early Tuesday. Enjoy! 😈

Darkness.

He hates that everything he sees now is dark and he doesn't know why.

Chimney has been here before he knows that, and he thinks that it may have been right before he suddenly just appeared in that woman’s bathroom. In Maddie’s bathroom. It was as if one moment he was engulfed in nothing but black that stretched for miles, and the next he was blinking his eyes so they could adjust to the ceiling light. But now he’s back in this dark and lonely space, and he can’t tell where he is or if here is even a place. Chimney doesn’t know how long has passed either. He doesn’t think time passes here anyway.

But then, unlike the first time he was here, a bright light appears before him, the colors close enough to be compared to a sunset shining across his features. Chimney can’t put it into words, but the closest he would be able to say about the light is that it’s beautiful...he hasn’t seen anything like it. Not only that though, the feeling of peace and pure love like nothing he’s ever felt before, not even for his own mother, is invading his very system.

He still doesn’t want to admit that he’s dead, but isn’t this what Maddie had meant by seeing a light? It has to be, because she said crossing over would bring peace and that’s exactly what he feels.

That love is so tempting, and Chimney takes a few steps towards it. It has been so long since he felt that feeling solely directed at him, and he can feel no negativity as he continues to walk forward. He isn’t being judged, or mocked, or feeling like he failed...no, he feels cherished in this very moment. Like anything wrong he may have done, no matter how awful, it didn’t matter. Everything is okay, and this light is meant for everyone after death. Maybe going into the light wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

The absolute shock that appeared on the teams faces when Bobby admits to have competed in figure skating is PRICELESS!

Honestly Maddie and Chim have used the word “joy/joyous” so many times in their time together that I want my money back if that’s not their child’s first or middle name

I’m screaming at how many mistakes I made at attempting to draw Chimney—so let’s ignore the awful boots, the fact I messed up on coloring the helmet (there’s supposed to be another yellow stripe, which I did have but accidentally colored black 🤦🏻‍♀️), and the fact I didn’t have a skin color that was spot on. Besides that it’s fine for my first attempt at drawing Chimney fully. I’m too scared now to draw Maddie, oh boy.

It also took me 15 different markers to color in. Sometimes I can’t believe how many markers I actually use in one drawing.

Okay, I am so happy right now because my bad things happen bingo card finally came in which means so much 9-1-1 content is about to be poured out here. I’ll post it later if anyone wants to submit a prompt or something. I just want to post my third chapter of my GW au first which I know I promised earlier last week and oops I—😬

Okay, here is my bingo card for anyone who wants to submit a prompt. I’m always open for any prompt outside the bingo card as well, just keep in mind I don’t write smut, sorry! I was going to wait to post this until I had chapter 3 posted to my GW au 9-1-1 story, but I’ve been a bit preoccupied with writing another Madney au of my favorite book series, The Darkest Minds. I am finishing up chapter 3 though soon. I’ve also been really busy lately, so just know it may take a bit for me to publish any stories people request, but I will try hard to get them out as soon as possible!

Okay guys, I don’t mean to suddenly turn this into a tv thing, but can we all just take a moment to remember the crow that was stalking Chimney and driving him to insanity, just for the smart ass bird to return his pin and dip...

Okay but, I would feel awful if Maddie actually ended up with Eddie, knowing what we know now. I wouldn’t understand it...like Chimney was just perfect and I’m glad Jennifer was like wait a minute. I know we wouldn’t have thought twice about it if that’s the route they did go down, and I love JLH so of course I’d still be watching 9-1-1, but can you also imagine all the people who still shipped Buck and Eddie really coming after her.

idk if the whole “eddie was supposed to be maddie’s love interest” thing is true or not but either way I am so glad that Maddie ended up with Chimney instead because madney is TRULY an excellent ship. Chimney is so soft and supportive and GOOD and it’s exactly what Maddie deserves. 

I’m cryingggggg...the moment we’ve been waiting for since we found out they are going to be parents!!!

Okay I would like to blame you @maddieandchimney for officially distracting me from writing what I should be writing, because now I’m writing a child AU for Maddie after reading all of your amazing stories and an idea popping into my head late last night! Someone please turn my brain off!!! 😭❤️

Y’all, I’m either very blind or oblivious because I didn’t realize us Madney fans were being called annoying. I was so confused, I mean I know not everyone is going to like the same ships or characters, but dang, to start attacking people or sending disheartening messages and such is not okay. I cannot stress that enough.

But people really think we are the annoying ones? Nope, not in the slightest.

When are people going to finally open thier eyes and see it’s okay for people to like who they want, and it’s okay that others may hate that character? Why can’t people just appreciate that everyone has a ship or character they like and stop the drama and attacking? I really can’t fathom why fans in a fandom work against each other.

Yes I’m saying this from a Madney point of view because that is my favorite ship, and yes Maddie is my favorite character; it was just going to be a given. Jennifer is the whole reason I started watching the show, because I watched Ghost Whisperer first back in 2020 and then wanted to watch something else with her in it. Just because I love Madney though doesn’t mean I don’t like other ships and characters. I’m not gonna lie I’m 50/50 on Buddie, like I wouldn’t be mad if they got together in the show but I’m also not going to be mad if they don’t. I really don’t mind Buddie, and I even include the ship occasionally in the stories I’ve been writing for Madney; I’m not shoving any other ships aside—same with Bobby/Athena and Hen/Karen.

But I do have to say some Buddie fans out their are hella crazy. I’m sorry, but you guys really need to stop and just take a moment to revaluate. I’m obviously not naming names, I would never do that, but I literally saw a comment under a Buddie story, the writer hating Ana, and the commenter hating Ana saying they hope she gets punched in the face because she deserved it—probably from whatever happened in the story, that was written out of character. Like, what? Y’all are really that extreme? Ana never did anything on the show but ruin the fact Buck couldn’t get with Eddie. That’s really how I see it. But that is how tv works. Sometimes your ships work out, sometimes they don’t, and sometimes it takes seasons of building up a relationship and the characters being with other people before you can finally see them together. (For anyone who watches NCIS: LA, think of Kensi and Deeks, who weren’t official until season 6 but you could see the sparks fly in the 3rd season? I think, Idk if it was 2 or 3. One of them.)

I’m not saying you guys should stop shipping, I would never. I am personally glad that everyone has a ship they like, even if it isn’t canon yet.

If you like any mismatch of characters with any other character, either in 9-1-1 or not, good 👏🏼 for 👏🏼 you.

(I believe these are the main ones I’ve seen, I’m definitely missing some, but you guys get the point.)

There are a few ships on this list which I could never see in a million years, but, does that mean I don’t support you liking that ship? Hell no! I like my ship and I scream it, but I’m also sitting at the sidelines screaming for all of you as well, because I’m happy everyone has found a pairing they enjoy.

So please stop going after people who either don’t like your ship or the characters you like. I know it can get agitating and annoying because you just want to see your ship on the screen, and I hate to say for some it won’t happen, and that’s why we have fanfic in the first place, but please don’t attack anyone. It may be especially upsetting to some fans that maybe just don’t like Madney, and that’s okay, that us fans have our ship on screen and you don’t, and I’m sorry for that. If I could give everyone their ship on screen I would, in a heartbeat.

At the end of the day guys we may not have the same like in characters or ships, but we all love the show they put together. Isn’t that enough, that we get to have this amazing show in the first place?

I’m sorry for the long rant, but I just wanted to get my opinion out because there have been certain things bugging me since I got into the fandom and started seeing/hearing things.

I also just want to address really quick there is a difference in asking and attacking. It’s okay to genuinely be curious and ask someone nicely why they don’t like your ship or certain ships/characters, and I think most of us would be happy to have a civil conversation about why. It’s another thing to go on the defense and be rude and start name calling. Not okay, very disrespectful, and it shows who you are as a person.

Welcome to Chimney Positivity Weekend on the 25th - 27th Feb 2022

Let’s celebrate who Chimney actually is, away from the bashing and the anti-Chimney discourse that is prominent at the moment. This is a weekend to celebrate everything he is, everything that the past five seasons has given us, by way of making the Chimney tag on here and A03 a safe place for those who love him, again. 

The below prompts cover all creations, from fic writing to gif making, to edits and videos, anything that inspires you. Chimney does not have to be the focal point in stories, as I understand we all have our characters that we want to focus on or that we are comfortable focusing on, but rather just a reflection of who he is as a character and what he means to the other characters. So, basically anything and everything that spreads joy and positivity about Chimney. Nothing is off limits; crack ships, whump, angst, whatever brings you joy as a creator and whatever inspires you.

Day Three: Something you wish we had seen more or can see more of in the future (a storyline, a rescue, a friendship etc)
