SUMMARY: Maddie can see and speak to the living, but the dead as well. She helps lost souls move on, but it's been a couple years since she's helped anyone due to her abusive husband. But when a man appears not knowing what is going on, Maddie can't explain why he can't see the light to cross over. But maybe it's not her that's meant to help him move on. Maybe it's the other way around...
SNEEK PEEK:
"What is your name?"
"Howard Han, but uh, just call me Howie."
"Well, Howie I'm Maddie, and I'm very sorry to tell you this but...you're dead."
And in those two simple words, his whole world seemed to crumble. Chimney stumbled back as if he himself had just been slapped, shaking his head back and forth. "No, no that's not possible. I feel fine. If I were dead I wouldn't be here talking to you. I'd be...I'd be…" Well actually he doesn't know where he would be, but his guess is a hospital. The only thing he can remember is the accident and his situation being not a good one, so how the hell had he ended up in this woman's bathroom?

Ok y’all I’m cryingggggggggg right now, because my brain didn’t PROCESS that Maddie even said I love you to Chimney. I’m not even joking. I now have to go back and rewatch that scene. How the hell did my brain do that to me?!?!?!?!?
Something I really love about the “i love you” scene with Madney is how much they didn’t make a big deal about it? We see Chim’s face as he processes what she says to him, and then when she says it again, but he doesn’t stop their conversation to go, “Oh my goodness, you thought you couldn’t say it again because of the trauma, you said you love me for the first time.”
The conversation just…continued, with both of them understanding that she had said it for the first time and Chim being happy but not taking out time to focus on her trauma or this big step, and even being a little jokey with her later when she says she loves him and he says “ditto.” And I just really love that so much; the show doesn’t point out the obvious and trusts us to remember this about them and doesn’t stop this big moment in its track to have Chim potentially retrigger her or bring attention to this step for Maddie. She’s just healing one step at a time and reclaiming things in her life and we get to be a part of that without having the show constantly bring up that she was traumatized and it’s just??? So very nice to see and a great portrayal of having a survivor onscreen in a way I haven’t seen in other shows before.
OMG my heartttt the entireeee episodeee!!! And then I was literally just telling @maddieandchimney that we need to see Maddie and Athena back in action...and then we get to see them sit down and talk in this episode!!!!!! We actually got it! I loved it so much too, but we really need more scenes with them!! 😭❤️
Y’all it’s really 4:27 am, I have 3 classes tomorrow (today), and I swear I’m just sitting here having a mental breakdown over how much I love madney. Like, is that healthy?? 🤔

Chimney isn’t sure if he wants to live or die though, that’s the sad part. If he dies he dies, maybe then he would get to see Kevin and his mom again. It has been so long since he last saw her that her voice has faded and her face is only present from the photographs he has saved from all those years ago. If he lived though, he would have months of therapy and pain to work through, but he would have the support of the 118 and every other fire station in LA by his side which is a comforting thought. But he just wouldn’t have that special someone waiting for him.
So as his eyes grow heavy, and Bobby’s pleas for him to stay awake grow quieter with each passing second, Chimney can’t help but let his last thought be that he wasn’t meant to meet anyone.
That special person doesn’t exist for him.
Okay so me and my mom were joking a few weekends ago before I left for college again, and she made a joke about holding an intervention for me after I told her I didn’t have a tv/ fanfiction problem. I just received my 9-1-1 pop socket in the mail. Yes, I made a pop socket.
I think I need that intervention.

Tim saying in the interview pertaining to Chim about how many times a person can cheat death makes me worried for chim, but also like Tim Chim can cheat death for the rest of his life if you choose to write it like that 🙃🙂 let’s not pretend his life isn’t in your hands sir and that you can make him cheat death every day
Also apparently they said that someone is dying this season and I think it’s Michael with the way they kept talking about his head that episode with David and Bobby snooping and if he is the one who gets hurts in the pile up it would lead to a brain scan out of protocol and them seeing the cancer is back
That interview was pre season four so I’m not too worried!!
