Reject the idea of the "Nerd Girl" stuttering every 2 seconds and getting nervous around 'bad boys'.

Normalize her having mostly male friends not bc "Girls are too much drama" but bc of the notion that girls can't be smart/nerdy.

Normalize her being into Sci-fi almost, if not just as much as the boys.

Normalize her giving out cringy but lighthearted nerdy and "intellectual" comebacks.

Normalize her being in the same technology/science classes and getting the highest GPA like the other nerds.

Normalize her being massively successful and rich in the future from her innovations.

Normalize her ACTUALLY being Smart.

Whilst seeking a job, your application gets incorrectly filed and you accidentally get accepted as the Chief of the CIA. Now, you’re covered by so many security levels that no-one has any idea how under-qualified you are.

shout out to the ladies in the back: expressing femininity doesn’t lower your intelligence. looks don’t define intelligence. you can feel feminine and feel smart and powerful. your femininity (or lack thereof) does not define your intelligence or worth of character.

Develop Your Financial IQ

Develop Your Financial IQ

Everyone wants to make more money, but people are generally divided into two categories: those who achieve results after they promise wealth first, or those who achieve results first, and then others reward them afterwards.

Within this ebook, we will explore the two groups in depth. Those who only move their heads after being promised large salary checks, look like staff, noob or mercenaries.

There's no right or wrong with this kind of thinking but keep in mind: you again, trade your precious time for money. Instead of investing your time in assets that generate money, you spend your time working on something short-term and limited in wealth, and it doesn't give you income long after you quit. For those who want to download a book, 👉 👉 👉 please click here

motivating myself to write my paper about fungi by talking about fungi:

in Tokyo in 2010, scientists wanted to test the limits of 'brainless' organisms, especially their decision making skills, so they made a little obstacle course in a Petri dish and sent a slime mold to navigate it. they set it up with light and oats, the oats acting as goals and the lights acting as deterrents. the oats were placed in such a way that represented the major train stations in Tokyo. in LESS THAN TWO DAYS, the slime mold had perfectly navigated the obstacle course and hit all the oat stations. when the scientists compared the Petri dish patterns to the city, they noticed that the slime mold had perfectly replicated the train lines of Tokyo. in the most efficient way possible. a task which took humans FIVE YEARS to plan, design and build. slime molds do not have nervous systems, brains, or (as it was previously believed) the ability to form complex thoughts. however, these molds were able to design this system quicker and more efficiently than humans ver have. they were even able to create a path for the shortest route through an IKEA.

the whole concept that organisms other than humans are unable to make decisions or solve complex problems is incredibly outdated and should have been disproven years ago when the Great Chain of Being was first challenged, but these ideas have stuck around for hundreds of years and are only now beginning to be opposed. for years, people thought that organisms like octopi could be tested on in labs because they were unable to feel pain or form thoughts, but only now is it being discovered that octopi have huge brains and are capable of numerous skills, they can recognize people and miss them, and they have the same or even better understanding of the world around them than humans. every other organisms' intelligence has been measured against humans for so long, that the idea that other creatures may have a different way of processing information is something completely unheard of.

in conclusion: brainless fungi and molds are redefining what humans believe to be 'intelligence' by exhibiting amazing navigation of obstacle courses, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Love this so much 💕🔮

🌬 mercury in 12th house 🌬

🌬 understanding of deep and disturbing topics. No subject is off limits.

🌬 easily vindictive and won’t forget things easily although prefers to choose compassion

🌬 can easily contact the ‘other side’ and esoteric topics are easily understood

🌬 May feel clairvoyant and ‘hear’ words from spirits

🌬 spirits may easily contact you and feel comfortable communicating with you

🌬 in tune with their psychic side

🌬 unassuming

🌬 creative but have severe difficulty expressing their creative endeavours

🌬 logical and cold hard facts may take time to settle in to these native’s minds. Subsequently, giving the impression of stupidity from the eyes of the world around them. However, deep down mercury in 12H people are deeply intelligent and broad-minded. 🌬🌬🌬remember that intelligence is not determined by academic results. My English teacher used to say ‘emotional intelligence is the highest form of success’ ;)

I desire someone who I could talk about 1984 or Fahrenheit 451 with late into the night. Truly discuss, debate, exchange ideas and thoughts with. For the exercise of one's mind is the sexiest thing of all.

Okay so I don't know if anyone really needs or even wants to hear this but I thought I'd put my realization out into the world. So school and learning is fucking hard in a normal year and even harder now and that can be really disheartening. I am currently in my first year of college and I was definitely one of the "smart kids" in highschool. And while in high school I picked up this nasty little habit of every time I did something wrong be it a minor mistake like putting a negative where there's not supposed to be one or something more conceptual I would always say immediately afterwards "wow I'm so stupid." And it wasn't true but I really believed it. I thought I wasn't able to make any mistake.

It wasn't until I said that in front of a teacher after they explained a college level consepts to me again that I really had someone look me in the eyes and say "you're not stupid your learning" and ya it's kinda obvious but it never hit me till then.

So end of the vent here's some advice. That teacher corrected me every time I said that until eventually I started saying that was a stupid mistake rather than I'm so stupid. And now you're going to beat the thing that seems really stupid but it works for me anytime I make a mistake and I want to call myself for the things stupid I never play stupid with silly. It certainly gets me some looks in my chemistry class college when I say it but it makes the mistake fun and non-consequential if it's silly. And man has it improved my ability to learn.

The best way to learn, to really learn is to forgive yourself for your mistakes.

So call your mistake silly and then laugh about it and move on. What's a silly little mistake to the rest of your life?

Hope this helps anyone that reads it.

Writing tip #1

As a reader, one of my biggest pet peeves is seeing a character introduced as "clever", their intelligence treated as some sort of super power that helped them out of impossible situations off-screen or even worse, they solved basic elementary problems that I remember getting as homework in middle school and everybody is in awe of such a wondrous mind. As a reader, few things irk me more than that kind of characterization.

But as writer, I get it! I understand the appeal of writing smart character, they can be so cool and challenge our traditional perception of strength and pose interesting questions etc... and as I'm not that bright myself either, I end up with the sensation of struggling to write a character much smarter than myself.

But that's okay! Luckily for me, I study developmental and cognitive psychology, which gives me tools to help me write smart characters without having the same skillset, so I thought I would share!

#1: research cognitive psychology, because there is so much more to say than what I know and can fit in a tumblr post, so go look it up- I promise it's worth it.

#2: your IQ number is practically a myth. Unless it helps diagnose and measure a global intellectual deficiency, that number alone is generally worthless as it's nothing but the average between scores of wildly different abilities which belong to the traditional model of intelligence (around which there is no consensus today, so keep in mind that it's incomplete at best.) From that it follows that it's a terrible way to describe a character, as it doesn't refer to any specific skill -and while there is partial correlation between these scores, I can guarantee you nobody is exactly as good in calculus as they are in English as they are in geometry etc. Describe what the character is smart in, what "kind" or smart they are if you wish; the separation between book smart, street smart and people smart is a good start, but still not enough: there are many flavours of booksmart alone, nevermind the others. Again, look it up: an easy background to use is the Wikipedia page for "Theory of Multiple Intelligences". I promise it will help!

#3. Sometimes less is more. Your character doesn't have to be the best student in the country or win every prize. Did you know that Einstein was considered a bad student? Or that the incredible mathematician Euler got second place in the 1727 Paris Academy Science Competition? It's fine for your character to be second place, it's fine not to win every time, even in their own domain of expertise. If you tell me someone got the bronze medal at the Olympics, I'm still gonna assume them a better athlete than the vaste majority of people, and few would disagree with that idea; it's the same with intelligence. Your character should be allowed to fail, and simply to not always be the best -if not because it makes them more humane, because we love to project on smart characters, it strokes our ego. Think of all the stressed out straight A students on the verge of burn-out projecting on your characters: let them know it's okay! A- is still very good! You're doing great!

Anyway I'll probably make more posts about this because there's so much to say but it's probably too long already so I'll stop here. You know how it works, this is just my opinion, I'm not the authority on writing, but I thought it could be helpful so if it doesn't work for you, don't follow this advice! Let me know what you think, and please be kind
