I also like how Dabi thought everything stayed the same since he was sixteen. Shouto is still just Enji’s pet project with no will of his own, Enji is still a raging maniac only caring about his success, the rest of the fam is just putting up with this. Meanwhile Enji had a whole change of character, he and Shouto went through a renegotiation of their roles in their relationship, Shouto stood up for himself by refusing to communicate with Enji until he was respected, Shouto trained and developed his own moves (unlike Touya who just copied Enji’s). Shouto has his own life and goals that have little to do with Enji. Rei got out of the hospital and was able to motivate her husband and son to fight Touya. Natsuo recognized Touya’s past suffering, he’s no longer that annoyed kid who just wants to sleep. Fuyumi was never “just a girl who doesn’t understand.” For all his spying on his family, Touya saw only what he wanted to see. He has no idea who any of them are.
