Too Many Story Ideas
So, I know I need to post on here more, but I need to talk about some stuff.
What do you do when you have too many story ideas in your brain, but can't keep one long term? Because I started writing my Bianca di Angelo Lives AU again, but I’m also working on a screenplay and now another story idea is developing for a book trilogy.
My current plan is to just work on the fanfic on the side when I have time with my main project being the screenplay because that has the end goal of being a film by 2025 for school. But this book trilogy I know I can’t start writing it because it will just take over, but I want to at least outline it and develop the characters.
And on top of that there’s a one-shot I want to write in The Dragon Prince because I can’t get the idea out of my head and I want to write it, but it’s a one-shot so there's not the worry of not finishing it.
It’s like I always have a story to tell, but I just keep getting new ideas that I want to work on. Should I just write all the ideas down as ideas in some notebooks to look at another time when I get more ideas for stories? Because maybe I’ll want to write them later in life when I’m not working on something else.
This isn’t something that is only happening now, it’s been happening for years. I have stories I started writing in notebooks but abandoned because I wasn’t interested anymore. I just want a way to work with the creative flow and actually finish stuff before starting other projects.
Does anyone have any advice?
write a fake article
hey guys, so I’m making a movie and in one of the scenes there’s a fake newspaper. I have one article and need a few more. This movie isn’t making any money, it’s a volunteer project already, but I was hoping I could get some help filling up the paper.
Some notes about the world: this world has elves and other magical beings, but magic disappeared during the Industrial Revolution. It looks a lot like our world, but more eco-aware and more accepting.
basically, any kind of articles are welcome. They won’t be onscreen very long, I just thought I’d leave this here to see if anyone wants to write one. If you want to write one, drop a comment and DM me the article
HEY YOU WITH THE FACE!
a withered rose
A withered rose that my mother picked from the front yard.
It was doomed a dead the moment she picked it and gave it to me
I tried to save it
Quickly putting it in a glass bottle i had painted clouds on
It didn’t work it was to late
On valentine's day i was gifted a rose
A kid had died and the family donated them to every girl in school that day
It was a gesture in his honor
And it felt nice to actually receive a flower for valentine's day
Even if it wasn’t from a love interest
I made sure to put it in a glass vase before it had a chance to give out and wilt
I looked at both the roses sitting beside each other
One void of the life it once lived in the front yard
The other alive and well commemorating the dead
Which one was prettier?
The dead or the dying
At the end of the day
They were both just roses

I want to post excerpts from the book that I’m writing on here so I can get opinions but I don’t want my writing or ideas to get stolen. Does anyone know how to keep that from happening? 😭
I've decided to start writing fanfiction again instead of my regular stores!
I'll take requests on anything if it's a character I don't know I'll do minor research!
Fluff, angst, spicy
(smut is a big maybe I'm not that great at writing that kinda thing)

What do you do when the world separates you?
When you have no one to blame?
When you don't have them to love?
When you have no one to hate?
When you have nothing to hold onto but only memories?
When that beautiful ocean filled with love is now drowning you?
When you want to hold on a little longer but have no breath left.
What do you do?
Me and My Writing Drafts: A Rollercoaster of Emotions

Me: stares at the screen Okay, time to write the next masterpiece!
Also Me: opens a new document Let's do this!
Brain: sends a million ideas at once Write about cats! No, wait, aliens! No, wait, a cat-alien invasion!
Me: creates multiple drafts simultaneously Why have one idea when you can have ten?

Me: scrolls through the drafts folder Ah, yes, my precious babies. So many possibilities, so little time.
Also Me: starts hyperventilating How can I choose just one? They're all my brainchildren!
Brain: mocking voice Remember that brilliant idea you had at 2 a.m.? Yeah, that one. Write about that!
Me: looks at the time It's 2 a.m. again. Of course, brain, why not torture me with more ideas when I should be sleeping?
Also Me: cries internally How can I ever finish anything when my brain is a chaotic writing factory?
Brain: whispers Hey, remember that unfinished draft from three years ago? Yeah, let's revive it!
Me: gasps The ghost of an unfinished draft haunting my writing career! Brilliant!
Also Me: clutches drafts tightly One day, my darlings, one day I'll conquer you all!

Me: sighs The struggle of a writer with too many drafts is real. But hey, at least I'll never run out of material!

Good Traits Gone Bad
Exploring good traits gone bad in a novel can add depth and complexity to your characters. Here are a few examples of good traits that can take a negative turn:
1. Empathy turning into manipulation: A character with a strong sense of empathy may use it to manipulate others' emotions and gain an advantage.
2. Confidence becoming arrogance: Excessive confidence can lead to arrogance, where a character belittles others and dismisses their opinions.
3. Ambition turning into obsession: A character's ambition can transform into an unhealthy obsession, causing them to prioritize success at any cost, including sacrificing relationships and moral values.
4. Loyalty becoming blind devotion: Initially loyal, a character may become blindly devoted to a cause or person, disregarding their own well-being and critical thinking.
5. Courage turning into recklessness: A character's courage can morph into reckless behavior, endangering themselves and others due to an overestimation of their abilities.
6. Determination becoming stubbornness: Excessive determination can lead to stubbornness, where a character refuses to consider alternative perspectives or change their course of action, even when it's detrimental.
7. Optimism becoming naivety: Unwavering optimism can transform into naivety, causing a character to overlook dangers or be easily deceived.
8. Protectiveness turning into possessiveness: A character's protective nature can evolve into possessiveness, where they become overly controlling and jealous in relationships.
9. Altruism becoming self-neglect: A character's selflessness may lead to neglecting their own needs and well-being, to the point of self-sacrifice and burnout.
10. Honesty becoming brutal bluntness: A character's commitment to honesty can turn into brutal bluntness, hurting others with harsh and tactless remarks.
These examples demonstrate how even admirable traits can have negative consequences when taken to extremes or used improperly. By exploring the complexities of these traits, you can create compelling and multi-dimensional characters in your novel.
Happy writing!
